    Iced coffee with coffee cubes
    Duha S.

You're going to have to excused the half drank coffee but I guess that's an i dictator of how good this is! I'm not a normal coffee drinker so this was quite amazing for me to be raving about it. The prices are reasonable- you're not paying 8$ for a coffee. My drink was an iced coffee with coffee cubes and a shot of hazelnut syrup (I like my coffee a little sweeter) and was $4.50 The line moves fast and the barista saw kind. There is no wifi here but still many people working on their laptops. It seems like a neighborhood staple. They have a selection of donuts and sweet treats but there is also a great bagel shop across the street! The coffee ice cubes were amazing and made sure the coffee doesn't get watered down.

Interior with menu on the wall. Vegan donuts.

This is my go-to place for coffee in Berkeley. The baristas are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed with limited seating inside and out, on Gilman Street. They feature a variety of coffees, which vary by the day. Regular coffee is typically full flavored and strong, and somewhat bitter. The cappuccino is similar. Reasonable prices. Donut Farm supplies vegan pastries.

Cute little coffee place near a residential area. Came close to opening so didn't have to wait in line and while waiting for my latte to be made got to explore all the interesting objects on the walls and shelves. There definitely is a character to this coffee place, in a good way. Solid latte. A good size for the price. A good balance of bitter and creamy. Per other reviews they don't upcharge for non-dairy milk, I went with regular, but an added bonus for those that don't drink dairy milk. Donuts. Ended up getting an apple fritter which was sweet and went wonderfully with my latte. Wish there was more apple flavor but it was an added bonus that there were donuts available.

Such a cute, neighborly coffee shop. They have delicious iced coffee and you can choose to get coffee ice cubes swapped in place of regular iced coffees (so the coffee doesn't taste run down, genius). They also serve really good vegan donuts. I tried the chocolate coconut, lavender earl gray, and cinnamon sugar donut. The lavender early gray was by far my favorite flavor and I'm already looking forward to trying the other flavors the next time I stop by.

Update! The vegan donuts are sooo good- not too sugary and are dense cake donuts. I tried the labvender earl gray, cinnamon sugar, and coconut chocolate. My favs where the lavender earl gray and the coconut chocolate! Definitely give it a try - they taste amazing with a nice cup of coffee.

    Maple oat cappuccino

Wow!! A fully vegan bakery with amazing coffee, and a place to shop? I was so glad this was one of the coffee shops I stumbled upon on a super early Sunday morning, since the barista was nice enough to provide me a mask and walk me through the various milks they have. One of the best caps I've had, get the maple oat cappuccino, since it was super smooth and nothing like a generic coffee shop. Also super affordable with lots of free street parking in the mornings. Can't wait to come back!

Lemon Meyer donut and 12 oz vanilla clove latte= $7.50
    Cari A.

I've always walked by coffee conscious but finally had some time to check this place out. Customers line up outside until called. I ordered a 12 oz vanilla clove latte ($4.50) and a lemon Meyer donut ($3.00). Everything is currently grab and go as of 8/7/2020. Pros: -they have hand sanitizer inside -lots of interesting things to look at inside the shop -lots of donut flavor options -free street parking in front -friendly staff Cons: -n/a

They were having a special if you spent x amount, your coffee was complimentary or in all reality, I think it came to about .25 cents! They chose the cutest panda bear donuts as the decorated donuts, and it was such a fun breakfast vibe full of all the whimsy. They included a bag with napkins and coffee creamer which was a nice touch. And omg, the egg/cheese croissant...so good! There is truly something special about the discovery of breakfast croissants at spots that don't typically market them. (See pic) but the croissant was hearty and layered high with gooey cheese and warm egg. The croissant was warm, buttery, and it seemed like potentially put in a press. Chefs kiss, no notes. I noticed you could add meat and/or avocado, but it was perfect paired down. All in all, a food delivery gone right! Hard to come by these days, and my first time ever executing a delivery order before 7am haha. Thank you for adding to a truly special day, can't wait to visit soon!

This well-established donut shop is small but has lots of options. There is also some outdoor seating right outside the store. The service is quick, and the person behind the counter is always willing to answer questions. My friend and I both tried an apple fritter, and my partner got a chocolate milk. The apple fritter was crispy with a nice glaze on top and delicious chunks of caramelized apple inside. This donut was extremely sweet, but honestly it's exactly what we needed! I normally go for apple cider donuts, so this was a great alternative. It's a good place to go when friends are visiting!

A GLAZED BACK TO WINCHELL'S…read more Growing up as a kid in the 1980s my family and me would go to Winchell's on Sundays after Mass. The only donut I really like at Winchell's was the glazed as it had the lightly coated frosting yet the donut was not dense inside. Eventually Winchell's in the 1990s were later phased out by Krispy Kreme. I like Krispy Kreme because of the glazed also, but the sugar frosting can be too much. There are a lot of mom-and-pop donut shops that sell glazed raised donuts. However the glazed raised donuts at those shops tend to be dense inside. I like my glazed raised donuts with the balance between the ones I ate at Winchell's and Krispy Kreme. When I was a student at California I liked going to Kin Pin Donuts because of the butter milk bar. I came here to King Pin Donuts today as tomorrow is National Glazed Donut Day. The glazed I ordered had a lightly coated sugar frosting, yet the donut wasn't dense inside. If a glazed donut is dense I cannot order another one. I would equate this to a pizza if the crust is dense I can only eat one slice. At Kin Pin Donuts since I didn't feel bloated after eating the glazed raised donut I ordered another raised donut but this time with a chocolate frosting. What I really liked about the raised donuts at King Pin Donuts are the crispy outside. At King Pin Donuts for the raised donuts there are three textures: sweet frosting, fluffy inside, and crispy outside. How do you know if donuts at a donut shop are good? Just order a glazed or chocolate raised donuts to taste to find out if they're not dense. If a donut shop cannot bake a basic donut like raised donut, then most likely the rest of the donuts are not that good. If you are unsure what donuts to order at Kin Pin Donuts just order a raised donut.

I also ended up taking my sister so she could see what vegan food is about. 1. My sister had the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was an absolute texture nightmare, the coconut rice was gross and mushy, the tofu was completely bland, the random spicy curry sauce was unblended & completely overpowered everything. Just really one of the worst burritos I've had in my life. She couldn't get past two bites before throwing it out. I also bit it, and I agree with everything my sister said. 2. I got the tempeh reuben sandwich and it was equally bad with bland soggy fries. It was edible and I finished half of the sandwich with a ton of hot sauce but I threw out the other half. I legitimately could not finish it. I think king oyster mushrooms would be a better substitute for the "bacon". 3. The donuts are AMAZING & deserve to stand alone. The lemon one was absolutely incredible. If I would've only purchased the donuts I would've given Donut farm 5 stars. There's a price range from $3.00, $3.50, $4.00, and $4.50. I think they're reasonable prices for how good they were. The only one that was okay was the chocolate coconut. In conclusion, the food needs a lot of work. I know this is a small business, but please taste the food that comes out . The sandwich was $18 and the burrito was $16. I never complain about the prices from small business owners because I love to support but it was expensive for the quality of food I received. The service was also okay, it felt like everyone was stressed lol, I'm not complaining bc I know we all have our days but this was my first time at Donut Farm and I wish my experience would've been more pleasant so I'd be willing to give it another chance.

The bakery itself seems to mainly be a takeout spot, with minimal indoor seating which felt pretty inconvenient given the limited space for customers, however it did seem to serve more of a purpose as a waiting area anyways. The structure of the bakery leaves a bit to be desired as well, as we found the glass display cases as the only form of menu, so being in the front of the line while still deciding what to order caused some unnecessary anxiety. Regardless of those nitpicks, the baked goods themselves were pretty good! Service was instant, and all of the treats looked delicious--it was hard to choose what we wanted! Our favorites were the Thai Tea and Ube Coconut Mochi Donuts. Both had really strong flavors--the Ube in particular was very clear in comparison to most other Ube desserts in my experience. The textures of the mochi donuts were really well done too, with soft exteriors and chewy, glutinous interiors. The same can be said about the Mochi Muffins, though with crunchier parts around the edges. We found the contrast of textures to actually work really well! However, the flavors of the Muffins were lacking a bit--the Red Velvet didn't stand out much, with the frosting tasting a bit too sweet, and while the Five Spice had a really interesting flavor, it was also a bit too sweet, drowning out the more unique citrusy flavor. Overall, however, all four of the goods we had were enjoyable eats, and would definitely return some time to try out other flavors!
