However, we always find a quality Noble fir if even we have to hunt a bit. This year was REALLY unusual. The Monday after T Day we went with the idea we'd have to spend time searching. The most helpful young man pointed us to a new field of Nobles. And there, no more than 10 feet in from the path was IT (visions of Clark Griswold!). There were countless more even after that Turkey Day rush. The same man came by in his tractor and asked if he could cut it down for us. He had a chain saw. I had a hand saw. No brainer!! The service and selection are first class. Topping this off is the gift shop, where you pay, has all sorts of Christmas related things, including fresh wreaths (which we bought)

It is located in a neighborhood and parking only on site. The bathrooms are porta potties. Excellent friendly service. They don't serve food, but have rotating food trucks. A neighbor actually suggested this place and coming in the morning during the week was really a great idea. We got here shortly after 10am and that was the perfect time to come, there was only one other family picking blueberries and plenty of bushes to give us space. When you get here you pick out a bucket (freshly sanitized) and then you walk down to the blueberry bushes where you can pick blueberries until your heart is happy and bucket is full. Then you walk back up to where you parked and give the people working your bucket with all your pickings, they weigh it and you pay. FYI I'm glad I looked before coming but it's cash only so come prepared and please when you're around others make sure to have your mask. It's easy, fun and gives the kids some sort of summer memories even with covid going on. And let me tell you these blueberries from here are delicious.

I've walked around this trail a couple times in the past. It's good to walk here when it's not peak…read moredaylight hours as there's not much shade then. This year I finally participated for the first time in the popular U-pick blueberries at the farm! They have a larger one at Mercer Slough too, but I heard it got more crowded there and decided to try Lake Larsen instead. I went on a Sunday morning before peak hours at around 10 am, so there wasn't a line or crowd. Price is 2.50 per lb and the minimum is 2 lb, so if you pick less than that you need to pay a flat rate of $5. I thought the price was pretty reasonable, even with the minimum 2lbs, you got a LOT of blueberries. It's a fun experience, being able to hand-pick fruit yourself and to take it home and either eat it, bake it, turn it into a jam, etc.. They also have a produce market later in the day where they sell fresh vegetables from the farm. The farm is well maintained, the area wasn't muddy when we arrived and it was pretty clean. They give you a pail to pick blueberries and then you can weigh it at the end once you're done. If you don't want your berries touching the bottom of the bucket, I'd recommend getting some bags or plastic grocery bags from home to put them in. You don't need gloves as the trees are around our height and don't have thorns or anything. Website recommended bringing bug repellant. There is a sign saying there are active wasps/bees nests; I didn't see any around, but it's probably better to be cautious and watch the ground as you walk. Don't know how it took me so long to finally visit the blueberry farm, but I'm definitely coming again every year! Super fun experience

The pumpkins were pre-picked but placed across the field so you still had to look around and use a wheelbarrow which we enjoyed. The reason I'm writing this review is because of an uncomfortable checkout experience. While we were waiting in line to weigh our strawberries, we noticed the staff member at the scale zeroing out the container for the customers ahead of us so they wouldn't be charged for the basket/box itself. She even explained it out loud, which we thought was considerate. However, when it was our turn, she did not zero out the scale. We didn't say anything at the time and assumed maybe it was an honest mistake. What felt disheartening was that immediately after we paid and stepped aside, she zeroed out the scale again for the customer right behind us. My friends, who are of Hispanic ancestry, felt very uncomfortable and singled out by the interaction. I don't want to accuse anyone of racism or say this was intentional, because I don't know that. But I do think it's worth sharing because these kinds of small differences in treatment can really affect how people feel in a space. Our overall experience was okay, but that checkout interaction left a bad impression.
