Came here for the first time with my wife. We ordered the 3 choice plate each. We got pinakbet, dinaguan, kare kare, longanisa, bangis and halohalo for dessert. Everything was delicious and flavorful. The dinaguan was a bit oily and they probably need to scoop out the huge oily layer, but its so tender and flavorful, but I don't want to have a heart attack either lol. love pinakbet and wished there was more bitter melon. The halo halo wasn't anything special, but still very delicious. Staff are very friendly. Lots of tables in this little mini food court within the Hong Kong market area. Lots of parking as well. The outside restroom is very surprisingly clean and nice. The usual asian markets that I've been to are normally dirty as fawk. read more

It's hard to find Filipino food, but there's a great little restaurant in Asia Times Square around the way from Hong Kong Market. The people that work there were very friendly and worked very hard to get the food out as quick as possible. They give generous portions, the price is fair, and there's something for everybody. The thing I loved about it most, besides how great it tasted, is it reminded me of eating at Filipino friends homes many years ago. You can taste the love and care and every bite. First time eating here. It's conveniently located inside the Asian Times Square so plenty of parking spots for you. The place is a food court vibe with food already cooked and you just choose what is available. Nothing fancy but great if you are in a hurry for lunch. I had the 3 sides + white rice for $11.36 which I was surprised how affordable it was! The portions are good too, i had pancit, chicken mechado and chicken tinola. Food was good but the downside is that it doesn't seem fresh but makes sense because it's already there on the warmer. I will definitely come again and support my Pinoy community. And even though I'm no expert in Filipino cuisine, I listened and watched everyone else order in front of me to see what was popular and ended up ordering the bitter melon, lechon, and the adobo. Everything tasted very homemade and reminded me of my former roommate's mother who would use to make us yummy Filipino food. We came over to Arlington today not just to pick up a kid from college but also to try this place that we saw Mike Chen review - turns out he was here less than 2 weeks ago, and business has already picked up!! Yeah baby! We ordered two two-entree rice plates to try the most things, and got an order of small sausages on the side. While we are not completely sure of names, we are certain that every bite was DELICIOUS! I had a delicious mild peanutty curry of beef tripe that I would 100% get again. The soft extra-mild bible tripe was melt-in-your mouth tender, mixed with tender Chinese eggplant and crunchy Chinese long beans. This is tripe for everyone - ethereal and comforting. We also got the Pork Adobo, chunks of skin-on pork simmered for hours until tender in a delicious adobo sauce. The pork fat under the shin becomes translucent, and the whole chunk of meat is tender and meltingly smooth. A dish Laino (pork with greens in coconut milk) was spiked with raw Serrano Chile for just a pinch of heat in an otherwise creamy melange of big flavors. Our 4th dish was Pork Picadillo, a fragrant stew of mild spices (turmeric and garlic) and vegetables. This stew was delicious and I will be trying to find a recipe to cook at home. Each dish had a different flavor profile, each was perfectly balanced, and each was absolutely delicious. There are tables located in the food court area. It can be challenging to find seating on the weekends but there was ample seating on the Thursday I went. They have cafeteria style items like pancit and adobo but then I noticed the sign for sisig and couldn't resist ordering it. It takes 10 minutes to prepare and they give you a pager to come back up to the counter when it's ready. It came out on a small sizzling plate and smelled great. My wife and I drove pretty far to come and try this restaurant out. It was on a recent list of the top Filipino restaurants in the state of Texas so we thought, hey let's check this place out! Didn't really enjoy the food as some of the dishes that were advertised were not available. The lumpia was not that great. It was somewhat mushy in the middle. The barbecue stick was not very hot. It was hard meat unfortunately. The longanisa was ok, but not tops in Texas good. The service is somewhat slow, so in addition to the long drive to get here, we definitely won't be trying the restaurant again. read more

Respectfully sir, here are the facts: 1) Immediately after the food was purchased from your restaurant, it took 35 minutes from your restaurant directly to my home.  There were no stops in between. 2) The food was "sealed" inside the plastic bag you provided, tied in a knot.   3) The food was placed in the back seat of the car during the 35-minute drive. Not in the trunk, not on the floor. 4) The food was still warm and ready to be eaten upon arrival to my home therefore did not need any reheating in the microwave.   5) As I stated before, the cockroach was mixed in, stuck to the garlic.  The cockroach was not sitting on top of the rice as shown in the photos.  The photos were taken after I had found the cockroach within the garlic, in which the garlic was in between a layer of rice on the bottom and the pork chop on top. 6) The cockroach was dead.  Old. Hard. Crispy.  If it were to ridiculously "crawl" in the bag as you suggested during the 35-minute drive from your restaurant to my dining table, shouldn't the cockroach be alive or still soft and fresh when I opened the food? 7) Since Filipino restaurants are scarce, this is unfortunate since your restaurant is the only Filipino food we eat outside of my Mother's own cooking.  I personally, along with my pregnant wife who almost ingested the cockroach will no longer eat from there.  My review and comments are mines alone and does not reflect anyone else in my family who will most certainly still continue to purchase food from your restaurant as they are a "suki". read more

My wife and I had hear about this place from some Filipino women we bumped into a few weeks ago. We found it today, a family run food counter, within ASIA World shopping Mall. This place offers excellent quality Filipino food items that are expertly prepared and offered at reasonable prices. Today we got freshly made Lechon Kawali, which I call "pig candy". Succulent pork meat with crispy fried skin served with a semi-sweet liver sauce that complements the meat. We also ordered Palabok pancit noodles with shrimp and a mild sauce. We also purchased a bottle of their house made spicy vinegar which is potent with Thai chili's and garlic. Extremely tasty. We highly recommend Cocina Elena. read more

The longsilog was basically like microwaved sausages. The only thing I liked was the garlic-fried rice. I've been told it was better on Sundays, and when I went it was much busier and the food quality seemed better as well. I have never had a bad experience eating here so all the mixed reviews surprise me but then again I always come over the weekend which is apparently when the food is at its best. I really enjoy the lumpia and the pansit (both are the right amount of greasy and very tasty). They also serve Filipino-style breakfast all day which is something I found endearing. This place is affordable and delicious and whenever I'm craving Filipino food this is where I come! The only downside is the fact that they're cash only and there isn't a major bank atm in the supermarket. read more
