I had the BEST kayak tour on Saturday with James. We went at 9 am and saw manatees(!!!) about 5 minutes into the tour and dolphins shortly thereafter. The sun was out, and it was HOT, but once we hit the tunnels and the wind blew, it felt great. Be advised: If you're paddling in a tandem boat with a romantic partner and y'all aren't on good terms, you will probably be on worse terms after this excursion. The mangrove tunnels are TIGHT and low, which makes for tricky navigating . One thing I really appreciated about the tour was that James took photos of each party right before we loaded into the boats and another time when we were in the tunnels. Great for memories! Next time I'm in Cocoa Beach, I'll definitely go again.

Our guide, Jack, was fantastic! He was so accommodating to our family. As a local to the area, Jack was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. He took us to all the best spots to see manatees, alligators, jellyfish, and dolphins. Bonus perk, Jack took photos during the tour that were emailed to us shortly after our tour. The daytime kayak tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Definitely recommend doing this tour if you're in the Cocoa Beach area!

Like many people from the mid-Atlantic, we've been to Florida a lot and after a while it becomes challenging to find different & new things to do. Thankfully I remembered a review from my Yelp friend Ray T. about this place and with that, an idea was born. The setup here is very easy. Head to the CK website and either search by the tour type or even better you can search by date. www.cocoakayaking.com/ After you pay, emails are sent about what you might/could bring with you, directions for where you need to go and waivers that need to be filled out. We chose the late night, as in 2230 start time, Thousand Islands Bioluminescent Kayak Tour. This was a good choice. Why? The dumb luck that it was just the four of us on basically a private tour and since we got there a bit early, we could start a bit early for some extra time on the water. (The below is the area where this tour starts from.) www.google.com/maps/place/Cocoa+Kayaking/@28.3105829,-80.6288748,17z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x88de0294a655c9b7:0x5a01fae187dc770a!8m2!3d28.3141078!4d-80.6350338!16s%2Fg%2F11cn5r50__?entry=ttu Our guide Chris gave us some good background regarding what we were looking for, the types of wildlife we could see (fingers crossed on the no shark thing) and some history of the area. For the sake of full disclosure, we did but we didn't see much in terms of wildlife. We scared the hell out of a Great Blue Heron sitting on part of a sea wall, there was plenty of the blue colored dinoflagellates in the water but only one comb jelly could be found. Chris thought he heard a dolphin at one point, but he didn't hear it a second time. Look Brother, by no means is the aforementioned verbiage meant to be a dig by me. Truth is truth and at the end of the day the entire experience is off the wall cool to be out kayaking, like Eric Clapton, after midnight, is something that you simply cannot do anywhere, legally and/or safely. What matters is that if we were back in the area, and at some point, we will be, would be do this again and the answer is a resounding Hell Yes! Maybe this tour again or maybe one of the others, I don't know but regardless the kayaks were great, Chris was a fab guide and a damn good time was had by all. A+

Do it!!!! You won't regret it. Excellent experience. We saw tons of dolphins, some pmanatees, large variety of birds, and much more. Such a neat experience seeing the mangroves and learning about the conservation efforts. Susie was an amazing guide and knew a lot. Hands down we will do this again!!!!

Great tour! I highly recommend it even for kids. We did the sunset and bioluminescence tour. The kids were getting a little anxious to see the bioluminescence because that didn't come until the very end of the tour. But we had a great tour guide and such a memorable experience.

Booked our trip way in advance and was glad I did. The 8pm tour was full but not too many people in a night. So, it was easy to maneuver in the group. We loved the whole experience from beginning to end. Jeremiah was professional. He answered my 1000 questions. Jeremiah did a fantastic job. There are not many places you can educate, exercise, socialize and have fun at a reasonable price, all at once.

    Dolphin!

We had a beautiful day with James as our tour guide. He showed us dolphins and manatees (some swam underneath our kayaks! James literally jumped in to help my husband search for his cell phone that fell in the murky water as we approached the end of the tour. (They couldn't find the phone sadly!) Definitely recommend this tour!

Susie and Jeff took us on the sunset tour. BRING BUG SPRAY! we got eaten up by mosquitos last night. Susie was extremely knowledgeable about the wild life out here and a very charismatic tour guide. Jeff was the glue and helped out the people who had trouble kayaking and was hilarious. They were both absolutely fantastic tour guides! I loved seeing the tree crabs, tarpon, mullets, manatees, sunset, and the bioluminescence!!!! This was the most fun we had all weekend here. 10/10.

We went out with Ian for the 9am Sunday "Thousand Islands Mangrove Tunnel" tour and it was absolutely fantastic. Obviously, Cocoa Kayaking can't control the weather so the fact that we had such a perfect day was part luck but I'm confident that Ian would've made it a great paddle regardless of the weather. The paddling is easy and the wind was light so we didn't have to work too hard. The trip through the mangrove tunnels was a highlight of the trip. We also paddled through a cluster of comb jellies that we could just pluck out of the water and look at. Ian was a great guide and talked to the kids at their level to help ease their concerns about alligators and snakes (neither of which are a risk on this paddle). He's been living in this area his whole life and had no shortage of stories to tell. Highly recommended -- I can't imagine how you wouldn't have a good time unless the weather was terrible. Full disclosure: We didn't see any dolphin or manatee .. that would've been nice, but this is nature after all. Can't have it all.

I did the wildlife refuge bioluminescent kayaking tour and the wildlife refuge manatee kayaking tour with tour guide Logan. He made a nice experience incredible. The nighttime kayaking tour was super cool, but the manatees were overwhelmingly amazing. Logan is knowledgeable and passionate about his work, he is also incredibly patient with newbie kayakers and paddle boarders. I highly recommend Cocoa Kayaking for all your kayaking excursions on the Space Coast. Another bonus is your tour guide takes pictures and videos for you, so you can be completely in the moment.

We took the evening tour and so glad we did! The scenery was beautiful, as was the sunset over the water. The mangroves were fun and a bit challenging for novice kayakers. Our guides Ian and Dave were patient as we manuevered through. They provided us with wonderful information and were very responsive to the 8 and 6 year olds we had with us. This is one tour I would do again!

Noah took us to see the manatees and we had so much fun!!! He's so knowledgeable and really made us a phenomenal experience. Definitely going to book again.

Such a fun day! James was an amazing guide! He pointed out any wildlife and gave us really cool explanations of what mangroves do. Totally recommend booking with them!

There were times when the paddling lane was so narrow that your kayak was touching a mangrove on both sides!

Great and relaxing tour! The Captain was very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife.read more

We had such a good experience on our Eco Tour Tuesday, that we came back the next day for a tour to…read morewatch the SpaceX rocket launch. Both were well worth the time and money. Of course wildlife isn't there simply to perform for humans. It's unreasonable to expect any guide to guarantee what or how many species you'll see on a tour. That said, Captain Barry diligently sought out delightful experiences with local wildlife. He found us dolphins hunting fish near bridges and the lock. Manatees foraging on the edges of the canal. Pelicans 'dive-bombing' for fish; herons and more. We also got additional information about local history and the port. The 4-6 person boat is clean, comfortable and well captained. The next day, we sailed to the edge of restricted Kennedy Space Center waters, and watched SpaceX launch a rocket deploying satellites into space. We'd seen a rocket launch last year at the Kennedy Space Center, on the main grounds. This Launch Tour was a MUCH better way to watch. SO much more comfortable and a much better view. After the launch, we expected to go right back to the dock, but Capt. Barry took the time to seek out more dolphins. They came much closer to the boat today than yesterday. So gorgeous. We highly recommend this tour company.
