I discovered coconut smiles dentistry through a mutual friend. In the past I haven't had the best luck finding the PERFECT dentist for my kids, so I was willing to give anything a try. When we came to our first appointment we were welcomed with great warmth and enthusiasm. The staff is efficient and super friendly. The office itself has a beautiful relaxing ambiance paired with a waiting room that has a Pac-Man machine and other very engaging and entertaining toys for kids. Before starting treatment Dr. Merrisa's first priority was that the kids feel comfortable and confident. By their second treatment my kids were even more eager to come back for their follow up. I brought my (almost) 1 year old here for his first dentist visit. I wanted an office that was calm and not intimidating for my shy baby, and Coconut Smiles was the most wonderful experience for us. From the moment I called to make the appointment, I knew we'd be in such good hands. I am so impressed with how clean and calm the space is, and all of the thoughtful touches to make it so welcoming for the kids. Travis is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met- he was so warm over the phone, and the second we walked in for our appointment he greeted my son by name and was just so inviting, and lovely, and energetic. You can tell he takes so much pride in his work and wants kids and parents alike to feel as welcomed and comfortable as possible. The waiting area has some great toys and books for the kids, and my son particularly LOVED the views of the Torrance Airport from the exam chairs. Dr. Marissa was very kind and explained the process and plan before starting anything and was very quick but thorough in her exam and cleaning. I am just absolutely blown away by how beautiful the space is, how wonderful the staff is, and I never thought that I would say I can't wait to go back to the dentist! I'm so glad I found Coconut Smiles Pediatric Dentistry! The office is new, modern, and trendy -- very welcoming from the moment you walk in. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. Plus, there's plenty of parking, which is always a bonus! After going to another pediatric dental office for 4 years, we had two unfortunate experiences with tooth extractions. They were rushed, and they didn't allow enough time for the anesthesia to take full effect -- which made things really stressful for my child. That's when we decided to try Coconut Smile, and I'm so happy we did! Dr. Marissa and Travis were amazing with my 7-year-old. They were so patient and really took their time, making sure the numbing cream and anesthesia had fully kicked in before starting. Dr. Marissa was especially careful and detailed when applying the numbing cream -- and I truly appreciated that level of care. My son had two teeth extracted (and neither were wiggly!), and he didn't feel a thing. He walked out smiling -- and so did I! We love everything about going to Coconut Smiles! Travis and Dr.Marissa are so friendly, professional, and gentle with my kids. We have come for a cleaning and an extraction now. My 5 yr old said having his two teeth removed was too easy! That's how enjoyable it was. They have tv's on the ceiling for the kids to watch. So many fun toys in the lobby to play with. When you first walk into the office you're greeted with a friendly face, the office feels very calming. Travis greeted us and made us feel so welcomed. Great waiting area with a variety of toys, games ,and books for all ages! My daughter is 6 and loves the mini arcade. Dr. Marissa and her assistant Travis are so patient and made sure my daughter was comfortable and talked her through everything that was going on. She had her height and weight taken, then X-rays. Travis did a great job making sure my daughter was comfortable during her cleaning. My daughter was able to pick a movie to watch during her cleaning. My girls and I really loved going to this pediatric dentist. Travis and Dr. Melissa are great! Walking into the office, I was greeted with a friendly smile from Travis and although we were running a bit late he was still very patient with us. My 2 girls ran over to the games right away and didn't want to go get their check up because they were very entertained with the Pac Man game, Baby Shark table/puzzle, and the other books that were available to them. While I was completing the forms, Travis took the time to check in on my girls and help them with the games. We were able to get a tour of the office and everything was very clean and organized, not to mention the view the patients have of the Torrance Airport. Dr. Melissa and Travis made the check up for my daughter very pleasant and made sure that she was comfortable, by giving her glasses to avoid the light getting in her eyes and having a TV for her to watch. After her check-up they both explained the recommended treatment very carefully and made sure that I understood my options and had all my questions answered. A definite plus for me here is that they offer appointments later in the day and limited Saturday appointments as well, great option for parents that can't make it during the morning or early PM time slot. read more
