I've been here a couple times and the espresso martinis are ALWAYS good and the service is ALWAYS bad, but you don't come for the service. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a mimosa and light bites with my best friend. I've only ever been here at nighttime so I wasn't sure what the vibes would be during the day. I have never been so pleasantly surprised. The windows had the best natural lighting and the staff were absolutely phenomenal. We sat at the bar and Gabe, Hunter and Roshawn helped us all day. They were so kind and attentive and even offered my friend a mint when she feared her breath smelled. The light bites are quite the spread (see pic) and the incredible service was the cherry on top. Y'all it's a whole vibe in here. Came here in the morning to work with some friends. Lots of comfy seating and outlets for those working. The tea, coffee and food are great! Loved the white tea, fruit cup and Italian almond cookies. My friends had all of the croissant sandwiches which were excellent as well. Codependent is one of my favorite places to have a cocktail in Austin - it has an amazing atmosphere and vibe. There are outdoor seating areas as well as indoors. The types of seating are wide in variety as well ranging from normal tables to couches to swinging seats. They have a morning/daytime menu as well as an evening cocktail/snacks menu. The service isn't great in terms of waiting to order drinks/food but the staff is very nice. Also note that recently on their menu I saw that they they don't allow laptops after 6 pm so if you're planning on working, come during the daytime. Come here for the ambiance and vibe, not the prices! You can have a pleasant day working outside or inside, grabbing a cocktail with a friend, or romantic date night. But the the cocktails are super pricey - two people can easily spend $100+ here by just ordering a few cocktails and snacks. I like to bring friends from out of town here or come by occasionally for a cocktail or two as a treat because it has a beautiful ambiance and the location is amazing - right by the 3rd Street Shoal Creek bridge. Lovely place. I would absolutely love to come down here someday and work and have coffee, or come in later for a cocktail. It's a beautiful space with a very relaxed vibe. There is also plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather is warmer. There is a very nice selection of coffees, including specialty lattes. The cocktail menu also looks extensive. It's such a great place if you're looking for a work/study area. The only thing was that there are no outlets unless you sit along the side of the shop but this was my first coffee bar experience and it was really fun. Service was fine, food was decent. I feel really bad for the workers that have to enforce the stupid laptop policy, though. We went on a Saturday afternoon when there was maybe 5 people in the building (ie. plenty of seating) and sat at one of the tables that DIDN'T have a "laptop free" sign on it, and were then told that laptops aren't allowed after 11AM on weekends. I'm not sure why there was only signage on half of the tables or why management is so insistent on it being a "non-coworking, face to face interaction craft cocktail/coffee" kind of space. But I'm finally leaving this review in hopes of change. Your coffee beans/roast is very hard to enjoy and drink as it is so so so sour. I have made this comment several times and the lovely baristas really tried to make the espresso again but no change. They even said the same thing. But for customers to PAY, and then you ask them to leave / give a refund when they pull out their laptop is a terrible business model. But we were notified immediately that it was a no laptop zone and guided to where we "can" sit--which was shoulder to shoulder btw--then we were told, "OR you put your laptops away and socialize." -- WOW! You're very controlling. "TALK TO EACH OTHER." (How about STFU and let paying people live their lives the way they want?) As I mentioned-- your approach is FLAWED. If I sat down to read my book and enjoy a glass of wine, would you kick me out? Technically, I'm not socializing. Or if people are on their phones, do you kick them out? So, where is the line? I really try to stay away from giving negative reviews, but I couldn't resist. Okay coffee, overpriced food, and poor service. By 11 AM they were already out of a lot of menu items. When my friend asked what is good (to eat) here, the uninterested barista had no clue. After we ordered, no one told us that they were out of one of the items. They subbed it with a different sandwich without telling us or asking us if that was okay. For a $12 sandwich, we were unimpressed. The only highlight about this place is their giant patio and dining space. The umbrellas outside were broken so we settled for the sweaty sticky couches under the smaller covered area.
