We came to Picha Farms for U-pick strawberries with a couple of friends. The actual picking experience was okay. The field was small and the strawberries were on the smaller side, but that was expected and similar to other farms we've visited before. The reason I'm writing this review is because of an uncomfortable checkout experience. While we were waiting in line to weigh our strawberries, we noticed the staff member at the scale zeroing out the container for the customers ahead of us so they wouldn't be charged for the basket/box itself. She even explained it out loud, which we thought was considerate. However, when it was our turn, she did not zero out the scale. We didn't say anything at the time and assumed maybe it was an honest mistake. What felt disheartening was that immediately after we paid and stepped aside, she zeroed out the scale again for the customer right behind us. My friends, who are of Hispanic ancestry, felt very uncomfortable and singled out by the interaction. I don't want to accuse anyone of racism or say this was intentional, because I don't know that. But I do think it's worth sharing because these kinds of small differences in treatment can really affect how people feel in a space. Last weekend in June to experience U-Pick Strawberries at most farms in the PNW. Picha Farms is about 15 minutes away from us, so we headed out early Sunday morning to pick some strawberries. It was a bit confusing determining where we needed to go. We used Google Maps and it defaulted us to what appeared to be the prepicked strawberries and berries concession. I had to look back on the Instagram page to figure out where the actual plot of land was designated the U-Pick for the day. That was a bit frustrating because it was a video of a screenshot of where to go. No actual address to plug into the map, not even coordinates. The strawberries are $4.15/lb, which is fairly priced. The strawberries that we were picking in our designated row were very small; some were over ripped as well. We didn't stay too long, maybe 30 minutes or so. I recently visited Picha Farms for strawberry picking. My family used to come here often when I was a kid, and the strawberries still taste as good as I remember! The farm is easy to find. Just follow the directions to the Puyallup stand and the U-pick field is right across the street. There's an outhouse behind the stand if you need a restroom. Otherwise, head straight to the U-pick area, where there's plenty of parking. The check-in is at a small white tent, where they provide cardboard boxes for picking. I went on a Saturday morning. They opened at 9 AM and charged $4.10 per pound. What I really like about this farm is how organized it is. Staff will direct you to a specific row of plants, and you'll use a flag to mark where you stopped picking. It was easy to find plenty of ripe strawberries and we filled two boxes quickly. It's hard to judge the weight by sight, but each box was probably about 7.5 pounds, since the total came to around $60. Two key tips: 1. Check their Facebook page for up-to-date hours and availability, since they change with the weather. 2. Bring cash or a personal check because they don't accept credit cards. read more

We had an awesome time at the pumpkin patch and corn maze here this year! My daughter also tried the pumpkin slingshot. Everything was really fun, the people that work there are really nice, and It's only about 20 minutes from our house, so that's even better! The corn maze was totally worth it. I wasn't expecting an actual 40 minutes wandering through amaze, but I'm glad it wasn't easy. If you find all eight posts and answer the questions correctly on your quiz sheet, you get a free mini pumpkin at the end. I definitely recommend Picha during the fall festival. read more

Love Picha Farms! We come here every year for our pumpkins and always have a blast! The selection is great and I think the price is very reasonable for the quality you get. This year, we also did the hayride and the little train for our daughter. She has a blast on both!! I really enjoyed the hay ride and liked that the driver stopped half way and gave some info on the farm and let us take pictures of Mt. Rainer. They also have a bunch of different spots around the property for pictures which is a fun way to compare from year to year. I anticipate we will be coming for many years to come! read more

I came here on a beautiful fall day and was just... so very disappointed. I think the business owners have thought through only 60% or so of what it takes to have hoards of visitors come through their property. For example: they had food vendors but no seating available to eat the food. And they had a woman driving a tractor around the property as a make-shift "train" for kids, but the path for this tractor was not marked in any way or set apart from the main area of the farm - so the tractor operator was just driving into the crowds and hoping for the best. She almost ran over a 6 year old I was with, so that was a memorable experience - but not the one I came for. read more

First time at Picha Farms & it will now be a yearly tradition! We arrived for the Pumpkin Patch around 1 in the afternoon. Across the patch is the parking lot, which is free & so is admission. We purchased a few tickets for some of their attractions/games which included the Hayride ($5/person), pumpkin slingshots ($2/shot) & kiddie train ride ($2/child). There was also the corn maze ($7/person), which we didn't do. The environment is friendly & the workers were most helpful. There was live music & a few food vendors; I had to get an elote & try the Alaskan dumplings, so yummy! Overall, I rate my experience a 10/10. We arrived around midday on a Saturday and the farm was bustling, lots of fun around. Pumpkins all around, lots of fun to be had. We enjoyed strolling the grounds to find the perfect pumpkins, tons of varying sizes but some of the larger pumpkins that I've seen were here. We did not partake in the corn maze or the hayride but those looked like fun. The kiddy train is a fun little activity. There are cute picture stops all over the farm. Food was available from several vendors. The cost of pumpkins was reasonable, cheaper than some other farms. We enjoyed our time here and would highly suggest going. read more

Probably one of the most interactive pumpkin patches I've been to. They have loads of activities and food to offer in addition to walking through the patch. Though I recommend bringing cash as some vendors are cash only. The place is filled with tons of cute setups for photos and is super family friendly! We went for fall of 2018, and it was great! We completed the corn maze, I kind of wished the maze had questions that guided you around the maze. For example, if you picked answer "A" you go right, and "B" you go left. Regardless, it was still quite fun! The pumpkins were fun to pick. Picha Farms was the fall activity we were hoping for! We enjoyed our hot cider and freshly made kettle corn as we navigated our way through the corn maze. Then, we strolled through the pumpkin patch and picked up a couple of pumpkins for a very reasonable price (.35/lb, I think). So we went down to the pumpkin patch this weekend. Picha Farms is conveniently located between Puyallup and The Emerald Queen Casino so on your way to some Native American blackjack you can pick up some pumpkins and take a hay ride. Do this on the way cuz you might not have any $$$ on the way back.... though the pumpkin was cheap. The good stuff - plenty to choose from (too many really) different colors shapes and sizes. Prices were okay for the pumpkin but not for a hay ride across the street basically a two minute ride. Wheel barrows were plentiful. The bad stuff - parking was okay but people honking and yelling at each other in front of little kids was definitely NOT okay. It was srsly tense there for awhile. The smelly mud everywhere demanded they put down some straw and layoff the chicken manure fertilizer. So bring boots and a handkerchief to cover your mouf and nose like some sort of squash bandit. Minus one for parking nightmares and minus one for price gouging on a five minute hay ride that should be free (and is in most other places). read more

I have great memories here when halloween time comes around. We love coming here as it's a local farm right off River Road in Puyallup. Plenty of parking, kettle corn stand, corn maze (first year we went felt like we were going to never leave! Second year we were smarter and asked people where our missing numbers are so you can win a small gourd), cheap prices on pumpkins (charged by the lb). I believe they also have tractor rides, pumpkin catapults, and an espresso stand. There are plenty of areas to take cute photos with your family. Lots of kid activities to make going to pick our your perfect pumpkin experience a memorable one. You can also purchase corn stalks for decorations. Now to the pumpkins! They have such a beautiful selection of pumpkins with all sorts of sizes for your pumpkin carving needs. I just like this farm because the others i've seen while driving by have lots of people and super crowded. This one is smaller, it is slightly crowded due to that but smaller means less walking! Our family had a positive experience in the past so we tried a return trip. Discovered it was closed and lingered in the grassy parking area across the street to look for an alternative pumpkin patch. Found one and as we headed out, a middled-age white man drove slowly down the street near the exit then aggressively blocked us with his truck from leaving. When I rolled down the window to ask him to move, he said "You're on my property; what do you think you're doing here?" There I am, a mom with five kids in the car. Seemed obvious, but I responded that we came to experience the pumpkin patch and made a mistake about the time and asked again for him to please move. Then again with you're on my property, what do you think your doing rudeness. Now I just told him he needed to move and let us pass. I rolled up my window prepared to call 911. He finally move out of the way and then proceeded to follow us a bit. We'll never return. But I can strongly recommend Sidhu farm as a fabulous alternative and the people who run it are so very kind! read more

This pumpkin patch was so much fun and well priced. My boyfriend and I went here on Sunday and did all the basic pumpkin patch activities. We got 2 huge pumpkins and a cute little sugar pumpkin for $20. We also did the pumpkin slingshot, which was $1 a pumpkin and deeply satisfying. We also wandered the patch and took cute photos. Entrance and parking was free. The only ding was the corn maze and hay ride were expensive in my opinion at $6 and $3 a person. I recommend this patch to all lovers of fall! read more

Not overly crowded like some pumpkin patches. Cute set up. Corn maze was fun and a good level of difficulty (not too hard, but took longer than I expected) and you got a prize for completing the maze and finding all checkpoints. We took our kids here for the Seahawks Kids Club pumpkin patch event. This is smaller than other pumpkin patch but it was still fun until it was pouring rain. They had all sizes of pumpkins you can choose from. Corn maze was $5 per person. We didn't get to do that or the sling shots since we were hiding from the rain for the most part. Thank goodness they had a few tents at the event!! The staff here are super friendly!! It was really muddy at the parking lot when we left. One of the staff asked if our cars were AWD or 4WD which we did but our friend's car wasn't. It wasn't an issue because 4 guys pushed their car out to the main street while another staff stopped the traffic. read more

Note: This is a review just for the pumpkin experience. I haven't gone here any other time, for any other product/produce. I went to Picha last year, since it is close to home. I think of myself as a pumpkin-patch connoisseur, haha. Well, I was not impressed! The parking sucks. You park on the side of the (narrow) road (Which is busy on weekends with everyone at the patch). I thought this would be a farm that grew their own pumpkins. Nope! They were clean and neatly placed in the field. We even came across a pumpkin that still had a SKU sticker on it. I like going to a farm that actually grows their own stuff. I drive by this place on the commute, and currently, there are semi trucks visible, with huge produce boxes in plain sight full of pumpkins. I don't know, I'm particular when it comes this stuff.. Anyways. I didn't hate it here. If you want to hit up a pumpkin patch, do a few games, and don't expect much out of it like I do, this place will do. I prefer the whole farm feel, with pumpkys grown on-site, and a bigger maze, the pet-the-farm-animals, snacks, gift shop, the whole shebang (And better parking!). Lesson learned- I'll make the drive down south to go back to my favorite patch. read more
