I'll be honest: I was somewhat worried. I don't have a lot of experience with roadside motels, but oftentimes they can be kinda dingy and gross, so I was a bit concerned about what I'd find here. My concerns were completely unfounded. The place was so clean; housekeeping deserves every tip they get! The owner was super nice and had sent me a text a few hours before they closed (as I was just about to pull out from my house, actually) to ensure I was going to be arrive and make arrangements for keys if it would be after 10. Luckily I made it around 9:30 so no problems. It was really comfortable, and the room I was in was surprisingly large. The beds were comfortable. They have a small fridge and microwave in the room, very helpful! There's a pool at the place, which I didn't use but it was pretty popular. It's also larger than I expected because there are some rooms along the backside of the place too, facing the yard, picnic tables, and fire pit. I better mention that the toilets were good because my significant other mentioned them several times, lol. You know how they can be low sometimes? These were slightly taller than toilets often are and that's good. The rooms have small outdoor tables and chairs as well for folks to hang out outside, which is nice on a warm summer evening. It's next door to the distillery, which I didn't visit on this trip but can't say I wouldn't on another one. And the place is about a 3 minute drive from Main Street, so really nicely situated if you don't want to be down in the thick of everyone but would like to be within easy reach. They also rent out U-Haul's so you'll see them and the drop box here. I've already recommended it to friends who have gone to Galena for their future visits, and I will definitely stay here if it's available next time I'm in Galena, and may well plan the dates to ensure I can stay here.

This is probably the cheapest to stay in the Galena area. The beds are ok. One big thing for me is the price was right and they allow dogs.

Quiet, clean, affordable, pet-friendly. The staff are kind to boot. Best place to stay in Galena if you travel with a pet.

It is in winter so we didn't sit out side but in the back they had a fire pit and a nice yard.

We loved the lush fresh flower arrangements in our room and throughout the entire inn. The common areas (breakfast area/living on main floor and the outdoor patio) are similarly beautiful, with comfortable seating and beautiful vistas. The food - from the afternoon appetizer/cheese/wine tray to the incredible breakfast - was really delicious. And I could go on. If you're at all contemplating a stay in Galena, this is the place to go! It is romantic, quiet, nurturing, luxurious.

For instance, the carpeting was what you would find in a mansion. The linens and towels were luxurious. We were provided with a bottle of wine and appetizers in the evening. There was a nice variety and a more than ample amount. Breakfast in the morning was out of this world! 3 Courses!!! Entrees were expertly prepared and delicious -- and healthy! Probably our favorite was the steel-cut oats with fruit and a banana foster sauce -- YUM! Again, these portions were very generous. Our host, Matthew, was very kind and attentive. I don't think there are enough superlatives to describe our experience!

This hotel seemed to have touches much classier than many of the hotels that are now part of the Wyndham family. There was a nice bar/ lounge where they also serve breakfast and a very large indoor pool. They also have a big deck outside (it was too stinking hot to use but it looked nice). Even a gift shop/ salon. The room was nice and obviously recently updated (the whole hotel appears to have been refreshed). The decor is nice and the extra sink outside the bathroom was nice. The major downside was the horrible water pressure in the shower. Is there a water shortage in northwest Illinois? This was worse than many hotels in California. Other than this issue the room was good especially at the price we paid. The breakfast was on par with other chains of this caliber though they did have real plates and silverware and the pancake machine! Would stay here again when in the area.

Dear YELP Readers,…read more This is what I wrote to Ramona of Le Fevre Inn and Resort in Galena IL after the 4 Sista Girls Spent a wonderful Weekend retreat there !!!! The Sista Girl Club Can't Wait to Go BACK to LeFevre Inn & Resort and Galena given it's awesome scenic, quaint, friendly, and culturally diverse surroundings. It started about 6 months out when the owner Ramona responded to my many inquiries quickly and with great suggestions and discounts. We actually spent Friday, October 6 through Sunday, October 8th, 2017 there which was in the middle of the County Fair which was an unexpected added bonus. The ~ 3 hour drive was priceless as we drove up to paradise. The photos don't give it justice; the Gazebo, Pavilion, outdoor fire pit, indoor fire place, and our all equipped cozy inn with the cute balcony and "BAR" : that's another story for another time ;) and private parking was more than accommodating. Even the cloudy, misty, partly sunny, 60 to 70 degree weather didn't deter the four of us from having a great time. The quick easy 2 x a day drive into Galena downtown was full of wonderful surprises starting with Denise and our highly recommended Tri-State Trolley one hour tour back into Historical time and our driver/tour guide Johnny was full of character, fun facts, and great stories. Shopping at Poopsies for sum thin sum thin you never thought you would want; you'll get IT when you get there;was hilarious and the sales people jumped in to make us feel HAPPY and the discounts were priceless. Brunch at tasty Las Aztecas and Dinner at the Famous Fried Green Tomatoes was fabulous with quick friendly, service, cozy welcoming ambience, plenty of food, and huge variety of drinks. Twice we just had to stop and return to Galena's River Wine and Cheese where owners Bryon and Julie and the gang treated us special; great free tasting of wine, cheese, olive oils, dips...specially made. We did leave a lil sum thin sum thin behind for y'all to purchase. We will be back and I'm preparing my Sista Girl Scrapbook to share our experience with our family and friends. Love and Hugs, Sistas Belinda/Heart, Sheila/Free, Darlene/Sunshine, and me, Linda "Too Tall"/Happy I would love to try and take advantage of your very generous offer...I will pass this along to the other Sista Girls to see if they can afford it. I may need to pass since I have to pay for a destination wedding in 6 months...for a friend :) Love and Many Hugs, Sista Linda Too Tall Happy PS: Have also shared the Good/G-D news on Trip Advisor too.
