There are 7 acres to roam, they say with varieties ripening from early summer until early fall, but from what I could tell, there weren't obvious sections. And barely true paths. In mid July, we set out to get only a large bowlful to have on our Long Beach getaway, not enough for jam or to freeze. In several more weeks. The picking will be easy, but as it was, we walked away from the barn to the end of the bushes looking for bushes full of ripe berries. Not finding them, we turned back settling on bushes with branches that had small clumps of ripe ones. In other words, we were not cleaning a branch or bush, but rather carefully plucking a small handful on a branch and moving to another. Slow but steady going, with lots of not quite fully ripe, but all delicious! And we had a very fun and peaceful time, with the farm to us and the birds and a tree frog that jumped on my arm. ( I'm not going to lie that I'm not sure if he or I was more startled, lol!) You head back to the barn to self-pay on the honor system, which is also pretty cool. Yeah, great place in the summer. Would like to try cranberrying in the fall!

Instead, I went straight down the road to the farm (closed on the weekends), and a woman screamed me. "Didn't you see the sign???? The farm is closed. You're only the 17th person to come down here." So here's a suggestion: BETTER SIGNAGE. No most people don't know to go to the little shed to get a bucket and pay on the honor system. Aside from that, the blueberries were fantastic and only 2$ a pound, and yes you can pick when the farm is closed. Bring cash.

My only issue was the paying to get in part, then 3 pumpkins being nearly $60. I thought we HAD to pay admission to get in, but afterwards it seemed as if I didn't need to. Admission is $10 a person & you get unlimited bouncy house and hay rides. But later I noticed you can pay separate for hay rides, so overall I was kinda sad I paid entry cause we could've done without. Oh well. Anyhoo, not a bad little pumpkin patch that's local and not too out of our way.

She simply replied 'We never had enough blueberries from the few plants in our backyard' so they cleared a larger section of their lot and expanded. Now with 100's of plants in an amazing variety they have what seems like an unlimited amount and are sharing the wealth. I love that this farm is so close by for an easy day trip and pricing per lb can't be beat. It's by appointment only which takes a bit of extra work and planning but allows you a quiet experience with the whole place to yourself. Jami explained all the varieties and encourages taste testing while you pick. Our favorites ended up being classic Earliblue, sweet Blue Ribbon and giant Chandler. We walked away with 14lbs (about an hour of 2 adults picking for reference) which turned into a blueberry buckle, muffins, jam, ice cream, smoothie bowl topping and plain ol' fresh summer good eats. They used to have it set up so you could go out into their big fields and pick out all different varieties of pumpkins and they were reasonably priced. Now, the pumpkins are lined up in a row in a lawn area and there is nothing in their fields I wondered out loud if they even grew them there and the lady said they did but then why not leave them on the vine or in the field for the experience? It was a Saturday and not busy at all so I'm guessing others are bummed by the change as well. Pumpkin prices are not marked. We paid 40.00 for 3 medium sized pumpkins and 4 tiny decorative pumpkins. Afterwards we went to Walmart for some groceries and saw similar sized pumpkins for 3.97 a piece for large and 1.00 for tiny ones. We like to support local but I think we will pass next year. Cute little set up for a photo but otherwise just meh.
