I was so excited to FINALLY get my hair cut. I found the atmosphere to be very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Nobody knew the Wifi password. I kept asking people, someone said, "I'm not technically here today." Then walked away from me and left. Wtf? Nobody greeted me, or ever spoke with me. Nobody ever smiled at me or seemed to have a positive attitude, they all just avoided eye contact. Not cool. My haircut is NOT great and I didn't want or expect all of the addons that jacked up the price to twice of what I expected to pay. I'm not some rich housewife who doesn't care about money. I definitely care about my money and how it's spent, or wasted. It felt very rushed, and I did not enjoy myself. It wasn't fun and I didn't feel good after I left. I was not thanked for coming in. I didn't feel pampered, well taken care of or appreciated. I wouldn't return or recommend this place. Communications were good with the salon, before I got here, but everything else majorly sucked. I always get compliments on my hair, especially right after I get it done and styled. My manager said, "Oh... you got your hair cut." Then looked down. So, definitely not a compliment. I have wavy hair and the cut was majorly botched. It wasn't even a difficult cut! She spent like five minutes cutting it, the next 10 minutes drying it and covering the bad cut that went against my natural curl. Kristin cut my hair. A few days before my wedding anniversary, my husband said I could get my hair permed since I've wanted to do that for years. I was thrilled, I asked him what my price limit was and he said there isn't one, so I went nuts looking every where for places that do soft curl perms. I found this place on Yelp and made an appointment the day before to go. I got there on Saturday morning and it turns out that they booked me with Mary Anne but didn't tell her about it, so she called and asked if we could set it to an hour later. I didn't have a problem with that so I waited. They offered us coffee, water and cookies, so we were occupied reading some magazines while waiting. Mary Anne got straight to work on me, at first, I only wanted the ends to be curled but she explained to me that it might look weird since it's poofy on the bottom and flat at the top, so I agreed and went with the whole head. The whole process took 4 hours, but Mary Anne insisted that she was having a lot of fun working on a project like this and I even helped her work her arms, since they were getting a good workout lol. While watching her do my hair, she offered me some cookies and water. We got to talking and it felt more like hanging out than anything else. Finally, when my hair was done, she showed me how to maintain it and what comb to use for my hair so I don't lose it's elasticity. She was very helpful. The cost of it came to $180, then again my hair is VERY thick and long so I expected it. My husband was very happy with the result, in fact, every time he looks at me, he keeps touching my hair and telling me how curly hair fits me very well. He wants me to go back and get it again once my hair starts to straighten again. It lost a star due to the scheduling situation and it was pricey, but I think it's very worth it. (Remember her name) I sadly moved and was looking for a new hairstylist, yelp allows you to message all salons within a certain radius of your location, I was given 4 salons. Coconuts being one of them. Scary to think I've resorted to finding a stylist on yelp but here I was. I gave a run down on what I was looking for to each salon and was told someone would be in contact. Vikki from Coconuts contacted me and was so accommodating right away! I was back and forth in what I wanted, what days and times I could do etc. Vikki stuck it out with me and recommended changes and suggestions to things I was showing her. I want extensions and was very wary about it also. Finally settled on hair, time and day. When I say she stuck it through it's because I was constantly texting her changes or asking a million questions about hair and extensions but she took the time to answer them all. I am so appreciative. Jump to my appointment not only am I met by a smiling, happy blonde stylist, her station was CLEAN! She was also very accommodating in person and reassured me and continued to answer all the questions she already had! Haha. I'm a pain client. Anyways my hair was a horrible wreck it had been over a year since I had it done and I was going in with minimal hope it would turn out like the picture. Vikki made it WAY BETTER than I hoped. She did a gorgeous job and exactly what I wanted! I almost cried. It is perfect. I know this review is long but if you're looking for a stylist who gives extra attention to your needs, wants and concerns Vikki is it! She wouldn't do anything until well explained and making sure o was comfortable. Such a gem to find! So excited I ran into this salon/spa. Anything you need done, at your finger tips. They do waxing, nails, massages, hair, spray tans and even botox. The minute I walked in, it felt like you were literally in Hawaii. Palm trees, rattan furniture and a beautiful decor. The salon/spa even had a tropical scent, very pleasant:) Customer service was awesome, from the front desk staff offering me a glass of wine while I wait. Worst gel manicure I've ever had! And the establishment seemed to completely ignore my issue with what had happened. Only offered to have the same person do another manicure. Who would want another manicure from the same person after this? This, in spite of my calling the same day of the manicure when I had the polish bubble up and chip of within a couple hours. At their request I went in the next the day to show them what a mess my nails were. Problems included previous polish was not soaked off, and damaged my nails. Polish had chipped off my nail, had cracking all through it, and my cuticles had polish on top of them. The pictures included are taken just 5 days after the manicure. I went to autumn here at coconuts. Not only did she take my last minute plea for a style she was so nice and pleasant to talk to. I showed up in need of a style with my clip in hair. I asked for volume thinking it would fall out an hr later like it normally does. Not only did I get volume I got awesome Sexy hair that got compliments all night long! She was cheaper than what my own friends would charge me and it lasted thru the night and into the next day! I will continue to go to autumm to get my hair done she is amazing! Waited in the front for 20 minutes to make an appointment for my daughters and I. Nobody came out to greet us. There were at least 3 stylist working. I'm pretty sure thy were ignoring me since I had the kids with me. There were signs posted saying no children allowed unless they were receiving services. Except I was trying to buy services for them and myself. Too bad because I always tip well. We just moved to the area so I like to check places out in person. Guess I'll have to find another local salon. We always get our hair cut together, so it's usually a pretty penny, plus a generous tip. I guess it's a blessing. The place is beautiful, and the staff is friendly. However, I have never payed more money for highlights and a below average haircut. The highlights turned out great, but my stylist seemed to lack technique so it took much longer than normal. Maybe she just doesn't usually do highlights. The haircut could have definitely turned out better. I ended up with an awkward short piece in the front. I won't be coming back here because I know I can get a better value for the same or better results elsewhere. read more

Just one name...Annie! Best hair stylist ever! Since going to her to get my hair cuts, I've received compliments everywhere I go. I received the most notable comment about a month ago. I was up in LA to see them taping a segment for America's Got Talent. I was shocked when Simon Cowell happened to stop, took my hand and said, "I love your hair. It's beautiful!!" This was just one compliment out of many that I've receive since going to her. She changed someone who had hair that looked very much like the hair of Captain Kangaroo into someone who has hair attracting celebrity compliments. What more can I say? She's fabulous! read more

Today was my first visit to Coconuts and I must say I am very disappointed in the pedicure I received. There are a couple of reasons I'm not happy: 1. I anticipated the cost of the pedicure to be $30. as stated in the website (I didn't have anything fancy done) and it ended up being $45. I think it would have been polite and responsible for the provider to confirm the cost with me before going forward. 2. I discovered when I got home that a fair amount of polish was on the skin surrounding my nails-something I might have done myself but didn't expect from a professional. 3. Finally, three of my toenails smeared almost immediately-I had seen another manicurist spraying something on another client that aided with drying-I didn't get that spray and figure that's why mine smeared. I liked the manicurist-very personable and friendly. I won't be going back, however, because my pedicure looks awful and I will have to have it re-done. An expensive lesson I guess. read more

She uses her magic, using amazing products and services-micro dermabrasion, peels, masks, etc. Instead of leaving the room while the masks set, she does a wonderful massage on my shoulders & arms. You may be asking yourself what these lovely ladies do, so here it is: Sarah-Sarah gives amazing massages. Period. Ok, let me elaborate a bit. I'm pretty picky when it comes to massages as I've been fortunate enough to have some great ones. Sarah is definitely top notch and you can tell she knows what she's doing and isn't' just randomly rubbing your back. As a fan of deeper pressure, most folks leave me feeling a little disappointed, but not Sarah. She'll have you walking out of there with some tired but happy muscles. Penny- Penny is an extremely detailed and passionate esthetician. I was very impressed by how thorough she was and liked that she explained to me what she was doing and what I could expect. She is incredibly friendly and great at what she does. My skin is very happy to have met her and better off after my facial. Jenna-Jenna is a fabulous hairstylist. This girl is very talented at what she does and can hook you up with color, cuts, or even up-dos. You can tell that she loves what she does and wants to make her clients happy. So she clarified my hair and got rid of old color, trimmed my hair because apparently from what I saw, my hair was cut 3 weeks ago and it was very uneven cut, like it was done by a novice. Disclaimer: I've only experienced the medical spa portion of this place, so I can't give an entirely well-rounded review. I will say, however, that it's not really what you would expect for a spa when you walk in. Maybe I've been spoiled from spas that I've been to in the past, but I really thought that spas are supposed to be serene and quiet, offering some sort of sanctuary-feeling. Yeah, that's not what I got from this place. When you walk in, people are running around all over the place, and it gives the feeling of a very cramped salon. While I appreciate that Coconuts wanted to fit a lot of disciplines under one roof, the space doesn't really accommodate everything very well. So I walked back to the "medical spa" section of the spa, which is a small hall of even smaller rooms. Now the esthetician I had was really great and knowledgeable, which was a plus. She knew what she was doing and what would be best for my skin. I had a microderm, and it only took about thirty minutes, a big plus. I really wish that it had just been a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. So basically, the pros are: * great estheticians who actually do what's best for your skin * relatively good prices * relevant products at a good price The cons: * way too cramped * the chairs lined up right next to the window give you the feel that you're at a doctor's office, rather than a spa * oh! the lighting...it sucks...way too bright for a friggin spa * the size of the rooms for spa treatments - the size of a large closet I'm debating whether or not to come back simply because the girl that did my microdermabrasion was great. But I think that I need to keep searching for a good place that offers the environment I feel should be included in that $80 treatment. read more

Vikki is the best, I know I don't have to worry when I sit in her chair that I won't like my hair at the end of it. She's got me hooked on Brazilian blowouts, eyelash extensions and balayage! The Brazilians leave my hair feeling amazing, and it's so much less blow dry/straighten work in the morning! Eyelash extensions because mascara is quite literally my worst enemy and I love the look of longer fuller lashes 24/7 without having any makeup on at all. Last week, I visited Coconuts Salon and Day Spa to get my hair done. Location: It's conveniently located right off Severin Drive. It's below the Brigantine restaurant. Décor: I felt like I was on the set of a tasteful Hawaii Five O. It is so bright and cheerful in there you can't help but smile. You really can't stop looking around at all the detail the designer put into the place. Atmosphere: For a Friday morning it was quite packed, but had that "hang loose" vibe. It was very relaxed and not loud. I experienced a happy and positive energy there. They offered several types of waters, teas, coffee, and wine, as well as cookies and chocolate for the clients. Service: My stylist was Debi and she did an excellent job. I was on my way to a wedding that day and I received a lot of compliments on my hair. She mentioned that the salon was a very fun place to work and that everyone that works there is very successful and happy. Cost: $25-$30 for a wash/blowdry. The salon is closed on Sundays, but they also have a full service spa and nail department, as well as an on staff Doctor to service all of your medical spa needs. read more

Kialey Beauchamp's skin treatment services are through, relaxing and educational. I was extremely impressed on how she was not rushed and treated my skin as carefully as she would treat her own. I especially love the pressure amount when she would perform the message, this would send me off to a relaxing nap if chosen to do so. In addition, Kailey was very helpful to educate me on any questions I had regarding the products and different skin types. The Salon itself was very cute, clean and welcoming. Just wanted to reiterate how AWESOME Mary Ann is! I still wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. I've had her redo my wavy-curly perm several times since my first one, and I love it every time. I've been going to MaryAnne Novack for about a year and she is amazing! I've had hair trauma in the past and she was extremely understanding and patient with me. She listened to exactly what I wanted and made sure I was comfortable before she proceeded. The salon offers relaxing head massages during your shampoo and condition and wine to take your relaxation further. MaryAnne's prices are very reasonable for cut and color and she is friendly and easy to talk to. She is very thorough and really makes sure you're happy with your cut or color before and after your appointment. After my first color she even called me the next day to make sure I still loved it!
