It made me feel bad for the child's mother, who was put in an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation. If there were concerns about the child's hair or the service, I believe the mother should have been pulled aside and spoken to privately and respectfully. Professionalism includes treating every client with kindness and discretion, especially children. I hope the salon considers handling situations like this more compassionately in the future. I have been going to Dee Dee at Elegant Touch for over 2 years now and I couldn't be happier. And the price for these services? You absolutely cannot compete! I tend to find that women often overpay for salon services. They will routinely visit snazzy, upscale salons, where they receive the standard, "trendy" cut with no customization for their face or style, which blends them into the masses. The staff is incredibly friendly. An eyebrow wax was about $18. A little bit pricey, however, very much worth it. For many years, I would go to the mall for eyebrow threading. It was cheap, affordable, and eh. But my eyebrows never looked right. I also tried the chain, European Wax Center. Which was way too pricey and just an uncomfortable atmosphere. I couldn't believe how beautiful my eyebrows looked today at Jean Raymond! The stylists name was Peggy! I recommend her to anyone looking for awesome eyebrows. She really takes her time and actually helps you understand what she's doing. She asked enough questions to get what I had wanted with my eyebrows and made the entire experience so much fun! Finally found my eyebrow place :)

After reading some good Yelp reviews, I made an appointment for yesterday with Tara. I called in…read morethe morning and she got me in a couple hours later. I wanted a shorter cut just for a change. I showed her a couple pictures and she said it would be no problem with my curly hair. Tara cut off a good amount of hair and then to my surprise she straightened it. I never ever straighten my hair. It's a very nice cut and she styled it beautifully. I told her I would never straighten my hair myself and she said it would be just as nice curly (and much easier). She was right. I washed my hair and styled it curly and I love it! I would definitely recommend this salon, and Tara. My whole experience was wonderful and I will definitely be back! Thanks Tara!

I have been following this place for the years since it opened and its rave reviews but somehow I never made it here as I was stuck in the rut of "State-Street-in -Media -only" hairdressing. There's approximately 11 salons on that street and small side streets so that is the area in Western Delaware County where everybody goes. State Street is the happening place to go to get your hair done. Chrome isn't within the downtown area per se but on the outskirts out by the Media bypass. And this is one of the reasons why I jumped out of my comfort zone and gave it a shot because they have their own parking lot and that's worth it's weight in gold instead of driving around for 10 minutes trying to find a parking spot in busy Downtown Media. That's where the differences end. This salon is just as active, vibrant ,upbeat and in tune with current styles and products as all those overpriced State Street salons. I tend to only want to stay with hairdressers for about five years so I was looking for somebody new and I selected SHERI M. I was not disappointed. She spent her time looking at my hair and the suggestions she had were great. This was indicative of her vast experience as a hairdresser. She has a true "feel "for her clients. The first time I went she cut my hair and I was very happy with it so I scheduled a foil touchup three weeks later. I was beyond happy with how I looked after I left there. When she found that I sometimes like to go to bed with my hair damp because it comes out wavy and curly in the morning, she suggested a product to put in before bedtime that would keep the curls intact but eliminate the frizz that has seemed to have developed in my hair in the last year. I love that this is a family owned and run salon. I hadn't met the owners but I met a man there recently who was doing shampooing who was somehow related to the family and he gave me the history of how Chrome came about. It was also interesting to hear that they had recently started their own hairdressing Academy. All in all you'll get a great feel for Chrome and enjoy your experience there. I know I'll certainly be back.

And inside it is SPACIOUS, with numerous different rooms... which means they are set-up really well for distancing. (I was impressed.) The one thing to be careful about is your exit. If you need to make a left turn across Baltimore Pike and if traffic is busy, I recommend you go right instead and do a u-turn at the first traffic light. (Much easier and safer.) (I go to Chrome for Mag. I'm a fan of hers. She's good at cutting curly/wild hair.)
