Tried to have a drink in the garden, but it wasn't possible. What seems to have been a toxic combination of lack of training with some, and arrogant and sour rudeness by others both waiting at a garden table or inside at the self service order bar forced us to leave after a long wait. This hotel is classy in every corner you see. Very high quality amenities including down to the soap and shampoo! It's historical and we stayed in, "The Hemingway Suite'. Where the author himself stayed. This is a photo of his registration from October, 1932, residence listed as Key West, FL. The bathroom!!! It's a clawfoot tub and so pretty!!! U can shower or bathe, w/ bath salts provided Walking distance to great food and shopping, a bar and an atreum upstairs w more beautiful, luxurious rooms. Agnes would be proud  .... a must experience This is located in a charming and well traveled tourist area in Wyoming's Friendliest Town.  It is loaded with third grade hotel properties.  We checked into the best hotel in town...with out a doubt.  It is walking  distance from all things worth doing. Beds were firm and the shower was hot and strong.   When one considers the property was very old and a integral part of Wyoming history, the perfect electric and water pressure was like a new structure.  Agnes Chamberlin's creation and history is awesome. The old travel industry had an expression: Orchid and / or Onion letters hopefully to a Corporate CEO who has empathy ....   this is an "orchid".   Client service is always a tough challenge; in America, it has become a disgrace. The Chamberlin Inn deserves the highest marks. No wonder the overseas businesses are surpassing our domestic efforts.  They have people who get the job done, instead of passing it along to another.   Bravo to the Chamberlin Inn  for motivating such fine team. Other than the location, this is a property I will bypass on my next trip to Cody. The staff was "missing" and waited for someone to return to be able to check-in. The room was quaint, but nothing exceptional. The bathroom was nearly non-functional with no sink countertop and a clawfoot tub/shower that required our best efforts to bathe given the curtain and tub height. The continental breakfast was nothing special- fruit, store wrapped danish and day old bagels. Expected so much more after reading the glowing reviews of this B&B. read more

I was welcomed in from a windy night and shown to my room in a hurry...the room was warm, the bed was so comfortable - really good chocolates on the pillow, very very soft sheets, clean as could be...and the bathroom had a clawfoot tub. I am a travel nurse and have been all over the world and this place truly was one of the most special hotels I have ever been in. In spite of covid I was able to get some take out, bring it back, and get a glass of wine in the lounge and bring it to my room. Apparently Ernest Hemingway stayed in this very room years ago! It was absolutely quiet all night long but that may have been due to the fact that there weren't many guests. There are so many beautiful spaces and places to explore in the hotel. I'm definitely going back but this time for a few days. read more

Truly a gem in the middle of beautiful Wyoming. We recently concluded our first Wyoming Alohadventure, a Yoga retreat, with a group of adventurers from Houston, TX. Our group stayed 4 nights at Chamberlin Inn and we could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Our group was welcomed by Shad and he graciously gave our group a tour, which included the Hemingway suite, on the day our group arrived. Bill, the GM. Took care of all our needs. Elizabeth and Holly made the best drinks at the bar. We had Yoga at the Sun Room, the Courtyard House lLoft and at the Courtyard during sunrise. Each room has its own unique appeal. We loved the elegant touches with an at home feel. We cannot wait to being our next group here! read more

Hotel Chamberlin is a quaint 100 year old hotel that had a complete renovation a couple years ago. All new fixtures, bedding, bathrooms etc. It is like staying in a nice new hotel, except everything is in the style from 1914. The owners must love this place because they have really paid attention to detail. For example, in the back is a large garden and yard with tables and chair and whatnot - like a renovated old Coke machine that has free bottles of water. In the rooms you don't get a chocolate on the pillow, you get a box of four from Napa Valley in a cute box tied with a ribbon. The rooms have really nice soaps for the wife and other stuff, the new room air conditioners work great, the light fixtures are all very cool and completely functional, the wall mounted flat screen TV's are better than what I have at home, I can go on and on there's so much that is nice about this hotel. They lose a star because the room door knobs and locks are old-school and a little fussy to use, and the economy rooms just aren't very big and have no shelves. Other than that, I can highly recommend it. The location is also great - it's in the center of town, a short walk from all the restaurants and shops and the Wild West Museum. read more

First timers, stayed for 2 nights. Our room was great, very well appointed. King with extra seating room. I liked how they kept the rooms historic. Very quaint & charming hotel, each room decorated differently. Receptionist was very kind helpful & knowledgeable about the area and helped with recommendations. Kristi the bartender is super cool & made great cocktails. The Inn was walking distance from the downtown area, great location. My only complaint is our shower needed some serious cleaning as there was quite a bit of mold on the grout between the tiles. No elevator so if you can't take stairs, ask to stay downstairs. We would certainly recommend & will come back. read more

We definitely found a true gem! I am a picky travel and I absolutely loved the charm associated with the Chamberlin Inn! The room was clean, the staff was over the top friendly, beautiful outdoor courtyards with gas fire pits. We arrived late, ordered a cocktail from the bar and enjoyed the snacks we brought by the fire. If you are traveling through Yellowstone, a trip out the east entrance into Cody, a night at the Chamberlin and visit to the Buffalo Bill museum is a MUST! read more

I made Cody a destination place to get sanity back, long drive and much more interesting than I expected. Searching for a place in Cody I found the inn. Surprise to me was some of its storied past. Hemingway room was available and stayed here for two nights. It's hard to sense the history here but Hemingway really?! They've got a bar on premises and great staff. The place is an older building and can suffer from plumbing issues though it's part of the local lore of being in Cody. Easy walk to restaurants. We absolutely loved our stay at The Chamberlin! My husband previously stayed and just knew he wanted to bring me back because I was going to fall in love and he was right! The staff was so inviting and helpful, the building is a dream, and our suite was perfect. The sunroom and garden are so quaint and peaceful- a great place to relax after a day in Yellowstone or to listen to music by the fireplace with a cocktail. The entire stay was PURE magic! Highly Recommend! My husband and I checked in after a long road trip from North Dakota on the way to Utah. We checked in after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. We took a room on the main level and it was just as charming as we expected. The patron at the Front Desk was very helpful and we felt comfortable and welcome right away. The room was immaculately clean, with high-end European amenities, organic sheets, fresh flowers in the room, and chocolates waiting for us. The bed was super comfortable and the room was perfect for us to just hang out and rest before day two of our trip. My husband suggested some fresh air and I was so pleasantly surprised by the beautiful garden/patio area out back. Strung with lights, you can hear live music playing in town, it was a perfect way to unwind. The weather was beautiful and I look forward to returning here in the future! I probably travel more than anyone I've ever known. I've stayed in some of the most amazing hotels, bed and breakfasts, Inns and resorts in the world. I've also stayed in some really bad ones. There is nothing not to love about the Chamberlin Inn. Charming, historic, warm, inviting, flawlessly clean, incredible staff, easy parking, affordable, great wine bar, fantastic location. Great stay spoiled by a drunken inconsiderate and noisy family. We liked our little flat in the garden loft with a small but charming roll top bath. On our first night, parents and adult kids beneath us in the garden cottage came back to the inn around 19.30 in a loud drunken state. They were asked by Bill the manager to move inside to their cottage room from the garden at around 21.00 as they continued to be noisy. However they seemed to think that noise was their right......despite a polite but firm request from me (a thing I do well as I used to own an award winning inn....) they continued to be noisy until 00.18 when three of the four went out for more beverages. And of course when they returned they talked loudly and slammed every door in their room etc. Hey ho you cannot blame the Chamberlin for inconsiderate folks and Bill was very apologetic again the next day. The next night after these less than charming folks had checked out and gone home to sleep off their excesses, we also slept well, despite a window a/c unit. We cooked our own supper and all we might suggest is that the kitchen knives might be sharpened. Bill the manager was lovely and professional. read more

The Chamberlin Inn as others have said really is the only nice place to stay in Cody. We find the Inn, which is right off Main Street, we are immediately greeted by the friendly staff who were prepared for our arrival. The Chamberlin is charming and quaint, reminiscent of staying in grandma's early 1900 farmhouse. Yet the Inn has been remodeled, but maintains it's charm. No card keys here, we are handed the old medal keys, one for the room and the other for the entrance in case we come in after 9 p.m. when the doors are locked. Our room is located on the second floor, and is fabulous overlooking the garden. On the bed which is covered in silk bedding is a small box, tied with a bow, inside are 4 chocolate truffles from La Blege Chocolatier. The beds are extremely comfortable are made up with organic linens. The garden is welcoming with tables and chairs scattered about so you can sit and relax, or enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn. The Innkeepers leave unoccupied rooms open, so you can wander the property checking out the other rooms. As a travel agent I love that, as then I can see the rooms and learn more about the property. Each room is different, and the room in which Ernest Hemingway stayed has been designed to reflect his lifestyle. The Inn offers a library and a computer in which to check e-mails and free wi fi in the rooms as well. Upstairs there is a comfortable sitting room in which to curl up with the sun streaming through the windows to read a good book. The staff gave great recommendations on places to eat, and were more than happy to make dinner reservations for us. I can't wait to stay again, I highly recommend the Chamberlin Inn, you won't be disappointed. read more

Beautiful historic hotel, incredible garden courtyard, conservatory, reading rooms upstairs. Very quiet, even on a busy summer night. Our room (standard Queen) was small but cozy, elegantly done. The pillows were very flat (way past their shelf-life), but the bed was quite comfortable. Drawbacks: we stayed in a standard Queen room and the shower stall is about the same size as what you'd find in an Airstream. You have to do a three-point turn in the shower just to turn around and adjust the water. It's really really small. So maybe get an upgraded room (I assume the shower stalls would be larger in a larger footprint...) Also, for $329/night and up per room, you would think Management could provide milk or cream with the morning coffee in the conservatory. Those ubiquitous "creamers" are vile, and the front desk staff told me they do get a lot of complaints about the lack of real milk for the coffee. It's a little thing, but the preservative-laden individual creamers are truly horrible. This isn't a budget motel, after all. Management could spring for a gallon of milk each week to include with the morning coffee and I just have to wonder why they don't bother, especially since there IS a refrigerator right near the conservatory, where the morning coffee is put out, and it sounds like many folks have commented on this oversight. It's a big red flag for me that something that is such a simple fix is regularly disregarded. read more

Very nice historical inn with beautiful ambiance and great location right off the main street and withing a walking distance to many restaurants and stores. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. Special thanks go to the hotel manager, Bill. What a great guy! He will definetly take a good care of you. BTW make sure you ask about the rooms facing either the front or the yard area, if you are like me and the view is important to you. We had the room facing the yard and I loved it. I would definetly recommend this place to anyone staying in Cody. I really dont think you can find better accommodations in town. read more

Been to multiple hotels in various countries / states and this has been one of my top hotel experiences thus far. The hotel itself is essentially a time capsule, capturing parts of decades old Cody that leave a story to be told! There is a nice spot to hang out and grab adult beverages / play some family games in the sun room. As if that's not enough the customer service is without a doubt unmatched. We took a chance on this place and it totally exceeded our expectations. First of all the town is super cute. From the moment we arrived our host, Bill, was as accommodating and friendly as anyone could be. He helped with our luggage and gave us a tour of this beautifully restored hotel. Our room is gorgeous and so are the grounds. They have a gorgeous courtyard and each room is different and beautifully decorated. They have a cocktail hour where we sat in the outdoor garden area. The Chamberlain Inn is a historic hotel in the heart of Cody. It is on a side street and offers a remodeled turn of the century boutique hotel experience. The remodel is impeccably done and attention to detail makes the surroundings both quaint and historically accurate. The hotel had Peacock Alley towels, chocolates, and French milled soaps. A kitchenette in our room offered a coffee station and basic utensils. The rooms are SMALL, there is no central Air conditioning, the stairs pose difficulty for some disabled patrons, the staff were ambivalent at best and the experience was very over priced. If you can burn $400 on a room then it can be a fun experience to stay in a historic hotel. read more

This place was great from the moment we walked in. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful when suggesting restaurants and even calling to see if some were open. Their outdoor area was so peaceful with great scenery. We had a few cocktails out there and even enjoyed one of their flat bread pizzas that were offered. The grounds were very well kept and clean. The bathrooms were also very clean and updated. I would highly recommend The Chamberlin Inn and would stay there if I was ever passing through Cody again. read more

Everything was amazing! We chose it for the location, we wanted to be in the center of town. Quiet, comfortable beds, reasonably priced. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming, full of suggestions and eager to do anything to make our stay better. The hotel is a wonderfully full of history, antiques and old world charm but newly renovated so we weren't struggling with old plumbing or lack of Internet. They have a new lounge that is worth the trip whether you stay there or not. inside is like a comfortable living room, but the courtyard is the gem. Lush landscaping, groups of tables scattered around the yard. It was tranquil and relaxing with attentive staff, complimentary fruit and cheese, and excellent cocktails, we didn't want to leave. read more

Our room seemed to have some light coming in at night, so a thicker curtain over the transom and the window would make the experience absolutely perfect. The price was around $200, including tax. Did I mention that the sheets were organic? 2. They have the most amazing gourmet chocolates that arrive neatly wrapped in a beautiful box with a satin bow on your pillow. No generic chocolate here... 3. Clawfoot Tub, need I say more? 4. Imported bath salts and soaps for your convenience. 5. Aside from the amazing decor, fabulous location, gourmet kitchen and overall luxury, the owners are wonderful, kind, helpful and the service is fantastic. As others have indicated, this really is the only place to stay in Cody. I ended up staying here for a combined couple of weeks and it was truly an oasis at the end of each day. The beds are comfortable, they have flat screens for entertainment and the owners and staff make you feel right at home. The attention to detail is amazing on all levels. They even use "green" cleaning supplies. Stay at the Chamberlin and walk around the corner and have dinner at The Proud Cut. There is no better one-two punch in Cody! read more

The door locks are annoying because you need two hands to open the door. The bathroom has no fan!?! And Cody is really not that close to the park. Get new pillows that are comfortable. New drapes and bedspread that are not made of polyester. There was no polyester in the late 1800's or early 1900's. With all the work that they've done to keep it authentic, that gross fabric just doesn't work. The staff should be informed on dining options. The website should be updated. Our room was comfortable and although a little on the small side, there were many sitting areas around the place, from sunrooms to a library. The place was spotless and very restful. Very special place to stay while in Cody. Gracious staff and owners that care equally about the guest experience and surroundings (room, courtyard, bar, library, etc). I stayed in the Hemingway Suite - room #18, and it was everything I anticipated. Well detailed right down to the amenities in the room. They even have a large selection of Hemingway books to pass the time should you want to wind down. Great, private courtyard you never see at hotels, particularly out west. I loved the bar and bartender, Liz, who operates like she owns the place - very empowered, which is a sign of enlightened ownership. I used to stay at The Cody Hotel, which is new and nice, but can't compete with historical ambiance coupled with unparalleled guest service. read more

Without a doubt the best hotel we've stayed on the whole trip. The building itself is beautiful - I can't remember when it was built, but it feels directly out of the 1880s, with all of the touches of modernity that make it feel comfortable.
