TLDR: Pete is a fantastic barber and if you've been striking out in West Chester looking for the best barber then you should go see him. Experience: It took me less than 2 minutes to book an appointment online via their website and they had several spots available after 6PM which was very helpful. Pete has tremendous attention to detail and he's extremely experienced with clippers, fading, etc. He nailed the style that I was looking for. Pete takes his craft seriously and delivers with a very easy-going demeanor. Between Pete being great, the fast turn around, and the whole thing only costing $25 + tip, The Refinery secured my business for life. I'll also add that the location itself is nice and located across the street from the courthouse parking garage which is super convenient for people who want to park in town for free.

I booked a simple blowout with some curls -- nothing complicated -- but was met with pushback and attitude the moment I arrived. Instead of listening to my request, the stylist (who turned out to be the owner, Freida) insisted on doing it her way. She straightened the top of my hair near the roots and curled only the bottom, which left it looking frizzy, flat, and messy. I politely asked her to fix it multiple times, but the more she touched it, the worse it got. Rather than listening or trying to improve the situation, Freida became increasingly rude and dismissive. I was shocked by how unprofessional and cold she was -- especially as the owner. I left the salon in tears, completely humiliated and disappointed. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The layers were not blended- the shortest layer was one blunt cut that didn't blend or flow with the rest of my hair... it looks like weird long bangs. It's truly awful, I cried. I can't do a single thing with my hair; everything honestly looks so terrible! I am truly disappointed and saddened. I went to another salon to get the layers fixed.
