Over the years, I have moved to different cities and tried new stylists. Some have been wonderful, creating exactly the look I desired, while others went completely off the rail, making me want to put a paper bag over my head until my hair grew out. I have been going to Dee Dee at Elegant Touch for over 2 years now and I couldn't be happier. When I find a stylist who LISTENS and advises me on color choices, cuts to go with my facial structure, and doesn't overcharge, well honey, I remain a loyal customer. Dee Dee does a fantastic job. I'm not rating her performance solely on my own opinion and satisfaction, but a combination of that and the plentiful amount of compliments I am constantly receiving. And the price for these services? You absolutely cannot compete! I tend to find that women often overpay for salon services. They will routinely visit snazzy, upscale salons, where they receive the standard, "trendy" cut with no customization for their face or style, which blends them into the masses. Elegant Touch offers a comfortable atmosphere, superior stylists, and a staff of friendly salon professionals. If you're looking for a unique cut and color, thats tailored to YOU as an individual, then Elegant Touch is the salon for you.

The staff is incredibly friendly. An eyebrow wax was about $18. A little bit pricey, however, very much worth it. For many years, I would go to the mall for eyebrow threading. It was cheap, affordable, and eh. But my eyebrows never looked right. I also tried the chain, European Wax Center. Which was way too pricey and just an uncomfortable atmosphere. I couldn't believe how beautiful my eyebrows looked today at Jean Raymond! The stylists name was Peggy! I recommend her to anyone looking for awesome eyebrows. She really takes her time and actually helps you understand what she's doing. She asked enough questions to get what I had wanted with my eyebrows and made the entire experience so much fun! Finally found my eyebrow place :)

This salon is what - I think - all salons should be: A great place to get your hair (or nails or massage or facials) done in a super-friendly, customer service-oriented environment. It's the "Cheers" of salons: A place where everybody knows your name! I have a view of the other chairs from Christine's station and I can tell you with complete confidence that EVERY client leaves looking great regardless of age, hair color or type or sex. My wife came in for a haircut and blow dry, and our son (who has long, curly/wavy hair) was…read morescheduled for a trim at the same time. While my wife was getting her hair washed, our son's haircut was done, so she didn't get to see the result until the very end. Her haircut itself was fine, but the blow dry was poorly done. The stylist only straightened the mid-lengths and ends, leaving the top 2-3 inches at the roots curly and frizzy. When she pointed this out, the stylist said it was "because her hair is curly." She explained that she had plenty of blowouts before and that the roots are always smoothed. He offered to flat iron it, but that's not what she wanted. She expected a proper blowout, not bone-straight hair. When she told him that he should've been upfront if he couldn't do a blowout, he got defensive and raised his voice. She wasn't going to let anyone speak to her disrespectfully, so she raised her voice too. At that point, the other stylist stepped in to re-wet her hair, and my wife used her own curly hair products and just left with her hair natural. Then she looked at our son's haircut and it was visibly uneven and crooked. When she brought it up, both stylists insisted it was "just the way curly hair looks" or that she was "pulling on a strand." That wasn't the case, it was just a bad, rushed cut. They did offer to fix it, but by then she'd lost all confidence in their ability to do so. If you don't know how to properly work with curly hair, cutting it or blowing it out , just say so. This wasn't our first time here, and her previous experience was decent, but this visit was disappointing. It felt rushed and careless, and that simply doesn't work with curly hair. We won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, my haircut came with a lecture on why I MUST condition every day (despite explaining that I hate how it feels), and then, after I disclosed that I own a hair dryer but only use it a few times a year I go the response, "Why don't you dry your hair? Are you lazy?' Hair cut satisfaction aside (I'm not thrilled), I definitely won't be going back because of the attitude.

This isnt like a franchise where you have to guess from week to week who is going to be cutting your hair. Here, you form relationships with your people. They are kind, and in styling, washing and cutting your hair, they give it the personal touch. Want your beard or moustache trimmed? that's no extra cost. Our family has come here for years. I have little difficulty giving a larger than average tip here--because it is always well earned. For men, the rates are quite reasonable--$22 for a wash, cut styling, and getting my beard and moustache trimmed. But i normally tip $8 on top of that so its an even $30. They do great work here. I only wish all businesses were this well run.
