I feel bad writing this review as it appears the owner is really struggling to survive. I am gluten free and finding an option last minute was difficult. I ordered on a whim despite the previous reviews and I should have paid more attention. When you walk into the restaurant to pick up your food the right side is covered with the owners personal belongings like kids toys and a protein shake mix. Those things don't belong in a restaurant. I ordered Pad Thai and another dish. Both were bland and unremarkable. Both didn't have any flavor. I did ask for gluten free but not salt free. Even the Pad Thai wasn't properly sauced. I figured a community like Wellesley with an international College would have more gluten free options but again I was sorely disappointed. read more

I've tried so many items on the menu and honestly, I wish I could give Lemon Thai a better rating because it was a decent component of my college years in the area. But the food is more on the unauthentic side. Many of my friends enjoy the crispy chicken pad thai but I personally think it's simply fried bad pieces of very fatty/glands-like parts of the chicken over an unauthentic, flavorless pad thai. None of their appetizers stand out to me. Honestly, my favorite thing in this restaurant is their wonton soup or vegetable soup and it's just passable. Delivery is almost always a gooey, bland goop even though Lemon Thai is only ten minutes away. Their lunch specials are simply a dollar less than the dinner prices for select menu items. The Yum Nua salad was really refreshing but the beef was very tough. The fried dumplings were good but the skins were a bit thick and the fillings were just not that juicy. Lemon Thai is a Wellesley College student favorite that should not be missed! In my four years at Wellesley, I never once set foot in the actual restaurant but ordered here at least once a week. I finally went to the restaurant several years after I graduated and it was still just as good as I remembered. Their takeout service is very quick and friendly! The food is fresh, delicious, and well made. They do a nice job of having a wide variety of items on the menu. For appetizers, you can't go wrong with the fresh rolls, crab rangoons, scallion pancakes, or dumplings. When it comes to the main course, go for the drunken chicken, crispy chicken pad thai, or basil fried rice. I only wish I lived closer so I could still order here. read more

I was really craving Thai and soup. Thanks Yelpers for steering me here for take out. It was late and thankfully Lemon Thai was still opened. So many have commented on the Pad Thai being the best they've had so I ordered the Country Style mild. I figured I'd stay on the safe side since every place has a different hot. Next time I will go with med since I could have gone for a bit hotter. I like my chicken cut up in to smaller pieces but there was plenty of chicken and shrimp. Mr. G had already eaten and wasn't hungry but once he saw it he had to try some. Well he ate some and then I found him eating what little leftovers there were for breakfast. I didn't figure he was eating toast when I saw his chopsticks. He promises me he will get me another order but I think he is really saying he is getting another order. I also got the Tom Yum Noodle Soup which had lots of ground chicken, noodles, bean sprouts with a great lemon grass broth. The noodles came in a separate container which was nice that they didn't get soggy. Since it was so late there were parking places right up front. It only took 10 mins from the time I called for my order to be ready. They do deliver but only in Wellesley, Weston, Natick, Needham and Newton so it looks like I will be drive over for my next order. They have many options to pick from which may pose as an issue. Hmmm Create your own stir-fry from 11:30-4 for lunch, soft shell crab, curry dishes, I also love basil fried rice. Ok so maybe I will be going more than once more time. The place is a bit small on the inside so I can see how this can be more of a take out place but it did have a cozy feel which was welcoming. read more

I havent eaten at Lemon Thai since before the pandemic. We landed late and i ordered takeout tonight. What a disappointment. The Coconut Soup had one piece of chicken in it, the Golden Bags were full of corn, with little to no meat in them. Needless to say, we won't be back. Overpriced for mediocre food. It seems like the quality, spiciness, and taste rely heavily on what you order. Avoid the pad thai! Just don't do it! Curries also not as good in my opinion. Basil fried rice, pad see ew, papaya salad, mango sticky rice, and pad krapow are great. The owners are a little grumpy in the most pleasant way. read more

I really think the greater Boston area could use better Thai food. The stir-fry methods were rather 'flat' and the flavors did not speak out as well as I would expect a Thai restaurant would be. I've dined in three times, and all of those experiences were very positive. The food comes in very large portions, and the quality is pretty good! Price is very reasonable. I've ordered delivery countless times. The fee is reasonable, and the delivery time is swift. I have noticed that for certain dishes (namely the Pad Thai), the quality goes down a little for delivery. The Pad Thai I got once was really dry and of a strange texture, something I didn't experience when I got the same dish at the restaurant. The entrees I typically switch between when ordering delivery and would highly recommend are the mango fried rice, Indonesian fried rice, Pad See Ew, and Pad Kee Mao. i waited to review this place because i wanted one last taste before i could review. well, what can i say? i've been eating here as a wellesley student and after going back with a more refined palate, i still have no complaints. however, i will say this: CRAB RANGOON. Yes, it's a disgusting mesh of cream cheese and imitation crab meat but if i ever knew i couldn't get this anywhere on the west coast, i would have hoarded it even more. this time around, i made sure i ordered it and happily enjoyed each and every oozy delight of salty/sweet, crispy/soft medley! the scallion pancake is also pretty rare in west coast thai places, though i have seen it once or twice around LA. the chicken in love sounded cute so i got it but it's basically just chicken in peanut sauce. if you like peanut, you'll like the dish. i give most of my 4 stars to the beloved crab rangoon! read more

I've been here a few times and always thought it was a decent average Thai restaurant however my latest visit was so-so. I was not pleased with their Pad Thai, it was very dry and the noodles tasted old. Pad Thai is a traditional dish at any Thai restaurant so for a chef to not cook it right, it's highly disappointing! I also ordered crab ragoons and Tom Yum soup as starters. The soup was pretty good, enough spices. The crab ragoons came out cold and not the typically filling...can't describe the taste, but it wasn't bad nor great. I think after this last visit, I don't think I'll be back for awhile...which is unfortunate since it's close to home! read more

As a vegetarian, asian restaurants are always problematic. Regardless of what is written on the menu, most dishes listed as 'vegetarian' actually contain some non-vegetarian ingredients (for the vast majority of asian restaurants at least). Chinese restaurants can't help themselves but to use chicken stock in 'vegetarian' soups and other dishes supposedly aimed towards vegetarians, and Thai restaurants nearly always have fish oil in dishes specifically listed as vegetarian. Lemon Thai unfortunately is no exception, in spite of the fact that they list themselves as being specifically vegetarian friendly. I've been here three times (and don't intend to go back), and this has been the case at all three times and for three different dishes. Not that the vegetarian dishes tasted particularly good to start with, so the fish oil definitely didn't help. From the perspective of non-vegetarians, the meat eaters that I dine with generally enjoy Lemon Thai, so this review may not mean much to you. read more

This place used to be a favorite. Picked up take-out tonight, got it home, was shocked. Every dish was inedible. Kids refused to eat any of the stuff they usually enjoy. Chicken satay was so burnt we had to cut off the char with scissors, but still nobody could eat it. Scallops and other meats were not fresh, vegetables were old. The owner knows us and always gives us free apps or drinks (even though we don't really like Thai Iced Tea - it's started to grow on me!), and the waitstaff is always extremely friendly. Lemon Thai is your pretty standard thai restaurant and delivery place. The delivery is prompt and the service at the restaurant is attentive. The decor is cheery & pleasant enough, but not a reason to dine-in, IMHO. Lemon Thai has some really tasty dishes. I recommend the Star Noodles (similar to Pad See Euw--but better than the dish they call by that name), Massamun Curry, and the delicious Steamed Dumplings and dipping sauce as an appetizer. Mmmmm. The Pad Thai and Fried Rice are also nice, but at this point I order my faves. I'd skip the fresh rolls and the wonton soup and coconut soup. Also, skip the sticky rice. It's a very small portion and comes wrapped in saran wrap--ewww. While Lemon Thai is better than Coconut Thai in Wellesley, I think Jamjuli in Newton and Rice Barn in Needham are better. Did takeout here with the sister. This is one of our favorite Thai places to eat at since there aren't many Asian options in Wellesley. Their food is fresh and delicious. They also have great service and the staff here are very friendly. I like their yellow paint and bright decorations. I really liked their Tom yum noodle soup last time. This time the green curry (which is my favorite) lacked some flavor so I was kind of disappointed. Otherwise, if you need your Thai fix, you can't go wrong with Lemon Thai. Parking here can be tricky since it's street so I usually park elsewhere and walk over. This was the first time we did take out. Lemon Thai is my favorite restaurant in Wellesley (and believe me... I've tried them all!!). They have a wide menu in which you can substitute any kind of meat or vegetarian option into any dish! A personal favorite of mine is the Mango Curry with tofu. Also, it's a great place to go get a thai iced tea if you're walking by. They're very inexpensive and the to-go cups are very generous! My only complaint about Lemon Thai is that, while they do deliver, it is often slow and you're better off picking it up yourself or eating in there very nice dining room. Ammendment 5/21/2008: I actually like Coconut Thai down route 16 better, but it's a super pain in the butt to get to from Wellesley College... the traffic's insane, not much parking, and no bus (duh. :o) read more

Our regular Thai place in town is closed so I gave Lemon Thai a try. Disappointed in extremely bland pad see ew and a crispy chicken pad Thai that tasted like burned cooking oil. The red curry is also relatively bland but not bad. Large portion sizes but I'm not willing to eat mediocre takeout leftover, so that's wasted on me. read more

This is certainly decent Thai food by suburban standards. The flavors are right, and the food is presented well, but there's not much here that you wouldn't find at any other Thai restaurant. If you're near the Ville at Wellesley Square on a hot day, you really should get a Thai Iced Tea to go for $1.60. It's incredibly refreshing. read more

First time ordering delivery my food arrived 1.5 hours late. I called the restaurant & the woman who answered told me the driver called to tell me food has arrived (which didn't happen) & then told me he probably left the food outside my door (also didn't happen). Then she called driver and said he was 2 mins away (he finally arrived 15mins later). I got the yellow curry which was overloaded with onions, the chicken and carrots had been boiled so excessively they were like leather. The students at Wellesley College recommended this place for delivery. We were staying for an event on the campus and ordered dinner for a crowd of people. Big plus was that they were super fast and knew the location of all the dorms and there was no delivery charge. I've had better Thai food but I have to say their peanut sauce was very good. In Wellesley you would expect most restaurants to be expensive but this is almost a hidden jewel. It is on Rte 135 coming east it is on the left hand side after the major portion of the center. I just got the most expensive thai food of my life when I simply ordered 1 order of pork yellow curry. I have eaten at about every thia restuarant in this state never have i been such over charged than at this place. Instead of substituting different veggies in the meal I was charged dollar everyone even though I didnt want what was in it also they dont offer rice with it charge 2 dollars for rice i paid 20 dollars for 1 meal I'm in aww I order same every where usually comes to 14 maybe 15..this is beyond wrong I STILL DONT GET WHERE THE MATH CAME TO THAT. Don't go here if you want Thai food or even a resemblance of it. I had Lemon Thai takeout quite some time ago and was disappointed so I gave it another try to confirm... The tofu pad thai I got this time was a 0/10. The only flavor I tasted was sour bland. The tofu was super dried up and they didn't even give any peanuts or lime. If you ask me, that was not pad thai.
