4-24-2026 0740 to 0800…read more We needed a tow for one of our cars that developed a coarse and pronounced misfire. On Tuesday 4-21-26 as soon as this started happening we started making calls to towing services to get an appointment for transporting the car to the shop today. Many of our calls to other services said they would call me right back, but never did. I called Reliable Wednesday morning (4-22-26), Not only did they take my call and immediately make our Friday morning appointment, but the person on the phone was very polite and professional. Excellent communication. Friday morning (4-24-26) Reliable showed up on time in a well maintained truck driven by a very polite and professional driver. Our disabled vehicle was transported to the shop in time for our repair appointment. We followed the tow truck to the repair shop hoping we'd be able to drive the first car home after same day repairs. Absolutely a professional GEM of a service. Professional, safe, polite and of course ...RELIABLE! I highly recommend this towing service. These guys are 'SPOT ON' and know what they are doing. Absolutely fantastic. Oh, the vehicle towed to the shop only needed a tune up and a coil. Nothing serious at all. This was a Win-Win day for us. Our truck died on us coming back from camping in the Dells (so we had our camper), but thankfully…read morewe were pulled into a gas station parking lot. My husband called for a tow and he was told they wouldn't even start heading our way until we gave them our credit card over the phone (even though insurance was covering it). My husband has Parkinson's, and he gets confused easily and can't always get the words out correctly so he asked me to call him back. So I did, (I wish I'd gotten his name!!) but I was driving out to where he was with the truck and camper in Hustisford from Mequon where I work, but I couldn't call while driving, so I called once I got there. After I explained who I was, I was answered with a very curt "yeah, and?!". I asked about the rates and he rattled them off, very quickly and was almost defensive when saying "that's the going rate". I was just asking. Like I said, insurance was covering it. He was incredibly short and rude, and after I gave him our cc info, he says "you took so long to call back, another call had come in. I'll get there when I get there". After waiting about an hour and a half, my husband called to see if he was still coming and the tow guy said he'd driven past us, saw we had a camper, said he wasn't told we had a camper so he just kept driving and went to a different call. We later saw He had called my husband's phone, but it was in the car because he was dealing with unhitching the camper, and he never called my phone (I was the one he'd delt with more recently AND had paid him) so had we not called him, who knows how long we'd have sat there. We had made other arrangements for the camper, but couldn't move it until our truck was out of the way, so we didn't thing to tell him about it being as he didn't have anything to do with it) If he was driving past, he couldn't just stop and ASK about the camper?! No, he just drove past. He was very curt with us the entire time. When he first picked the truck up, I tried to tell him the layout of our driveway, and which side I wanted it on, and to not put it on the grass, but he just said "I'll see it when I get there". When he dropped it off, he asked where I wanted it so I showed him, again stating "just not on the grass". Guess where my truck is?! On the grass. I've been in customer service my whole life, and I am an "acts of kindness" kind of person. I am the one that will give a cold water to a guy mowing the lawn in a median I drive by or leave treats (usually homemade) out for UPS/FedEx. It was my intent to give this guy fresh pumpkin bars, but after the way we were treated, I just couldn't do it. I don't know the "going rate" for a tow these days, but almost $260 seems a bit high to tow a truck less than 12 miles. A VERY disappointing experience.

They came with NO CABLES... tried what they called a tow jump. Hooked to my truck $$$ went a 100ft still no luck. Finally they had to tow my truck to their shop... put my truck in a warm bay to let it thaw out, charged my batteries still didn't crank so they said they would put me in a room and called Comfort Inn in Jackson come to find out I was paying the bill $135 a night. Told me it might be my starter (unreal) or my fuel pump (unreal). Woke up Saturday and checked out this expensive hotel... returned to their shop and my truck is sitting outside in the cold, left there all night and no one is even there to get me going. So I had to call for me another room found a Super8 for $66 a night... (imagine that) called them and they tell me it will PROBABLY be Monday afternoon... smfh!!! If you're a trucker in need of service you might want to call around. NO ONE IS FRIENDLY... hardly will even speak. Hate to pull the race card but that's the feeling I'm getting... I'm bracing for a nice #uck with no grease. Ralph's Towing in Wisconsin has seen the last of me once I'm rolling. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I want to start by reminding everyone that Wisconsin has a Move Over law. If you're on a multi…read morelane highway and you see a disabled vehicle, police, EMS, fire, road repair, tow truck, postal vehicle or whatever on the side of the road you should move over a lane for safety. If you're already in the next lane, make room for drivers to move away from the side of the road. I feel very strongly about this because tow truck drivers have families to go home to. Anyway, it was a dark and stormy night. Maybe I should have started with that. My car electrical system warning light came on giving me about 20 seconds to pull to the side of the Interstate in the Pewaukee area before my car completely died. I would later find out it was the alternator. AAA couldn't find any available tow trucks, and running through the area tow trucks on YELP made me realize that a lot of towing companies list some bogus address so that a search by distance yields some really inappropriate phone numbers. One company in Whitewater WI actually had me on the phone for 10 minutes before admitting it would take a couple days for them to come and get me. I was way down the list (yes, sorted by distance) when Apple Towing answered on the second ring, helped me figure out where I was, and dispatched a brave tow truck driver in under half an hour. In order to hook my car up, at one point his head was maybe a foot and a half away from idiots zipping by at breakneck speeds reckless texting-driving in the pouring rain. He towed me all the way to my neighborhood mechanic, Rowell's, in Milwaukee for a pretty reasonable price. I tipped him the tiny amount of cash I had on me, and he graciously thanked me like I was generous. When you're completely at the mercy of someone who could totally rip you off, that's when common decency is most appreciated.
