Recommend ordering to-go or opting for the Mesa location for dining-in. While the food is pretty decent, the restaurant's policy requiring customers to pay/leave within 10-15 minutes after eating just makes this place a 'pass' as a neighborhood favorite. I've dined-in at this location twice, and was disappointed with the customer service both times. The first experience resulted in multiple servers coming to the table every 2-5 minutes to ask if we needed anything else. Normally this would indicate exceptional service and attention to the customer, but we got the feeling they were pushing us to leave. Second visit I was shocked to see an actual sign notifying all customers about their customer policy on leaving after eating. I took a picture of the sign just to show friends, family, and colleagues as this is a bold move in any industry-more so in the competitive El Paso restaurant market. Unfortunately, the pic was lost after damage to my phone. Restaurant owners beware: market analysis from 2023 show inflation outpaced groceries so consumers are going out less and leery about trying new places. However they are willing to spend more $ at the restaurants they do frequent. This mostly impacts mid level restaurants. So unless El Paso is an anomaly, restaurants would do well to assess similar customer service policies. Needless to say, this is NOT a good go-to for me in this neighborhood. But if in a pinch-I may decide to order to-go, or better yet travel to the Mesa location instead for a more positive dining experience. read more

The corkage fee is only $10! I have to say their pizza is hands down the best in El Paso! Lovely thin crust, sauce that tastes homemade and nice ingredients. My only complaint is the antipasti which is a type of charcuterie board. The amount of ingredients aren't portioned well. Too much prosciutto (which was just ok) the pears were Terribly over ripe, yuck! 4 small olives and 7 pieces (and I do mean pieces) of walnuts and goat cheese. It's a bit hard to divide up the items evenly. But the bread is so incredibly delicious and satisfying that you kinda forget about that. I want to go back and try their desserts. Honestly, I don't see why this place has this much negativity. Went with some family, and we loved it! We walk in, and get the roasted vegetables, which came out instantly and were delicious. If you're looking for good pizza then this is the spot! Pizza is freshly made and thin so you don't get as bloated. The appetizer was as fresh and delicious. We even took some to go because even though it's thin it fills you up. We got seated in about 6 minutes on a very busy day. The waitress helped us out a lot by giving us detailed descriptions of the plates. We found out you can also bring in your bottle of wine. An option I saw used commonly that night. My wife and I went to Cafe Italia and it exceeded all expectations. We had two salads and the smoked pizza as well as the bread. The bread was hot out of the oven and delicious. It also came with seasoned butter. The salads were fresh and you could tell the mozzarella on the caprese salad was homemade. The pizza was straight out of the oven. We added mushrooms, which were fresh-not out of a can. The crust was amazing. Service was excellent and food was timed perfectly. We went on a Saturday night and as expected, it was busy. Not a problem though. We waited for about 30 minutes to be seated. The table we got was at the very front corner of the restaurant and there was a pole right in the corner on the bench side of the table so we were a little cramped with two people on that side. The tables are very close to each other so we couldn't even move ours much to give us more space. The menu is not very big which isn't always a bad thing. However, I would have liked a little more variety. We ordered pizza, salad and pasta, all which were very good. The only disappointment I had was they only serve beer and wine with a very limited selection, only three wines ($35 a bottle) and 4 beers (one being cider) to choose from. You are allowed to bring your own wine for a $10 corkage fee and we saw several others bringing in their own bottles. Overall, an ok experience but more than likely will not to return. read more

Had a simple but nice bridal shower there on a Saturday, it was beautiful! The owner and staff were very helpful and very accommodating, even though there is no partition that separates the area, they let us decorate so we had our own section. They even changed their music and played love songs and the bride-to-be was feeling very special. Food was excellent and elegant, French style brunch. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Restaurant closes at 9:55pm they play music so laud that there is no way you can stay longer to finish your meal, which is ridiculous because yesterday night they offered us coffee and dessert at 9:45, which meant that we only had 10 minutes to finish. We were never warned that they were about to close. Waitress, manager and the owner didn't apologized for it arguing they were closing. I shared this with my friends and they say that this is a regular practice in both restaurants (at Cimarron and at Mesa) So disappointed for this, we will never go back. read more

For anyone wanting to dine at Café Italia Cimarron, don't. We came in for dinner and waited 40 minutes for our table with no questions or problems. They don't take reservations, it is first come, first served. We were seated, ate our dinner, and were each finishing a glass of wine (only about an hour after we were seated) when the manager came to our table to inform us that a large party was waiting for our table. He asked us how long we would be and we said not long. He pressed us for an actual amount of time so I said 20 minutes. He said absolutely not, you have 5 to 10 minutes. I reminded him that we were paying customers and would not be forced from our table. He left without saying anything. He returned about 10 minutes later to urge us once again away from our table. This time we were fed up and left. Will never eat here again which is so sad because we love eating here. read more

Visited Cafe Italia yesterday for the first time with my family for my birthday and it exceeded our expectations. From the moment you enter and leave the place you are greeted by a nice host. Great ambiance and perfect music selection. Our waiter( Fernando? Not sure if that was his name sorry) was wonderful and went above and beyond to make us feel great and welcomed. We ordered pasta, pizza and the house pear salad which they were all delicious! the draft beer was great too. Not to mention the hot baked bread right out of the oven. I'm glad I didn't come to yelp to look at the reviews before our visit as I see a lot of people complaining about the owner rushing you to get out of the door.
