More importantly, she gave me the confidence to believe in myself. What makes Coco's teaching style so effective is that she's patient, positive, and encouraging. She lets you know when you're doing something well, and when there's something to improve, she explains the rule clearly so you understand why it matters. I never felt judged or discouraged--only supported. I took my driving test in San Francisco, which can feel intimidating, but because of Coco's preparation, I felt calm and confident. She also has wonderful relationships with everyone she interacts with, including the staff at the DMV, and her positive energy made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. My lessons with her started off okay. I was very upfront about having no prior driving experience, but as another reviewer mentioned, I felt that she pushed too hard too quickly. During our first lesson, she immediately had me get into the driver's seat and press the gas to move forward, without much explanation or preparation. Looking back, there were a few red flags in the way she reacted when she became frustrated. At the time, I brushed them off, but my biggest concern occurred while she was teaching me how to park. She forcefully grabbed my wrist, which I found inappropriate and uncomfortable. Another challenge I experienced was communication. While I appreciate that everyone has different communication styles and language backgrounds, I often found it difficult to understand her instructions because of the language barrier. As a brand-new driver, I relied heavily on clear, easy-to-follow directions, so this sometimes made the lessons more stressful and confusing than they needed to be. Throughout the lessons, there was very little communication about what we would be working on or what I should expect next. As someone who was completely new to driving, I would have benefited from more guidance, patience, and clear instruction. I believe that driving instructors should create a supportive learning environment, especially for beginners who are still building confidence behind the wheel. I really enjoyed learning to drive with her. She's patient, easy to talk to, and always made me feel comfortable, even when I was nervous. She explains things in a way that actually makes sense and never minded going over things again until I got it. She also did a great job getting me ready for the test. I was thinking about whether I should write this review. Coco is a really nice person and we had one lesson in early October. If you have a license in another country already and know how to drive, she's really great! She's funny and nice and works with a lot of Australians. However, if you are anxious and starting to learn, she pushes you a little bit hard in my opinion. During the lesson she would keep saying "this is easy" "this is boring" because, to her, it probably was. It made me feel quite invalidated and bad about myself. It was hard for me, as an anxious learner. My first lesson was from my house, to downtown RWC, straight onto the freeway, downtown San Mateo, and downtown Burlingame for a challenge. During the latter two areas I was not ready and there were way too many pedestrians around. I didn't speak up then and I regret it. I think coco is very suitable instructor for a lot of candidates, just not for fresh learners and anxious learners. This is just my opinion and experience. read more

Very kind and very patient teacher. Took a couple lessons and also was there when I was taking the driving test. The first lesson where she took me on the freeway through Burlingame and San Mateo, which was a little harrowing as I was was anxious and didn't really have much experience driving, but I did well I think. Completely unprofessional and rude. We didn't even get a chance to go on the lesson. It was just suspicious. Red flags! First she cancels my appointment 2 hours before because she got a flat tire. Cool! But then she sends me a photo that was taken a month ago...suspicious. Then I call her out on it (respectfully) and she starts to accuse me of not trusting anyone and then she says she can't trust me. She didn't believe that I had my permit. But prior to that she was fine with giving me a free lesson and allowing me to pay "next time" she even offered me a discount when I said I COULD pay full price...idk it just seemed sus like she was trying a little too hard to get me in the car. Too many red flags! Update: This woman has threatened me through text immediately after I posted my review. She said she was going to find me through my IP address and then she threatened to sue me. She also claims that I don't have a permit (which I do, she had no problem with me showing her my permit in person until after I brought up the old photo) and she claims I didn't give her an address (which I did, I gave her a location to meet). I've remained courteous throughout. She also kept contacting me after I told her not to. Nothing I've written is false.
