Solid donut selection! The chocolate with sprinkles was delicious. Simple but a classic. As was the case with their basic glaze too. My husband and I got the blueberry fritter and creme brulee donuts to try but we weren't impressed. Might just be due to personal preference of crunch for fritter and idk if we are creme brulee donut people lol. We def will come again for the classics and to try other fun flavors.

Rainbow Donuts in Berkeley is one of those low-key neighborhood gems that just gets it. I came in craving something sweet and left very happy--especially thanks to their Boston cream donut, which is delicious! The dough is perfectly soft and fluffy, the vanilla cream is rich without being too heavy, and the chocolate glaze on top ties it all together beautifully. It tastes fresh and indulgent in the best way. I was there on New Year's Eve, and they had the cutest themed donuts--adorable panda bear donuts and festive "Happy New Year" designs that made the whole experience extra fun and memorable. You can tell they put real care into both creativity and presentation. Beyond the donuts, the vibe is great: relaxed, friendly, and unpretentious. It feels like a classic donut shop where you can take your time, chat a bit, and actually enjoy being there. Whether you're grabbing a quick treat or celebrating a moment, Rainbow Donut delivers on both flavor and atmosphere. Definitely a Berkeley favorite I'll keep coming back to.

I really enjoyed these donuts, they definitely are on the sugary side, but what donut isn't?! The donuts here though were soft and fluffy, which already beats a lot of places. It definitely tastes fresh and they have such a great variety.

Saw the inviting pink sign from across the street as we ate dinner. We got in right before closing and were greeted by the wonderful a lady behind the counter. Got an apple fritter and a couple donuts. She gave us a couple others to try too. So hospitable. She packed up our box and bag and noticed we ended up with about a dozen extras on the house. Such a nice surprise! Their donuts are light and fluffy with tons of flavor. If you haven't been here, this should be your go-to donut spot. They also sell lotto tickets too!

Truly a staple here in Berkeley. Get there early for a good spot, get there late for their unique kiddie donuts. Belinda always greets us and is a joy to interact with. My favorite is the maple bacon donut in which you can never go wrong.

Can't believe I haven't tried this place sooner! The donuts were incredibly soft and the breakfast croissant sandwich was buttery, flakey and perfect. Will definitely be coming again.

Such cute donuts here! Happened to walk by with a friend so we stopped in. I loved the unicorn donuts -- those would have totally been my go-to as a kid! All of them were so beautifully decorated. We got Ube Crumb Donuts, and they were so good! A gorgeous purple color with crumb coating. They were so soft yet still had that cake donut texture, and the ube flavor actually came through! Deeply impressed. There's some tables and seating inside, though I struggled to find any napkins. There was no line when we were there at 12:30 PM on a Thursday, but I figure the mornings must be busier because not all of the different donut varieties were there. The lady serving us was efficient yet patient, allowing my friend time to decide what she wanted. Would definitely like to try their raised donuts next time!

Our new favorite donut spot in the Bay! Beautiful design, tons of choices for all the types of donut eaters, plenty of seating. Great service as I was getting donuts and they suggested half a dozen would be less which I appreciated. If you like donuts, just go!

Honestly, I'm not a fan of cake style donuts, I'm more of a raised donut kinda person. Unfortunately, it seems cake donuts are the . Regular or vegan, I just haven't liked them. They're heavy, oily and not good. I have no idea what Rainbow does, but their vegan donuts are surprisingly good!! My brother got me 3 for my birthday and I wasn't sure what to expect. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised! I hope to stop in and try them again in person!

First off the service here is immaculate. Everyone is SO nice and helpful. It feels like they hook me up everyday, but I think that's actually just their incredibly adorable prices. And I'm talking about fire deals for every incentive donuts. The ambiance is soo cute and honestly comforting since pink is my fav color. Donut wise- the cake ones are my fav. Today I noticed they make jelly/custard filled donut wholes for $1. They also have a creme brulee donut, ube donut, cute little designed donuts etc... go check them out!

I love getting donuts here for my work. Everyone is always so excited when I bring them in. Super cute and love the seasonal festivity. AND the donuts are actually good.

Stocked up at Rainbow Donuts before a long drive. I enjoyed my toasted cheese bagel with cream cheese. Then I got three donuts, all of which were good. 1. Creme Brulee donut - A couple of bites before you get to the custard center, but when you did, the combo of custard and brulee top was exceptional! This was my fav. Very sweet, as to be expected. 2. Smores donut - a chocolate donut with graham cracker crumbs on top plus a big marshmallow in the middle. 3. Fruity Pebbles donut - some sort of a glaze with Fruity Pebbles on top. Maybe dip the donut further in that sticky glaze and allow the fruity pebbles go down the side or even all around? The donut a bit was too big and fluffy for the toppings.

What a cute bakery! Finally got to try this shop for national donut day and I was so pleasantly surprised. There was such a large amount of variety, it was almost too hard to make a choice. I went around 6:30 am, so I got to see the full menu. Everything was so fresh and it smelled so good in there. The donuts were just being made, you could see the icing still needing to firm up! I ended up going with a lemon blueberry donut and a creme brûlée (one of my favorite desserts!) Both were so delicious! The woman helping me also threw in a free chocolate cake donut for national donut day, which was really nice of her :) I will definitely be coming back to try more of their extensive menu!!

Do you have gluten free options?

Sorry we don’t carry gluten free options .

Do you guys do custom donut orders?

    Hi yes we do

Hi do you sell vegan donuts?

    Yes they do! So bomb!

    Any gluten free options?

Yes, they have a few! They'll be labeled as gluten free. I can't remember the flavors though.

Which ones are considered the 'regular dozen' ? Only plain glazed or can you include raised with icing and oreo sprinkled? Is there a list of what is considered 'regular dozen' item?

Hi !Those are all included. The only ones that aren’t included are cronuts, filed donuts, larger sized donuts, and any decorated donuts. Thanks!

Will there still be a good selection of donuts if I plan on coming in on a Friday around 9 AM? Just wanted to make sure they don't sell out by then. Thanks!

Yes! I go in the evenings and they still have all the selections and more and tastes fresh!

How fast do the donuts sell out on a sunday?

We sell out of most flavored and custom by 12. We usually still have some left after but just less variety. Thanks!

This well-established donut shop is small but has lots of options. There is also some outdoor seating right outside the store. The service is quick, and the person behind the counter is always willing to answer questions. My friend and I both tried an apple fritter, and my partner got a chocolate milk. The apple fritter was crispy with a nice glaze on top and delicious chunks of caramelized apple inside. This donut was extremely sweet, but honestly it's exactly what we needed! I normally go for apple cider donuts, so this was a great alternative. It's a good place to go when friends are visiting!

A GLAZED BACK TO WINCHELL'S…read more Growing up as a kid in the 1980s my family and me would go to Winchell's on Sundays after Mass. The only donut I really like at Winchell's was the glazed as it had the lightly coated frosting yet the donut was not dense inside. Eventually Winchell's in the 1990s were later phased out by Krispy Kreme. I like Krispy Kreme because of the glazed also, but the sugar frosting can be too much. There are a lot of mom-and-pop donut shops that sell glazed raised donuts. However the glazed raised donuts at those shops tend to be dense inside. I like my glazed raised donuts with the balance between the ones I ate at Winchell's and Krispy Kreme. When I was a student at California I liked going to Kin Pin Donuts because of the butter milk bar. I came here to King Pin Donuts today as tomorrow is National Glazed Donut Day. The glazed I ordered had a lightly coated sugar frosting, yet the donut wasn't dense inside. If a glazed donut is dense I cannot order another one. I would equate this to a pizza if the crust is dense I can only eat one slice. At Kin Pin Donuts since I didn't feel bloated after eating the glazed raised donut I ordered another raised donut but this time with a chocolate frosting. What I really liked about the raised donuts at King Pin Donuts are the crispy outside. At King Pin Donuts for the raised donuts there are three textures: sweet frosting, fluffy inside, and crispy outside. How do you know if donuts at a donut shop are good? Just order a glazed or chocolate raised donuts to taste to find out if they're not dense. If a donut shop cannot bake a basic donut like raised donut, then most likely the rest of the donuts are not that good. If you are unsure what donuts to order at Kin Pin Donuts just order a raised donut.

I also ended up taking my sister so she could see what vegan food is about. 1. My sister had the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was an absolute texture nightmare, the coconut rice was gross and mushy, the tofu was completely bland, the random spicy curry sauce was unblended & completely overpowered everything. Just really one of the worst burritos I've had in my life. She couldn't get past two bites before throwing it out. I also bit it, and I agree with everything my sister said. 2. I got the tempeh reuben sandwich and it was equally bad with bland soggy fries. It was edible and I finished half of the sandwich with a ton of hot sauce but I threw out the other half. I legitimately could not finish it. I think king oyster mushrooms would be a better substitute for the "bacon". 3. The donuts are AMAZING & deserve to stand alone. The lemon one was absolutely incredible. If I would've only purchased the donuts I would've given Donut farm 5 stars. There's a price range from $3.00, $3.50, $4.00, and $4.50. I think they're reasonable prices for how good they were. The only one that was okay was the chocolate coconut. In conclusion, the food needs a lot of work. I know this is a small business, but please taste the food that comes out . The sandwich was $18 and the burrito was $16. I never complain about the prices from small business owners because I love to support but it was expensive for the quality of food I received. The service was also okay, it felt like everyone was stressed lol, I'm not complaining bc I know we all have our days but this was my first time at Donut Farm and I wish my experience would've been more pleasant so I'd be willing to give it another chance.
