I'd give 5 stars if they'd not been out of both pulled pork and shoestring fries. I called Cobb's when they first opened because I have an allergy to latex and can't eat food prepared with latex gloves. Radar, the Kitchen Manager, came to the phone to tell me that they did, indeed, use latex but if I'd give him a week - after New Year's - he'd replace them. True to his word, we went today and were thrilled to find non-latex gloves. No restaurant has ever had that reaction so we're fans for life! Well, For that and the sweet potato fries which are crispy and light and come with an addictive spicy sauce. The sliders were light and delicious and the buns were soft and warm. There were 3 of us so 6 thumbs up! Cash only is kind of a pain and that they collected the money before we were served was odd but the service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We were hungry and didn't want to keep wandering around in the cold, so we stopped here. It was a little strange, but ok. What was strange was that there was a room next door with a pool table and what seemed like a bunch of odds and ends piled around. Perhaps they are in the middle of some sort of renovation? The service very polite, but slow considering there weren't very many customers. My buffalo chicken wrap was pretty good, but my husband's avocado toast was not toasted- just some avocado and an egg slapped on a piece of white bread. The restrooms have motion sensor lights. While I was in a stall, the lights went out and it became pitch black. Luckily I had my phone's flashlight because you need to walk out of the stall before the lights will go back on. The whole place was just not very well maintained and they charge extra to use a credit card. Overall the experience wasn't terrible but there are surely better spots around. read more

Great food, awesome prices, cool atmosphere, excellent customer service, sorta quiet. The ONE drawback to this place is that they don't accept credit cards. Had to walk to PNC a couple blocks away before I went in so I could order. Other than that, Cobb's is a fine establishment. read more

Honestly, a hidden gem in the hopping Cass area. I had the lamb sliders which were quite good. My partner had the cheeseburger and curley fries and was happy. The staff is super friendly and the price was amazing. A bucket of beers for $10! Unheard of in this area. We hear the Sunday brunch is supposed to be amaze balls. read more

An okay restaurant that, unfortunately, can't compete with the competitive food scene that surrounds it. Food is average at best and the interior feels a bit confused. Upon checkout, we were handed a piece of ripped notebook paper with our order scribbled on it in lieu of a bill which felt unprofessional. On a positive note, the location is prime and setup feels quite social and could accommodate for large groups. Overall, Cobb's is an average restaurant but I would struggle to recommend it over the other incredible eateries throughout Detroit. horrible, disrespectful staff. employees were rude for no reason and denied us service when we were willing to wait in line. we asked the employee a simple question and he backfired with insults for no reason. this happened with more than just one employee. both employees were drinking on the job and starting arguments with us for no reason. read more

Today for first time I arrived to the establishment for lunch. The name caught my eye and burgers I love. My experience w/the establishment was very disappointing and felt racially motivated. I arrived and there were only three customers in the restaurant. And had already been taken care of. But before I was asked if I needed a menu or anything? The young said "we only take cash". I was then given a menu and placed order for two small sliders. My order had been in for over five minutes. Two other patrons came into the restaurant. The young lady immediately gave menu,offered them water and took their order. Never said to them anything about only cash. After she gave them water. I look @ her as if to say. "What about me"? I was then asked if I wanted water? I asked for ice only, she brought it dumped it down in front of me and walked off. Then to make things so uncomfortable for me. Their food was brought out before mines, fries and appeared to be burgers. At this time a gentleman standing @ end of bar said to me. Have you been helped? My response was "yes and I was here prior to the other customers getting there food." Gentleman says "it may take longer because she has to bag it." Which sounded like a line he was giving me. The young lady comes out hands me my bag and says. "I didn't check to see who food was first. I said "well you knew my order was placed a while before they came in". I asked if I could get some napkins and ketchup and mustard. Young lady said "we do not have carry out ketchup and mustard". Oh you want some napkins? To find some ketchup package in bottom of bag when I got back to work. She then rang my order up and laid my change on the counter and walked away. No receipt was given, but @ this point I decided best I just walk out. I got no thank you, come again or anything. I walked out disappointed and felt it racially motivated. I am African American female. All I see is reviews from Caucasians for this establishment. I decided to call back to the restaurant and ask for the owner. To get the same young lady. I asked for the owner or someone in charge. And I let her know I was young lady whom just left. to be told by her that . The owners were out of town for next few weeks. I asked for someone in charge? Rayban, is the name I was given got on the phone and I asked his position. I was informed kitchen manger/supervisor. Whom informed me that they do not give receipts due to age of cash register. But he would provide one if and when I came back. That this young lady was one of there best bar staff. Appreciated my allowing him first to try to handle the issue. But if I like I could call the owners back. But I chose to follow protocol. Rayban stated customer service important to the establishment and did offer his apology. That in service/meeting ? to come in future to address the concerns. And then offered to provide free lunch asap. I appreciate Rayban, but I feel this isn't a restaurant for anyone of any nationality but caucasian to frequent this establishment. I would like to say my sliders were good. And for the record if she is the nicest I would hate to meet the worse. I work for corporate office in the area, and some said they use to frequent but may reconsider.
