I eat-in or take-away from here every few weeks. It's reliably good, some dishes are excellent, I've never had anything I've been unhappy with. The Wellesley restaurant is small, very small. Six tables, seats a dozen or so. They've a large table under an umbrella out in front during nice weather. However much of their business is take-away so the size is rarely an issue. It's a pleasant space, nothing fancy or romantic but it's comfortable, clean, appropriately lit, some interesting art. The service is prompt, very helpful, and friendly. Surprisingly (gratifyingly) for New England the dishes they indicate are spicy are indeed piquant. However they're very accommodating about adjusting dishes by request, though I've also heard them explain to customers that making such-and-such "bland" isn't possible, the curry is the flavor the curry is, how about (they'll suggest something with similar ingredients)? My personal favorite dish is Pad Kee Mow, Drunken Noodles. Thick ribbons of wide noodles in a spicy sauce, fresh stir-fried vegetables, and (my order) pork. A classic Thai dish prepared impeccably. Pair this with something milder for the less fortunate and it's a great meal for two. read more

Really fast delivery service! I ordered drunken noodles with beef and my food arrived within 20mins! It was hot and delicious and the portion was HUGE (especially for the price- I think it was only $10.5 plus delivery charge). I really liked the the fact they they put a variety of different veggies in it, unlike many other places where they often just put onion and peppers. I've only done take out at this location so I can't say much to the service it seems like some people who gave bad reviews complained about. Honestly, I only care about the food for a small restaurant like this! Placing an online order is a breeze on their website and street parking is usually plentiful right in front. I'm not Thai, but the food and flavors taste authentic to me. I'd put it on par with other great Thai restaurants like Rod Dee and Dok Bua. I have eaten here for about five or six times now, having tried many items on the menu. I must say that this place is very good and price is wonderful for lunch hours. The Tom Yum noodle soup is excellent here. It's really a dish I don't often eat, but I already ate three there in one month! I see other comments on the food being bland. I really don't want the owner to read this and start adding more salt. People are too used to over salted takeout food from Asian places. Major Disappointment. I had a major meeting for work today, and I ordered scallops, shrimp, and squid for the entire team. They sent very few shrimp, no scallops, no squid, and white rice instead of the brown rice I requested. We will not order from them again. Do not going you like good Thai food. The sate chicken was dry and the peanut sauce very bland. The veggie stir fry was 25% canned bamboo shoots (yes canned) smelling and teasing of the MSG they come marinated in. Yuck! The masaman curry duck was ok but the veggies were too undercooked. Coconut Thai serves pretty good Thai food at very low prices. There's almost no seating, but they have some outdoor tables when the weather's nice. It's right on Route 16 and a good place for high schoolers to get lunch. read more

Top notch Thai food. My favorite dish is the Ra Nah noodles with beef. Tender beef with large wide noodle and their sauce is spicy and sweet. The first time I visited I ordered pad thai but I quit this place because it was too oily. I personally believe if their pad thai (signature dish for any thai restaurant) is not good, then everything else is bad. A friend recommended this place to me, so I came back again and ordered the broccoli stir fry with rice and duck a few times. It's relatively more expensive than other places because the portion is very small. However, the taste is balanced and has nice flavors. Today Was a beautiful day to sit outside in the sun and enjoy lunch. When I go here I get the coconut lime soup with chicken. It is very flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Last saturday my family and I went excitedly to our previously favorite Thai place for a supposed fun family lunch which turned sour and ruined our afternoon. T he lady who manages and waitresses the small restaurant did not even crack a smile or greet us and in fact, made us feel as though she was doing us a favor by giving us a table. We had to ask for water, she threw the menus in the middle of the table instead of handing one to each of us and we had to then once again request that she take our order. (There was no one else in the restaurant). She did not come to check on us, and instead spent time on her computer. When the bill came, she just handed over the total, without the itemized receipt. It seemed quite high, and when we asked her for the itemized receipt, her attitude further developed and her response to my brother (who was a regular there) was "Don't you trust me? Why you need to see receipt?" Turns out that she had included the gratuity without informing us. If you do eat there, please make sure you check the bill. Sadly, we all left with a bad feeling from the lunch and her attitude. We are going to pass on the message that this is an avoidable place solely due to the grumpy woman who is the "face" of it. We will move on to better Thai places where they are happy to have customers, not to coconut thai where we felt as though we were not wanted. My friend and I always come here for lunch on Fridays. The food is good- but I've experienced better. The daytime waitress/hostess there isn't too friendly-- only friendly to people she is acquainted to. We noticed that the few times we ate there. If you want good customer service, definitely not the place to go. Otherwise, the food is decent. read more

For Wellesley-land, this place is a steal. Really good thai food, priced right, large portions. Nom noms! It's a pain like no other to park in The Hills, but grin and bear it and get your butt to this cute litle joint. It's not exactly a sit-down kind of place (there are a few tables tightly clustered together), but they try and add a little atmosphere with some music and fountains. No better place for Thai take-out in the area. The food is always tasty and prepared in an instant. The manager is very friendly and is always happy to see me. She even gives great recommendations on new dishes to try. It's just a small shop, so not a great dine-in experience - but if you're looking for tasty, affordable take-out for lunch, you will not be disappointed! By far my favorite place for lunch at work. Good Thai food. I go with the Pad See-You almost every time. Great dish I also like it spicy and they are happy to kick it up. Staff is friendly. Not sure why this place only has 3.5 stars because it is by far the best Thai place I've been to. I always have Thai when I travel and out of the Thai food I've had in Orlando, Boston, New York, and London, the best massaman curry and pad see ew are in Wellesley. I used to get take out (very fast service!) almost every weekend when I went to college near there but now that I live in Boston I make the drive as much as I can. We had grilled tofu appetizer, with ginger sauce at one of the staff's recommendation, and cashew stir fry with tofu and mixed veggies.
