A solid boba & mochidonut spot. The drink selection is interesting (less classic flavors and more combo/specialty flavors) but I was pleased enough with the quality of my house milk tea. But, I think the mochidonuts are what really sets this place apart--the texture of the donut is one of best I've had! Basically, I'd come here just for the mochidonuts.

Delicious drinks and mochi donuts! I ordered through SnackPass and got a discount on my order. I was surprised by the quality of the drinks and how delicious the donut was. I came with my husband so we got a couple of drinks. I had the Ube Milk with Mochi Topping. I had it with 70% sugar and that was perfect for me. It wasn't too sweet. I could taste the ube/sweet potato. The mochi cream was delicious! My husband has the Strawberry Mochi Smoothie, which is also really good. It has sweet strawberry syrup and blended milk and strawberries. It was sweeter than mine but the flavor was just right for the drink. We also had the strawberry mochi donut. It was chewy fluffy and delicious! Overall, this might be one of my favorite places to have mochi drinks or donuts. I've tried many places, and the quality of the drinks and donuts is good.

So I want to note I got my box of donuts through too good to go, which gives discounts on surprise boxes of day old pastries, etc. however, the donuts were still really good! My box came with red velvet, black sesame and strawberry. Even a day old the donuts were chewy and delicious. Obviously they would be better fresh and hot but I'm not mad about it.

Berkeley finally got drinkable mochi and donuts in Southside! Store was well staffed and clean. The mochi donuts are made fresh and the ube and matcha flavors were spot on! Tip: order on snackpass for a free mochi donut with a drink purchase or 15% off your first order.

Although there are a plethora of boba places around UC Berkeley, it's nice to have a new mochi donut shop nearby. They're running different promotions right now through Snackpass (20% off for students, 15% off first orders, or a free mochi donut with the purchase of a drink) Matcha donut wasn't too sweet (just how I like it) and the perfect amount of chewy. A few cracks in the glaze but nobody's perfect. To drink I got the Ube milk with drinkable mochi with less sugar which is basically milk with sweet ube paste on the side of the cup with a runny mochi that can come up a boba straw. Still on the sweeter side but probably because of the presweetened ube paste. They have 2 people running the front so far, but the staff were friendly and I'm sure they will be able to keep up when the students return. Decorations and neon signs aren't fully up yet, but they still have more seating than most non-cafe places nearby. I'll be back!

Ordered a matcha strawberry mochi donut here. A decent mochi donut with a satisfying chew. I enjoyed the strawberry powder sprinkled on top and would have liked a bit more. I personally enjoy a stronger matcha flavor but donut was enjoyable!

This is a cute small area to chill or grab a drink on the go. The staff are friendly. We got to try a mange smoothie sample. It's actually pretty good considering I don't care for mango. I wanted to finish it all if I wasn't so full from lunch. We also got a taro smoothie sample. It essentially what you'd expect. We got mochi donuts. These were also pretty good. I'm not really a fan but maybe I've just had bad versions in the past. These were warm and fresh. Real tasty.

A good spot just for a quick snack/to satiate a sweet tooth. I got a box of three donuts including three flavors: black sesame, strawberry, and cookies and creme. The first was my favorite with good, rich, black sesame flavor. The strawberry tasted a bit artificial and the cookies and creme unfortunately, only had a slight cookies and creme flavor. That being said, the donuts were not too sweet and had a nice and chewy texture. Curious to try their boba offerings, but they do look a bit sweet -- just based on appearance alone.

Mochiholic is opened in Berkeley!!! I'm so excited to see my favorite mochi donut and boba store I have always visited the Pleasanton location but when I saw they have another location, I just have to come check it out. The location is great and loves the vibe it adds to the college town. You can never go wrong with the strawberry, cinnamon, etc the basic flavors and the seasonal flavors are great addition to try too! Here's a picture of my boba tea as I already devoured my yummy mochi donut. Their drinks are hand crafted. Come try it out for yourself.

    A dozen delicious donuts

Stopped by while I was in the area and bought a few donuts to take home to my daughter. She loved them and the next time I was in Berkeley, I bought a dozen. They have a very nice flavor and are very moist I didn't order a Boba, but I saw that they sold them so the next time I am in town I will try one Definitely come here if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Got a mystery "Too good to go" bag and ended up with a strawberry milkshake and 6 mochi donuts for a total of $6! Amazing deal. Oreo was my favorite and chocolate was good too. However, ube frosting was quite wet and hadn't hardened on top of the donut yet. Would come again

Oreo Mochi Donut and Brown Sugar Boba

Finally, somewhere actually worth the price in Berkeley! I got the Oreo Mochi Donut and Less Sweet Brown Sugar Boba. Absolutely delicious, and not overpoweringly sweet! Also, with the deal, it was only $6ish. Easily worth it, given how everywhere else in the area is a scam (and not to mention the high tax rate). Place was well staffed and I got my order very quickly, despite them making it from scratch. The inside was very cozy and modern with fluffy chairs and very clean. Would recommend.

They chose the cutest panda bear donuts as the decorated donuts, and it was such a fun breakfast vibe full of all the whimsy. There is truly something special about the discovery of breakfast croissants at spots that don't typically market them. (See pic) but the croissant was hearty and layered high with gooey cheese and warm egg. The croissant was warm, buttery, and it seemed like potentially put in a press. Chefs kiss, no notes. I noticed you could add meat and/or avocado, but it was perfect paired down. All in all, a food delivery gone right! Hard to come by these days, and my first time ever executing a delivery order before 7am haha. Thank you for adding to a truly special day, can't wait to visit soon!

The apple fritter was crispy with a nice glaze on top and delicious chunks of caramelized apple inside. This donut was extremely sweet, but honestly it's exactly what we needed! I normally go for apple cider donuts, so this was a great alternative. It's a good place to go when friends are visiting!

A GLAZED BACK TO WINCHELL'S…read more Growing up as a kid in the 1980s my family and me would go to Winchell's on Sundays after Mass. The only donut I really like at Winchell's was the glazed as it had the lightly coated frosting yet the donut was not dense inside. Eventually Winchell's in the 1990s were later phased out by Krispy Kreme. I like Krispy Kreme because of the glazed also, but the sugar frosting can be too much. There are a lot of mom-and-pop donut shops that sell glazed raised donuts. However the glazed raised donuts at those shops tend to be dense inside. I like my glazed raised donuts with the balance between the ones I ate at Winchell's and Krispy Kreme. When I was a student at California I liked going to Kin Pin Donuts because of the butter milk bar. I came here to King Pin Donuts today as tomorrow is National Glazed Donut Day. The glazed I ordered had a lightly coated sugar frosting, yet the donut wasn't dense inside. If a glazed donut is dense I cannot order another one. I would equate this to a pizza if the crust is dense I can only eat one slice. At Kin Pin Donuts since I didn't feel bloated after eating the glazed raised donut I ordered another raised donut but this time with a chocolate frosting. What I really liked about the raised donuts at King Pin Donuts are the crispy outside. At King Pin Donuts for the raised donuts there are three textures: sweet frosting, fluffy inside, and crispy outside. How do you know if donuts at a donut shop are good? Just order a glazed or chocolate raised donuts to taste to find out if they're not dense. If a donut shop cannot bake a basic donut like raised donut, then most likely the rest of the donuts are not that good. If you are unsure what donuts to order at Kin Pin Donuts just order a raised donut.

I also ended up taking my sister so she could see what vegan food is about. 1. My sister had the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was an absolute texture nightmare, the coconut rice was gross and mushy, the tofu was completely bland, the random spicy curry sauce was unblended & completely overpowered everything. Just really one of the worst burritos I've had in my life. She couldn't get past two bites before throwing it out. I also bit it, and I agree with everything my sister said. 2. I got the tempeh reuben sandwich and it was equally bad with bland soggy fries. It was edible and I finished half of the sandwich with a ton of hot sauce but I threw out the other half. I legitimately could not finish it. I think king oyster mushrooms would be a better substitute for the "bacon". 3. The donuts are AMAZING & deserve to stand alone. The lemon one was absolutely incredible. If I would've only purchased the donuts I would've given Donut farm 5 stars. There's a price range from $3.00, $3.50, $4.00, and $4.50. I think they're reasonable prices for how good they were. The only one that was okay was the chocolate coconut. In conclusion, the food needs a lot of work. I know this is a small business, but please taste the food that comes out . The sandwich was $18 and the burrito was $16. I never complain about the prices from small business owners because I love to support but it was expensive for the quality of food I received. The bakery itself seems to mainly be a takeout spot, with minimal indoor seating which felt pretty inconvenient given the limited space for customers, however it did seem to serve more of a purpose as a waiting area anyways. The structure of the bakery leaves a bit to be desired as well, as we found the glass display cases as the only form of menu, so being in the front of the line while still deciding what to order caused some unnecessary anxiety. Regardless of those nitpicks, the baked goods themselves were pretty good! Service was instant, and all of the treats looked delicious--it was hard to choose what we wanted! Our favorites were the Thai Tea and Ube Coconut Mochi Donuts. Both had really strong flavors--the Ube in particular was very clear in comparison to most other Ube desserts in my experience. The textures of the mochi donuts were really well done too, with soft exteriors and chewy, glutinous interiors. The same can be said about the Mochi Muffins, though with crunchier parts around the edges. We found the contrast of textures to actually work really well! However, the flavors of the Muffins were lacking a bit--the Red Velvet didn't stand out much, with the frosting tasting a bit too sweet, and while the Five Spice had a really interesting flavor, it was also a bit too sweet, drowning out the more unique citrusy flavor. Overall, however, all four of the goods we had were enjoyable eats, and would definitely return some time to try out other flavors!
