This is one of the best places to get your hair styled (cut) in Delco. They style (cut) hair for men, women and children. They have been in business a long time. Their staff knows hair. This isnt like a franchise where you have to guess from week to week who is going to be cutting your hair. Here, you form relationships with your people. They are kind, and in styling, washing and cutting your hair, they give it the personal touch. Want your beard or moustache trimmed? that's no extra cost. Our family has come here for years. I have little difficulty giving a larger than average tip here--because it is always well earned. For men, the rates are quite reasonable--$22 for a wash, cut styling, and getting my beard and moustache trimmed. But i normally tip $8 on top of that so its an even $30. They do great work here. I only wish all businesses were this well run. read more

My best friend still has Vicky do her hair, even though she hasn't lived in Swarthmore in 9 years - she flies back a couple of times a year to visit the family and always makes her appointments then. So of course for her wedding, Vicky did our hair. It was beautiful - see the pictures - and it didn't move an inch. Of course, she teased it to high heaven before twisting and pinning it, and used probably an entire bottle of hair spray. But she was friendly and meticulous, and it's probably the most beautiful updo I've ever had. One of the other bridesmaids had her hair done by Shelly, and there was considerably less teasing, and it still looked gorgeous and stayed up the entire day. read more

The first time I visited, I was just looking for a trim with layers while keeping the length of my long hair. I was very satisfied with the end result. A few months later, I came back to the salon and ended up with the same person. This time, I wanted to cut off about a foot of my hair: about shoulder length with layers. Unfortunately, everything turned out choppy and very uneven :( I didn't notice until I was home (out of state college student home for the holidays), so I couldn't come back to fix it. I'll have to find another place/person to even it out, but I'll definitely come back to Co-Ed. They're lovely people and great conversationalists, and their prices are fair. If I was able to visit them again to ask them to fix up my botched haircut, I know they would've been able to do it. read more

I went in for a short pixie cut, as short as the woman could get with scissors, and she also did razor and thinning shears at my request. However, the thinning shears left me with a bald spot. When I realized what had happened and went back for a refund the manager was clearly unwilling to recognize that a refund was in order. I got one, but it seemed more to get me to leave rather than in recognition that my scalp was visible in one spot and that was not okay, nor what I asked for. Would not recommend. read more
