I was told by family that goes here multiple times for the empanadas and birrita taco that the food was good. So we went for my niece's graduation lunch. The place was very pretty inside. Very comfortable, nice decorations and the staff were really friendly. Our waitress was amazing because we had some issues at our table with some of the Food. There were a mixed reviews, some enjoyed it and some didn't. Like I said, some people loved the empanadas and tacos. My experience, I wasn't happy at all. I had the steak fajitas with elotes. I was told that the fajita meat was cut very thick and chewy so I told them to make it thin like cut it in half. When I got my fajitas, they were thin slice like cheesesteak thin. I don't understand how you get cutting fajita meat in half as making it look like cheesesteaks. I sent it back and asked them for just a regular fajita meat because I was just gonna cut it in half. It was too thick. It took them a while to bring it back by that time, I didn't want it. We had gotten the guacamole and queso with ground beef. The queso was delicious, but it wasn't enough when you added the ground beef to it. The guacamole had no seasoning to it. It needing salt and lime, and it was just bland. Five out of 10 people got the same thing. The Mexican corn had some type of black paste or oil on it. The Mexican corn was not good either. I asked for it again without that black oil pace. It still didn't have any seasoning to it after removing the ancho black oil. For that to be my first time, I'm not likely to go back. I spoke to a Lady manager and she removed my bill. A male manager came over I believe his name was Greg. He gave me a card for a free appetizer to come back in a brunch ticket for Sundays. I will try it one more time because maybe the staff in the kitchen that day wasn't on their toes. I'm hoping the next time is better. read more

This was my second time at Vidorra. I enjoyed it so much the last time. My husband had never been. We made reservations because you never know about the tables. It wasn't crowded and we were seated immediately outside. The weather was nice, a little windy and they brought the umbrellas down so they wouldn't fall. Mayra was our waitress and she took good care of us. I ordered the birria tacos and they were just as good as I remembered. I ate all 3 this time. That good. Vidorra sits on the Grand Lawn near EpicCentral - such a neat little area with plenty of eats to explore in the direct vicinity! Love the open concept of this restaurant with access to the bar both indoor and outdoor. We arrived early evening on Easter Sunday and the wait was not too bad considering it was quite busy. While we waited for our table we stopped at the bar to grab a drink. The bartender was not particularly friendly but got the job done. We ordered the Papi Chulo and the Guava - no complaints on the drinks other than needing to have one remade due to an unclean glass. We were seated and our sever, Samantha, was very sweet and attentive. She answered questions with no problem, gave us time to browse the menu without forgetting about us and even came back to the table to inform us something we ordered was prepared with pork and wanted to ensure that was okay as we explained most of us primarily ate pescatarian. Food arrived and it was fine - nothing to truly write home about. The chips and salsa were quite tasty! The chips are seasoned so it adds a little razzle dazzle. I'll lead with the bad and end with the positive. The music is too loud. Normally the rumble of everyone talking is enough for you to have to speak up over a meal. This was so loud the speaker system was struggling with the base. It was too much. It is December and cold outside. It was cold in here and the ceiling fans were going strong. It was not a comfortable to place to get out of the cold. The decor is very nice. Seating was spread out well enough for privacy. Our meal was excellent!!! The guacamole was excellent. It was chunky and fresh. We had salsa and chips and some tacos. Every thing was fresh and flavorful. Before we left, my friend did let the manager know that it was way too loud and it was a bit much to have ceiling fans rolling in December. Our input was well-received. The food was so good. The happy hour food deals can't be beat! 50% off apps that are large enough portions to be a meal. The service is always fast and friendly. However, the host stand is usually behind and it can take a while to get seated even though tables are available with no wait. Having an extra host would benefit the process. The indoor/outdoor flow is charming and there's a perfect view of the water show. If you do sit outside, be warned they either allow smoking/vaping on their patio or do not enforce against it. With how close the tables are I'd recommend sitting inside if this is a bother to you. read more

The food is pretty good here and so are the drinks. But I had to take 2 stars off for some interesting interactions I had to be a part of. First off let me say, I'm not trying to be rude but what I observed were 5 too many Gen Z moments. We were being seated when the hostess realized a couple was sitting at our table. The gal was malfunctioning. She walked back and for several times asking them why would they be sitting on a 6-too bc there's only 2 of them... several times... and several times they said they don't know they were sat there. Awkward bc my family of 6 were just standing there watching this all happened in a small space standing over them eating their chips. But the seating area was large, it could've fit 16 people because of the wrap around bench seating and NOONE was sitting near them. There were literally 14 available seats next to them.... But rather then just move us down, more hostesses and waitresses huddled to problem solve and then someone decided to pick up a table from the other side of the room and put it next to the already large empty place. Shortly after the hostess came back to the couple and asked who sat them there? Huh? Like you did all that meeting time and moved furniture to come back and ask the same thing? They ended up moving the couple inside. I apologized to them and told them we would've been happy to share space with them, but they were over it. After all that, they never sat anyone in that large area... We waiting 1.15hrs for our food and yes it was cold but I was more baffled at the fact that someone came back to get that extra table they moved to put it back to the other side to seat a different group. The whole situation had me laughing of "wow really this is happening? My first Gen Z malfunction encounter" Establishment is nice, staff is young and just need some more critical thinking cells, and it was crazy busy. 2hr wait and 1hr wait time for our food. read more

Since it is bone-in, I had high hopes for tenderness and flavor, but it was really lacking in both. This was our first trip to this location- here are the takeaways: Chips are yummy, and the salsas are very good. The servers are sweet and attentive as well. My husband's fajitas were good- grilled chicken was amazing he said. I got the chicken street tacos because I was told they were "light," but the tortillas were soaked in oil. I had asked for just DRY, soft corn tortillas (my stomach can't handle it and I like to TASTE the tortillas), but they were soaked - so wet, they even fell apart. I liked this place! Was a little annoyed by the waitlist system. You can't make a reservation in advance and they turn the waitlist on and off it seems based on how busy it is? On my drive over the waitlist was closed so I assumed there was no wait but when I arrived it was a 45min wait. Luckily we were able to find seating at the bar instead fairly quickly. I had the street tacos and the Vidorrita cocktail. Both were pretty good! I was very impressed with the portion size and it made the higher price feel worth it. Lively place, with delicious food & excellent service! Had dinner here on a Saturday evening with some girlfriends, this place is BUSY. Easy to get on the waitlist online... it was anticipated to be over an hour wait, but they were ready for us much quicker... I think within 40 minutes we had been seated. There is outdoor seating, inside seating (it's very open to the outside), & upstairs that provides indoor seating that's more enclosed within the restaurant & outdoors seating that still roof covering with fans & a view of Epic Central's Water. TVs to watch sports are also mounted on the wall, sit on the second floor that has the fountain view, this is where we were & loved it. Let me start with saying Hailey was an awesome waitress. It was super busy & she was very attentive as we were waiting on our food. The manager that visited us later to see how things were was also very gracious & the young kid that brought our dessert at the end was so polite. Complimentary chips & salsa verde - really good, we even got the salsa verde to go. Queso blanco - so good! Parrillada En Fuego - plenty of food, my friend said all the flavors go well together. Shortribs A++, she even ordered extra shortribs to take home. Enchiladas - I think my friend got the chili con carne ones, she enjoyed them. Queso Birria Empanadas - this was mine, crispy but doesn't fall apart & not at all greasy. The consomme is on point! Trompo Pork Taco - also mine, tender pork with sweet pineapple that were perfect together. The sauce complimented it very well. Kahlua Bundt Cake - YUMMY. This place is popping, apparently the upstairs turns into a club at like 10pm. I will say when we first arrived we went through what apparently wasn't the main entrance, downstairs seemed a bit crowded with tables close to each other & please note it can get very loud. That's actually why we asked to sit upstairs, even as we were waiting for our table there wasn't enough space for all guests to wait or check-in (many waiting outside as it was overcrowded) & staff also kept bumping into us. Today, I got their chicken quesadillas. Very disappointed. Two of them had ONE small piece of chicken the rest had a little bit of chicken and some cheese. It felt like a plate from the kids menu. Not to mention the size. 4 small triangles with no beans or rice for $17! The tortillas taste store bought. Why I didn't send it back or ask for more chicken? I don't know.
