However, at some point-- I had to change dentists (maybe my original one left the practice?) and was informed that I URGENTLY needed a crown. Something in my gut told me to get a second opinion-- and surprise, surprise -- my tooth is perfectly fine. A little discoloration, but no crown needed. Apparently, my only real problem was walking into a practice more interested $ than caring for its patients. This place gave major "scammy car mechanic" vibes -- which left me with a BAD taste in my mouth-- pun intended.

We were brand new to Towson in mid June and my wife's TMJ started acting up, bad. I called around to some local TMJ specialists and she was scheduled for appointments in August or November. That didn't help her now. Despite not having a TMJ specialist on staff, Valley Dental Health agreed to see her the same day I called. They took her in and gave her an exam. They wrote her a script to help deal with the pain and offered some people that she could follow up with for additional assistance. One of those people was able to see her within a day or two. While Valley Dental Health couldn't assist my wife with her specific issue, I appreciate how they brought her in and examined her in a timely manner, provided a temporary solution and offered some referrals that got her on the road to recovery.

Within 20 minutes of my first visit, he identified the issue: an infection that had been missed. I was so relieved and grateful. Thanks to Dr. Gardyn, I was able to save my tooth. The process of removing the old root canal and redoing it was seamless. He has excellent bedside manner--kind, humble, funny, and incredibly reassuring throughout the entire experience. The lady on the phone was kind and helpful, and gave me detailed instructions on how to find the office when I came for my appointment. The office was nice, the waiting room had coffee, tea and water. Everyone I encountered at the front desk was incredibly friendly. I was x-rayed and then Dr. Mann came in to review that and do some other sensitivity tests. He was thorough, informative, and I really felt like he cared about what was best for me. Ultimately he did not feel that I needed a root canal at this time, and it was refreshing that he was honest and didn't try to sell me a service I didn't actually need.
