Dear YELP Readers,…read more This is what I wrote to Ramona of Le Fevre Inn and Resort in Galena IL after the 4 Sista Girls Spent a wonderful Weekend retreat there !!!! The Sista Girl Club Can't Wait to Go BACK to LeFevre Inn & Resort and Galena given it's awesome scenic, quaint, friendly, and culturally diverse surroundings. It started about 6 months out when the owner Ramona responded to my many inquiries quickly and with great suggestions and discounts. We actually spent Friday, October 6 through Sunday, October 8th, 2017 there which was in the middle of the County Fair which was an unexpected added bonus. The ~ 3 hour drive was priceless as we drove up to paradise. The photos don't give it justice; the Gazebo, Pavilion, outdoor fire pit, indoor fire place, and our all equipped cozy inn with the cute balcony and "BAR" : that's another story for another time ;) and private parking was more than accommodating. Even the cloudy, misty, partly sunny, 60 to 70 degree weather didn't deter the four of us from having a great time. The quick easy 2 x a day drive into Galena downtown was full of wonderful surprises starting with Denise and our highly recommended Tri-State Trolley one hour tour back into Historical time and our driver/tour guide Johnny was full of character, fun facts, and great stories. Shopping at Poopsies for sum thin sum thin you never thought you would want; you'll get IT when you get there;was hilarious and the sales people jumped in to make us feel HAPPY and the discounts were priceless. Brunch at tasty Las Aztecas and Dinner at the Famous Fried Green Tomatoes was fabulous with quick friendly, service, cozy welcoming ambience, plenty of food, and huge variety of drinks. Twice we just had to stop and return to Galena's River Wine and Cheese where owners Bryon and Julie and the gang treated us special; great free tasting of wine, cheese, olive oils, dips...specially made. We did leave a lil sum thin sum thin behind for y'all to purchase. We will be back and I'm preparing my Sista Girl Scrapbook to share our experience with our family and friends. I won't go into too many details, but I inadvertently booked our reservation, along with our friends' reservation, at the wrong hotel!! Thanks to an assist from Bill Griffen from Boyd Gaming/Grand Harbor, the hotel switch was made. However, we will be traveling with good friends and they were having difficulty making a reservation. Nothing is simple! Needless to say, this became complicated, but Antoine completely understood the situation, booked all of our rooms with very good rates and I'm so happy he answered my call! A total professional who took the time to listen and understand our complicated reservations. We are looking forward to our stay this summer and, once again, thank you, Antoine!!

Doctor confirmed it folliculitis from the waterpark and said she also treated another kid from the same one some time ago. The TVs were straight out of the 90's no ability to stream as even cheap hotels do now. You had to wait 30 minutes to go up or down on the elevator. The continental breakfast was an absolute joke with a line that was an hour long. Literally worst waterpark hotel I have ever been to. Stay away!

Memorial Day weekend 2022 my family stayed at Pine Point Lodge in Potosi Wi. The cabin that we…read morestayed in was "Bullwinkle". First of all the cabins are located close to town, close to a main road yet secluded. Where do I start...the cabin itself was very nice. It was decorated to give you the cabin vibe. It was very clean and provided everything that you would need except for your food and clothing. I mean there is even spices to cook with in here! More dishes than you would need and a dishwasher (including soap!!). A very nice fire pit area with nice wooden chairs and benches (no need to bring your campchairs). There is a first aid kit just in case. Bedding and blankets provided so no need to bring yours, plenty of blankets and pillows. These folks have gone over and above to make sure that you enjoy your stay at Pine Point Lodge. Mark and Jo, you get a 5-STAR rating from us!!

We have a group of us that have stayed here several times. This year we had to cancel our…read morereservations on August 1 for our October 20-22 weekend. 2 days later we were all charged a $50.00 cancellation fee for a total of $200.00. Just wanted everyone to note their cancellation policy. We had given over 70 days notice that we were unable to make our trip this year, but it doesn't matter the $50.00 is their set cancellation fee. I would also mention that the air quality in the log cabins is awful!! We opened our windows, bought air fresheners and nothing got rid of the musty moldy smell that permeated the cabin and irritated our sinuses and lungs. This was not a one time experience, we noticed the smell on at least 2 of our stays among several cabins. It was so bad that the last reservation (cancelled one), we had all booked their other cabins, not the log cabins. I have told our group to count me out if they decide to go back, just left a bad vibe with me.

We had a mini-fridge stocked with muffins and drinks. The Hostess was extremely attentive. The rooms/cabins are nicely appointed - our room (and many others) has a 2-person jaccuzi for a relaxing soak. We chose this place because it was so close to Galena and Dubuque for dining and fun things to do. We will certainly return.
