During CoVID my UK drivers license expired. I couldn't go home to renew it so I applied for a US driver's license. The process starts at the beginning and it's so much harder than when I was 17. But the real obstacle is the car. You can't rent a car for a driving test. If you borrow a car from a friend, they have to have a US driver's license and turn up on the hour with their car and the insurance papers. It's a huge imposition to ask a friend to stand around for 3-4 hours during a workday. The only solution is to pay a driving school. I surveyed the market and there was just one standout: Coco's Driving School. Coco had so much positive energy and enthusiasm that there was no contest. She wanted to pick me up an hour early so she could give me a mock driving test in the area and drill me on local laws. I feel like words can't express enough about how lucky I am to have Coco as my driving instructor and how much I appreciate her! I didn't have experience of driving at all and I was really nervous before my first lesson, especially when Coco asked me to take the driver's seat and start right away. Friendly, patient and on time. I took 2 lessons before the test and passed. All the paperwork is handled smoothly and it is great that we have a one hour warm up before the test to get me in the zone. Car is new and it can conquer the hills of SF no problem. I wanted to get my license asap and so I went for SF DMV for my test. I was very nervous even though I have drove on the right hand vehicles. Turns out it is not as bad and we managed to drive around downtown and Russian hill for my first lesson. The new car definitely help in making me feel safe when driving on the hills. As for the test itself, the instructor helped me choose a timeslot that is not busy. She is familiar with the staff of SF DMV which I think helps with the paperwork, processes and confidence in driving alot. I recommended her to my other 2 friends and she offered us a group discount. I am so happy to have found Coco!!!! I had two sessions with her, one 2-hour driving lesson and a practice test. I've had negative driving experiences in the past, so I was very nervous (especially as an adult learner), but Coco was very kind and helpful. Coco is fantastic, patient, organized, helpful, etc. She's a great instructor for beginners and students with anxiety. She's very supportive and wants you to pass and get your driver's license. I recently took about 6 hours of refresher lessons with Coco before my driving test, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! She's the perfect balance of strict and calm--firm when necessary but also incredibly reassuring. What stood out to me was her approach to teaching. I really enjoyed learning to drive with her. She's patient, easy to talk to, and always made me feel comfortable, even when I was nervous. She explains things in a way that actually makes sense and never minded going over things again until I got it. She also did a great job getting me ready for the test. She knew the common routes examiners use, so we practiced those a lot, which helped me feel more confident on the day. Equally, I appreciated the fact she never rushed me. If I messed something up, we'd just go over it again until I felt better about it. By the time my test came around, I felt and ready. Coco is one of the best teachers of my life! I was so intimidated as an adult driver, and she made it so easy and also surprisingly fun. Working with Coco is full service, she picks you up, drops you off, is extremely accommodating and flexible with scheduling, and it is totally results oriented. I really got my license in no time. I cannot recommend her enough, I keep wanting to do more lesson lessons with her just to keep practicing after getting my license, but she told me that I need to save my money and practice with my fiancé!! I booked two sessions from Coco! She is a fabulous coach I have ever met. She is really patient to every detail I made wrong and tell me how to pass the test thoroughly. I had booked another driving school before but it doesn't turn out well for the results and I always get nervous when coach gets so serious but I don't have to worry any kinda of issue with coco! I passed my practical driving test with flying colours today! Coco was fantastic and went above and beyond to prepare me for my test. I am full license holder in Australia, so adjusting to the roads in Califronia was not completely different, but a little challenging. Coco picked me up from my place, drove me to the center and helped me practise for 2 hours before the test. She was determined to put me in the best position possible to pass and prepared me in such a short time frame. I took 3 lessons with Fiona, and passed the test with her. I got my license on the first try thanks to how well she prepared me. Overall the lessons are great and straight to the point.
