Three days later, the staff didn't just hand me a paper bag and a bill for their services. They arranged everything - his ashes, a cremation certificate, a card with my cat's inked pawprint - together in a display inside their Rainbow Bridge room and allowed us to spend time there. One surprise for me was the container for the ashes. Their website promised only a cardboard carton, so I was apprehensive about what it would look like. But, instead of cardboard, his ashes were in a pretty redwood-colored wooden box that I will be happy to display in my home. The second pleasant surprise was the clay pawprint (not listed in their "menu" of services; I made a special request). I'd only expected something small and simple, and would have been content with that. What they delivered was so much nicer: it included the clay pawprint and a calligraphy card "In Loving Memory of..." mounted, framed and under glass. The friend who accompanied me had had to order cremation services at another pet funeral home for her cat last year, and found Peaceful Pets to be head and shoulders above that competitor. They didn't offer her anything like my experience of the Rainbow Bridge room. The time spent in that room did so much to ease my grief. I thoroughly recommend Peaceful Pets to anyone considering cremation. These are people who care.

Our dog was blindsided by another dog and sustained what we now know was a neck injury that led to surgery later in the week at Cornell. Dr. James Gilchrist was there waiting for us at 11 p.m. on a Saturday night as we carried our girl in, unsure why her eyes were beat red, her breathing was heavy and she was unable to stand. He did a great job of stabilizing her and kept her overnight. When she was unable to stand the next day he recommended she needed an MRI. As we waited the painfully long 48 hours to get an MRI for Apple, Dr. Gilchrist and his team took care of our dog and even came to open up at 3:30 in the morning due to the early morning MRI in Rochester. Our dog is now on the mend and going through a few more weeks of crate rest and at-home physical therapy as she recovers from a disc injury. While the care she received down at Cornell for the surgery was top-notch, our longest-lasting memory about how our dog was given the chance to walk again will always be the emergency care that Dr. Gilchrist provided, all at fair prices.

I called WVC to ask if we could have his glaucoma medication filled by their pharmacy because we are in an emergency situation. Their client service representative refused, telling me both that they have no capacity for new clients, and that they refuse to fill a prescription from another doctor. She was inflexible, insensitive, rude and dismissive, and she hung up on me when I was trying to make a final suggestion. And to top it off, all this happened after waiting on hold on the phone for over ten minutes, she dismissed my comment that I had already waited ten minutes, and put me on hold again. My family have been clients of this practice since the 1980s. I am so disappointed and angry. They don't deserve to care for our animals if this is the way they treat their family members.

We are new to the area and recently had a horrible experience with a nearby crematory with our deceased pigeon. Nubis, our cat had to be euthanized and we were looking for a crematory that would allow us to view them put him in and take his remains out. We thought this would be a couple hour process. The other places we called said they could not accommodate this request. When we called Faithful Friends, Carmela gave us a same day appointment. When we arrived, my girlfriend was very upset and emotional. Nan came out of her office, introduced herself and immediately began to console her. We realized immediately how genuine of a person Nan is. She spent almost an hour with us answering questions, explaining things and telling us stories that made us feel better. My girlfriend told Nan how Nubis loved to look out the window and watch the hummingbirds. When we came back the next day to pick up Nubis, we were handed what looked like a gift basket. It was Nubis' urn with his picture we provided, his paw print and a beautifully hand written condolence note. The cellophane it was wrapped up in was tied with ribbons. On the ribbon was a small hummingbird charm. We were overwhelmed. What they charged was so little compared to what we are used to paying in the past. We gave her extra to tip her employees. She said that it is not necessary but she would put it in a "pay it forward" fund to help people that can't afford to pay for her services We cannot say enough about Faithful Friends, Nan and her staff. Overall very respectful staff, I do wish the environment was a little cleaner and maybe brighter? I know we're grieving but it felt dark and dingy and kind of dirty. They have a little soft bed area where you could lay your pet and say final goodbyes but there was fur on the blanket and just gave vibes that many animals had been laid there. I would have really appreciated it if it felt cleaner. Like can we change out the towel with each person? I can't imagine that's asking too much? They did have the best prices that I found when looking online if you want to receive the ashes back. Lollipop had the best price if you were leaning towards a group cremation and not receiving ashes back. Their price includes an ink paw print and they put the ashes in a little wooden box. After that positive experience, I trusted their care during such a difficult time, not realizing what high employee turnover they have had since then, leading to a completely different experience. On April 21, 2026, after Bailey, our beloved cat of 18.5 years, passed away, we reached out around 9 PM, as their website states that 24 hour services are available for situations like this. Unfortunately, we were told that the website is incorrect and they could not assist until after 9 AM the following day. We were advised to keep our pet outside or somewhere cool overnight. This was incredibly distressing during an already heartbreaking moment. When the employee arrived the following morning to pick Bailey up, he was quite insensitive and started the conversation by immediately asking if I had already paid. While filling out the contract and explaining the options I would like, he interrupted me multiple times to discuss prices, even after I had advised him that the price was not my concern - making sure my little girl was taken care of was my only concern. While arrangements were made, both on the phone and in person, I clearly communicated multiple times that having Bailey's paw print was extremely important to me and my son as a keepsake. I also showed the man the clay paw imprint that their company had done for her brother three years earlier and stated I wanted the same one for her. I paid in advance for this service and it was clearly marked on the contract I signed. When I was called to pick up Bailey (four days after the man told me she would be ready to come home), I was told that the clay paw print had not been done prior to cremation and it was unclear that I wanted it, despite it being marked on the contract and them already charging me for it. This was devastating. While they did offer to refund the $45, the opportunity to have that final keepsake is something that can never be replaced. There were several other mistakes made during the process as well but this is, by far, the most upsetting as it is irreversible. What made the situation even more upsetting was how it was handled. There was no empathy and it was treated as an inconvenience to them. Both Faith and the man in the office with her during pickup stated multiple times that it is not their fault. I specifically asked what quality control plan is in place to prevent these errors from occurring and was advised there is none and that "mistakes happen and are just part of doing business." This particular "mistake" was compared to a fast food order being prepared incorrectly, which felt dismissive and deeply lacking in empathy given the emotional nature of the service being provided. This was not just a simple oversight. It was the loss of something deeply meaningful during a time of grief over the loss of a very important member of our family. For a service costing several hundred dollars, I expected a much higher level of care, attention to detail, and compassion. I specifically asked to speak with the owner and was told he wasn't there. I asked Faith to call him to which she replied, "I will not be doing that." To make matters worse, I am not at all confident that the ashes I received are even Bailey's as they are less than 1/4 of the weight of her twin brother's ashes, despite them being almost identical in size at the times of their passing. With such carelessness and an admitted lack of any kind of checks and balances in their operations, I do not have any faith that they actually provided the private service I paid for or returned the proper ashes, which is even more distressing. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Forever Meadows and I very strongly discourage anyone from using their services for a loved one if sentimentality and compassion are at all important to them. My wish is that no other family ever has to experience such carelessness during an already devastating time.
