This place is a vibe! Surrounded by plants around the building you feel like you're transported out of Austin straight into a little nature reserve in the middle of the city. My husband, dog, and I decided to stop by for a quick cup of coffee and a croissant after walking around the area. The barista was super sweet letting us in with our little dog. Seems to be a dog friendly place with people vibing out. I liked that there was a separate section for those with laptops that wanted to work. And there were tables dedicated to no laptops for those who rather converse or enjoy a screens off experience. Coffee could be better and was really expensive for what it was. Croissant was huge and nice. I'd definitely want to check this place out for their cocktails in the future.

Beautiful bar, great drinks, and terrific service. The host, Connor, and server, Diego, were extremely friendly and the drinks were so tasty! We sat on the patio since the weather was nice, but the sun was pointed directly at a friend. We asked them to put their large umbrella up and they did so quickly and kindly. They even turned on a fan nearby! The inside is gorgeous with plenty of space and they played great music. Restrooms were spacious, clean, and very cute! Definitely recommend stopping by this bar especially with the surrounding buildings. Try it out!

Codependent is one of my absolute favorite cocktail bars in austin. I have never been for coffee, but come here for drinks all the time with my friends since its a short walk to the bars we like on 6th street. I have tried many drinks here before, such as the tex mex lager and a couple different cocktails, and all of them are great. The vibe here is just my fav, its low-lighting, its chill, the waitresses are alwasy super nice and friendly. they have inside seeting and outside, i feel like i always sit outside since the weather is usually nice and its so cute. I would recommend this bar to absolutely anyone who wants a cute cocktail bar vibe in downtown austin a short walk from west 6th steet.

Very trendy spot, Not a bad coffee but neither the best coffee, it's an ok place. The staff aren't the friendliest, but it's a cool place to check out. I recommend the strawberry danish pastry, berry good. Seems more like a place for happy hour.

Espresso martini, dirty martini, pineapple mocktail

Very vibey cocktail bar! We got an espresso martini, dirty martini, and pineapple mocktail. Their menu was extensive as was seating. Seating was more intimate with sofa and couch options as opposed to just tables and chairs which provided more of a communal feel. Service was great and so were the drinks! Will certainly be back

This is my favorite bar in Austin! The drinks are delicious and the ambiance is really nice. Everyone who works here is fun as well. Drinks are pricey but tasty.

This bar is such a vibe! The interior is gorgeous and the perfect place for either a date or a group to hang out on the couches before going out. I love the vintage disco ball vibe that is complimented by modern elements. I've heard that some people come work or study during the day because they also have a coffee shop so I'd love to try that out!

Trendy spot in downtown that's great for happy hour. Parking - limited street and paid lot. Don't believe they validate, i parked at the seaholm lot and walked over. Ambiance - an incredibly cute interior and exterior, love the interior design style and the furniture that they have. Service- Our waiter D was sooo great! Super friendly and checked on us plenty. Food & Drink - We came for happy hour and loved their deals! My friends got an espresso martini and a glass of champagne, I got one of their non alcoholic drinks and it was great. We also got their bruschetta and chips/dip and they were both so delicious. Def adding to my go to happy hour spots and would love to come back earlier in the day as well!

Found this place in Yelp when looking for a good coffee shop to work out of for the day. Codependent is great! I got a black sesame latte and the vibes inside were good for being productive! The staff and baristas were great too.

Better with the lights on

This was such a fun and wonderful experience! We were a party of 9 and decided to get some after dinner drinks. We were seated immediately and shortly after, our server D came and took our drink orders. She was super knowledgeable about the different drinks and her recommendations to each one of us was spot on. She recommended better with the lights on which had the fun surprise of edible glitter! The music was upbeat and fun and not too loud so we were able to carry out conversations comfortably. D was magic! She really knew when to replenish our drinks. We were there for about an hour and this was the best hour of our night. If you're looking for a fun place with great service, I highly recommend codependent!

I liked codependent cocktails a lot. My favorite drink of the night was the suit and Thai. It was the perfect pink drink for Valentine's Day. Ir was shippable and sweet. The ambiance was nice and the music at a reasonable level and crowd was very chatty so there was a constant din in the restaurant which made it a little hard to hear each other, but we really enjoyed the cocktails. Service was good.

Servers run on the snooty side, been here a bunch of times if we're near the area & it's bad service most of the time. Ambiance is good, trendy and nice but we're pulling away more and more coz the lady servers are just not happy to serve. Tonight, we came as a group of 10 and tip was automatically added so imagine how terrible the service was as opposed to when there's just 4 in a group?! When the guard checking ID is always, always nicer than the servers.... Tsk tsk, there's clearly a staffing issue here. Steep prices should come with better servers.

Codependent is a great spot for happy hour. Drinks are pricey but very good. Servers were super friendly and attentive. The couch seating was super low to the ground, so would request a table next time.

Nice place in a great location with beautiful views. The wait staff was excellent. The only downside was having to pay for parking.

Really fantastic experience!…read more The cocktail menu is diverse and fun. The quality of drinks was excellent. My favorite part was the DJ was also playing electric guitar to accompany some of the songs in his lineup. It was really cool. I've never seen a DJ do that before. The whole time we were there the service and ambience and tastes were top-notch, but the DJ piece really created a memorable experience that leaves me wanting to come back.

We waited maybe 15 minutes at the walk-in line as others progressively started to pile on behind us. Then again, even people in the reservation line were waiting. This is definitely the kind of place that wants you to wait. The kind of place that wants to build a line outdoors to intrigue onlookers. We were treated nicely, but we definitely could have gotten in right away. By the time we walked in, the place was probably at 60% capacity. It was standing room only at the bar, but not overcrowded by any means. There is a dress code, but it's not entirely clear what it is. Some guy dressed to the 9s got turned away for not having sleeves whereas I got in with sneakers and a t-shirt. They ask for your cellphones upon entering and give you a key in exchange, but there doesn't seem to be any security to enforce it if you don't want to give them up. I have no problem with their policy, but I bet a lot of customers do. Interestingly, their little social experiment seemed to have a positive effect, where we ended up talking to strangers and vice versa. The Powder Room may be making America social again.

Great house music from the DJ, friendly staff, and an easygoing atmosphere that's perfect for hanging out. I was having a sober night and tried a few drinks from their Dry January Specials menu. Wow, they did not disappoint. The Alrighty Aphrodite was delicious, and the So Fresh, So Clean was exactly that, super refreshing with a great pineapple flavor. My husband had the Dusty Trail (strong and perfect for bourbon lovers) and a Coquito that was creamy and smooth with a hint of cinnamon. Parking is limited, but we found street parking nearby. There's enough of a vibe for this place to feel lively even when it's mostly empty, yet it also avoids the earsplitting noise that may come with a more crowded venue. The bartenders are amicable, and the menu showcases some creative - and creatively named - cocktails. Lara went with a Moon Song (rum, blackberry, lime, and honey with lavender cold foam) and an espresso martini and enjoyed both. I opted for a zero proof drink: the high and mighty (agave, nonalcoholic ginger and floral liqueurs, jasmine tea, and spiced salt). It was refreshing but didn't quite hit the mark for me. What should have been complex and balanced came across as overly floral. All told, Marlow is worth a visit even if it is unlikely to wow you.

I went to Whisler's and had one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had…read more I had one drink. I was completely sober for all intents and purposes. The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
