My job loved the donuts. The variety of toppings. Quality is excellent. No doubt I will return soon

When I've seen the sign for this or any of their numerous locations, I've asked myself the probing question what would make a donut happy. After all, the donut is presumably the victim of a happy donut eater, and it would be mere residue in the digestive tract, wouldn't it? However, I didn't trouble the proprietress of this shop with my rhetorical inquiry. She just wanted to know which dozen I plan to order. It likely disappointed her that I ordered just one, a nice plain $1.35 Ube Donut (photo: https://bit.ly/39zQ3H4) with a small $1.40 cup of coffee (photo: https://bit.ly/3G51xON). It didn't diminish her good humor though. There wasn't any indoor seating, so I took my donut and coffee to the parking lot to imbibe them. That made me a Happy Donut Eater. DONUT - 4 stars...I like ube, not overly sweet AMBIANCE - 3 stars...well, it's a typical shop in the chain SERVICE - 4 stars...the owner was a stitch TOTAL - 4 stars...well, the donuts are happy RELATED - Exploring Albany? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/3ebRKbk

Coffee is always on point using local grinds, sweets are always solid. The owner is super generous and courteous. Good music btw!!

I wanted to pickup donuts for some co-workers and found this place on the way with good reviews! Before I came, I called to confirm they were open and that the cost of a dozen donuts was $13. The service is quick, but it's not very friendly. I felt very rushed and it was hard to understand questions because they were getting muffled and spoke so quickly. In the end, I was given a lecture by the employee about not listening, which was not a great way to start the morning haha. I was told at the register that the price for the dozen was $13, but my card ended up being charged $18. I should have checked more closely when I was being rung up, but I wasn't even offered a receipt. The cake donut I tried was nice and moist and my co-workers really enjoyed the donuts, but I'm not sure I would come back here again because of the service.

Maple bacon donut. Couldn't wait lol & the caramel macchiato which was also really good ! Slightly strong but great for a true coffee lover

The maple bacon donut was soooo good! The customer service was also so great. Definitely come back again!

Ask the Community - Happy Donut

Will they be open 24/7 again after the pandemic?

Hi Thompson C: can you possibly take photo(s) then post, your current pricing display panels? The photo rate boards on your Yelp are very outdated and I can't find your rates or online anywhere. Would help us decide ahead, or call in order. Thanks.

Posted them up! Sorry for the delay.

Most recently I finally was able to give them a try. So glad we did! We came around lunch time and sat at a booth. There were other worker bees grabbing a quick lunch. The service was quick, efficient and friendly, and we ordered the French onion soup to start, and split the fried chicken sandwich and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The sandwiches come with a side, so one plate we did fries with a house-made aioli and the other plate, their quinoa kale salad. Delicious. Such hearty portions! The bread is so fresh, the meat juicy and ample, and flavors just right. We also ordered beer on tap, shoutout to Oakland United, and tried their house-made hot sauce that they also sell by the bottle. Would love to come back to try brunch here too. I also saw a patron ordering the quinoa kale salad with fried chicken, and yes, that's the vibe! Pricing is fair for the quality and quantity, and street parking available (although the restaurant is located at the bottom of Solano where it tends to be a bit more busy). Women-owned biz, and they also were on Check Please! Bay Area.

If you've ever had Arsicault, then you'll understand what I mean when I say this place is a true contender. And the best part? You don't have to travel far, pay that toll bridge, or deal with expensive gas. Save all that and give this place a try! Do note: Canelé -- available Friday to Sunday Pastel de nata (Portuguese tarts) -- available Saturday & Sunday What I've tried: Croissant -- Yum, yum, yum! From end to end, it has that perfectly crunchy exterior, and not a hollow bite in sight. Every bite is flaky, buttery, and satisfying. Chocolate Croissant -- A must if you love chocolate. Rich, flaky, and indulgent. Almond Croissant -- Another delicious contender. Nutty, sweet, and absolutely worth it. Apricot Croissant -- Not bad at all. The apricot adds a nice touch without overpowering the pastry. Bostock -- This one was a miss for me. It looked beautiful, but it was missing that little finesse that makes you want another bite. Gâteau au Fromage (Basque Cheesecake) -- A bit pricey, but so worth the splurge because they really know how to nail it. One bite and you won't be able to stop until it's gone. Pastel de Nata -- Crispy edges with a delicate, creamy, and delicious filling. That crunch is everything. Canelé -- These babies sell fast, so make sure to get there when they open. I love the crunchy exterior paired with that soft, custardy inside. Yum, yum, yum! Chocolate Fondant -- Not bad, but not my favorite. I've definitely had better elsewhere. Chocolate Hazelnut Cake -- The flavor was nice, but I found this one just a tad dry. Bottom line: While not everything was a home run, their croissants, canelés, Basque cheesecake, and pastel de nata are absolutely worth coming back for. A hidden gem that delivers big on flavor without the long drive. Definitely worth the visit!

The workers and the owner were all very kind and welcoming. I got there a little after they opened in the morning. As for the food, I ordered the kimchi fried rice along with the chicken and croffle. The fried chicken tasted a bit interesting. I'm not sure if the frying temperature was off or if it had something to do with the condition of the oil, but the texture of the breading wasn't quite right. I used to work at a fried chicken shop in Korea, so it was a texture I recognized--the coating was fully cooked and wasn't necessarily soggy, but there was no real crunch. Instead of being crispy, the breading was soft and kind of gave way when you bit into it. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue eating it. I'd give the chicken a 2/5. As for the kimchi fried rice, I liked the addition of cilantro and beets, which gave it a refreshing touch. My only issue was that the kimchi itself was way too sour for kimchi fried rice. I don't mind fermented or sour kimchi, but in this case, the sourness overpowered the rest of the dish. Overall, the cafe itself is cute and the people working there were genuinely very kind. I just wish the food had been a little better, especially the fried chicken. Will be back next time to try out the coffee!! It is a cafe after all.
