I lost two faithful partners , our beloved golden retriever Roxy and her companion beagle mix dozer within two weeks of each other. while both of them lived glorious lives. They were considered family. Roxy went first and I brought her over and I just knew that leaving her there she would be well taken care of and then shortly after I had to make another phone call to them and tell them my beloved dozer, would need their services. These wonderful women know exactly how raw emotions can take over a person's thought processes, but they engage you in such a way that when you leave them, you know that your precious companions will be handled with love and respect.

Nan and her staff are truly angels. We are new to the area and recently had a horrible experience with a nearby crematory with our deceased pigeon. Nubis, our cat had to be euthanized and we were looking for a crematory that would allow us to view them put him in and take his remains out. We thought this would be a couple hour process. The other places we called said they could not accommodate this request. When we called Faithful Friends, Carmela gave us a same day appointment. When we arrived, my girlfriend was very upset and emotional. Nan came out of her office, introduced herself and immediately began to console her. We realized immediately how genuine of a person Nan is. She spent almost an hour with us answering questions, explaining things and telling us stories that made us feel better. My girlfriend told Nan how Nubis loved to look out the window and watch the hummingbirds. When we came back the next day to pick up Nubis, we were handed what looked like a gift basket. It was Nubis' urn with his picture we provided, his paw print and a beautifully hand written condolence note. The cellophane it was wrapped up in was tied with ribbons. On the ribbon was a small hummingbird charm. We were overwhelmed. What they charged was so little compared to what we are used to paying in the past. We gave her extra to tip her employees. She said that it is not necessary but she would put it in a "pay it forward" fund to help people that can't afford to pay for her services We cannot say enough about Faithful Friends, Nan and her staff. They have us as customers forever. We will never go anywhere else

Three days later, the staff didn't just hand me a paper bag and a bill for their services. They arranged everything - his ashes, a cremation certificate, a card with my cat's inked pawprint - together in a display inside their Rainbow Bridge room and allowed us to spend time there. One surprise for me was the container for the ashes. Their website promised only a cardboard carton, so I was apprehensive about what it would look like. But, instead of cardboard, his ashes were in a pretty redwood-colored wooden box that I will be happy to display in my home. The second pleasant surprise was the clay pawprint (not listed in their "menu" of services; I made a special request). I'd only expected something small and simple, and would have been content with that. What they delivered was so much nicer: it included the clay pawprint and a calligraphy card "In Loving Memory of..." mounted, framed and under glass. The friend who accompanied me had had to order cremation services at another pet funeral home for her cat last year, and found Peaceful Pets to be head and shoulders above that competitor. They didn't offer her anything like my experience of the Rainbow Bridge room. The time spent in that room did so much to ease my grief. I thoroughly recommend Peaceful Pets to anyone considering cremation. These are people who care.

When I went to pick up her ashes the staff said "I better not see you in here with another one for a really long time" and it felt very accusatory. this time, when my 4th one died, I had spent nearly 1500 dollars on his medical care and taking him in I just wanted some care and empathy. I have schizophrenia and these are my emotional support animals. He was a rescue and I got him when he was 3, shortly after my third one passed away. He had pneumonia and a mass in his lungs and had lost a lot of weight, and died when he was 4. they were very unprofessional and accusatory again. when I went to pick up his ashes they were saying how big he was, but he was under 300g which was small. I feel like they don't understand husbandry or care for these particular animals. I hope they get permanent explosive diarrhea for being so callous I won't be dealing with them directly again. If there is a next time, I will go through my vet.

When I first met with her to discuss the upcoming CT procedure on my cat, she was bizarrely upbeat, peppy, and cheerful when telling me that it was likely my cat had terminal cancer. I was completely taken aback and startled by the disconnect between what she was saying and how she was delivering that message. There was no compassion, empathy, or understanding that the message she was delivering was devastating - her demeanor was more in line with a positive, optimistic prognosis. In addition, she kept rearranging her hair and grooming her nails while talking to me about the looming death of my beloved pet and I just couldn't wait for her to leave the room. Later, when she called me to let me know the CT procedure was complete and my cat had woken up from sedation, she had the same peppy, cheerful attitude when telling me that the preliminary results were consistent with nasal lymphoma. She never once expressed condolences or acknowledged how upsetting this news would be. She never said anything like "I'm so sorry to deliver this news, this must be upsetting for you." She was annoyingly and inappropriately cheerful and peppy and bubbly. It was completely shocking and I could not believe what a terrible bedside manner she had. A few days later, she called me with the results of the CT and said that the images are consistent with nasal lymphoma, a terminal diagnosis as chemo/radiation are not financially feasible nor do I believe they will offer my cat any meaningful quality of life. Once again, her attitude, demeanor, and delivery were terrible and completely at odds with the somber and serious news she was delivering. Even when I choked up and started crying a little bit, she never expressed any compassion or empathy - she just continued on with her chipper and upbeat attitude. At one point, I mentioned how difficult it was to administer the pills that had been prescribed for my cat because he kept spitting them out and was starting to avoid me when I came towards him with the meds. In a bright and cheerful voice, she said "Yep I wouldn't be surprised if this interfered with your relationship with him and possibly shortened his lifespan!" I could not believe she said that - it made a difficult situation so march harder to handle. I have never experienced a healthcare professional with such a terrible ignorance and unawareness of their inappropriate demeanor. She needs very specific and targeted education and training on how to deliver bad news about her patients to their owners. Losing a pet is devastating and if she can't handle owners' emotions appropriately and carefully, she needs to find another job. I want to point out that I am a healthcare provider myself and I have had to deliver upsetting and sad news to patients many times over the course of my 20+ year career. I am ALWAYS aware of the impact of my demeanor and attitude on how my patients process what I'm saying. It's so important! Especially when bad news is being delivered, compassion for people's emotions should be TOP OF MIND!!! Finally, when I dropped my pet off in the morning, I was 100% clear that I wanted to be told about any and all "extras" that appeared on the invoice before anything additional was done. Dr. Purdy assured me that nothing additional or extra would be done without my permission. Later in the day, she called me during the CT scan procedure to say that a pharyngeal mass had also been identified (in addition to the nasal one) and asked if I gave my permission for this to be biopsied as well. She told me this would be an additional $400. I gave my consent and they moved forward. Later, when it came time to pay my bill there was a fee of $200 for the histopathology associated with this biopsy, which Dr. Purdy never told me about. She only said it would be $400 more. When I expressed my disappointment, nobody was willing to acknowledge that a mistake had been made. I spoke to the clinic manager and she just kept pointing to the "extras" listed on the original invoice as proof that it was ok to charge me this additional money, even when I told her that I had asked to be informed of all "extra" fees before anything was done. She then told me that they could just not send the tissue samples for histopathology, even though I would still have to pay $400 for the procedure. So in essence, I would have to pay $400 for nothing. After the upsetting interactions with Dr. Purdy described above, this added insult to injury and I just wanted to get out of there and go home and cry. I will not be coming back to this hospital if at all possible and I do not recommend it to anyone else.

I had reviewed options on their website so I asked for what I thought was best and they trusted that I knew me best. They have a little area to sit with your pet. They attach a little metal ID tag that stays with your pet, I asked if I could be present when they attached it and they were very accommodating. Overall very respectful staff, I do wish the environment was a little cleaner and maybe brighter? I know we're grieving but it felt dark and dingy and kind of dirty. They have a little soft bed area where you could lay your pet and say final goodbyes but there was fur on the blanket and just gave vibes that many animals had been laid there. I would have really appreciated it if it felt cleaner. Like can we change out the towel with each person? I can't imagine that's asking too much? They did have the best prices that I found when looking online if you want to receive the ashes back. Lollipop had the best price if you were leaning towards a group cremation and not receiving ashes back. Their price includes an ink paw print and they put the ashes in a little wooden box. I would definitely consider them again if I was in need of this service in the future.
