We got the honey crisp sandwich on a croissant which came with turkey, apples, arugula and Brie cheese. This was fresh and light. The O Honey included ham, bacon, eggs and cheese and honey butter. I called Artisana Pizza and explained that an item I paid for was missing. I was told my options were to come to the restaurant and pick up the missing item myself or pay to have another DoorDash driver retrieve it. I explained that neither option was acceptable. I paid for an order to be delivered, and the restaurant failed to include everything I paid for. I should not have to spend additional money or drive to the restaurant to correct their mistake. I then asked for a refund for the item I never received. I was told that was not an option because they would have to void the entire transaction. Instead of trying to resolve the situation professionally, the employee became rude and argumentative with me and ultimately hung up the phone. I attempted to call back and could not get through. I've lived in the Dumfries area for 25 years, and I have never experienced customer service like this from a local restaurant. Mistakes happen--I understand that. What I cannot understand is refusing to provide a reasonable solution for an item a customer paid for but never received, then becoming disrespectful and hanging up when the customer asks for the issue to be corrected. This was not just about a missing item. It was about how the situation was handled. I was charged for something I did not receive and was essentially told that correcting their mistake would be at my own additional expense. Very disappointing and unacceptable customer service.
