This place is the yoga studio you have been looking for. (No seriously it really is) The teachers here, take you out of your head and into your body, then reconnect you with your mind. They lead each class and take the time to explain the practice and really meet you at your experience level. In every class I have ever taken, there are all different levels and really nothing else but love and breath in the room. A little hard to find, it's on the back side of the TJ Maxx in Miller Place (don't trust apple maps - that will take you to the totally wrong place), but once you do, it's a great little space. The studio itself is very long and narrow and very cozy. The lighting was perfect and the temperature too - warm, but not too hot and not at all cold. The class started on time and was a great vinyasa flow. Will def go back again! read more

So I've lived in 4 major cities, from LA to DC, over the last 5 years and I always try to find a studio home wherever I am. Cocomotion is, by far, my favorite studio that I have ever joined. I tried this place out on a groupon (though they do have an awesome new student 30 days for $30 deal) for a month and loved it. There is a diverse selection of yoga from vinyasa to restorative yoga as well as a basic class that is great for beginners. All of the teachers are knowledgeable and approachable; every single one has made an effort to learn my name before class, which means a lot. The proprietary class, Cocomotion, is a challenging vinyasa class offered several times daily. For the most part, it's a set sequence of asanas with opportunities throughout for each instructor to add new asanas to mix it up. This studio focuses on asana (poses) and pranayama (breath) and those two reasons are exactly why I go to yoga. In a class recently with Coco, the owner, was assisting me with a pose when he noticed I wasn't breathing and he said "Screw the pose, focus on your breath." I feel that summarizes Cocomotion perfectly. Yes, amazing instagram-esque poses look cool, but that's not why I practice. I am there to learn to be present so I can practice yoga every day in my life when I am off the mat. I love that you are encouraged at Cocomotion to push yourself outside of your comfort zone but to also be kind and in touch with yourself to know when you've reached your limit. There are students in attendance of all different levels so there is an awesome vibe of everyone contributing collectively to the amazing energy in classes. I have found other students at Cocomotion to be kind and encouraging...no pretentiousness here! Cocomotion is warm and welcoming and is a space for everyone! The studio uses the mind body app for scheduling, which is nice to be able to view the schedule and sign up on your phone. The studio can be hard to find. The entrance is located behind Marshall's. You can easily find it by turning left from Miller Place Road if coming from 25a. There is plenty of parking. There is also a studio in Patchogue and one opening up in Setauket so there is no excuse not to get your flow on! read more

Cocomotion is an excellent studio with knowledgeable teachers and awesome music. You might find yourself humming or singing along. But that's ok because Coco probably will already be singing and/or dancing. Coco and his teachers are genuine yoga teachers. They want to help you get stronger and help your unique practice evolve. This fabulous studio is about not taking yourself so seriously. It is about having fun and getting healthier. There is a wide range of ages and ability levels that practice with Coco. I am in my 50's and have been practicing for about 7 years. I have only recently started practicing with Coco, and he has brought my practice to a whole new level. I've lived in a lot of places, and have jumped around to my fair share of yoga studios, and nothing is quite like this one. If you are looking to have some fun, be challenged, and learn something new (big or small) every time you step foot on your mat, this place is for you. We sweat, we laugh, we flow, and sometimes on the last plank may even shed a tear (only happy tears). My husband had never done yoga before trying Cocomotion, and now we've been going together for over a year! So thankful for this place and how it has impacted us, both on and off the mat. I never write Yelp reviews but was frustrated enough to write one for this business. I absolutely love yoga and have practiced it at different studios across country, though I have only been to Cocomotion twice. My first experience was one that I enjoyed and I found the instructor to be really empowering, body positive, and just all around encouraging. This of course prompted me to take a second class, though this one was with a different instructor. I had a very different experience, a couple of the instructor's practices not being compatible with my hopes and expectations for a yoga class. After this class, I wrote an e-mail to the studio just so that they could understand where I was coming from and try to create a more inclusive studio dynamic for their clients. Of course, there are plenty of positive reviews of the studio and I have enjoyed past experiences, but I am frustrated with the studio's inability to respond or recognize the experiences I have had with this particular class, hence the rating. I will likely not be returning. read more

This is the family you never knew you had. I was looking to find a place where my daughter and I could practice and I was invited with open arms. Coming primarily from a gym and bodybuilding background, I was looking to supplement my training with a yoga practice but after my first month the pendulum switched and Cocomotion is now my gym. The classes are designed to challenge any level of yoga practice and while is it not in anyway "hot yoga" you find yourself getting an amazing sweat throughout the workout. It's not the room, it is you that creates the heat. While any studio will offer a well designed asana practice, the community that Coco has nurtured will keep you coming back. I find myself getting to class early and staying after just to spend time with everyone. These are some of the most welcoming and inclusive humans you will ever meet. I can't say enough good things.
