The best hometown diner breakfast you can get in Western Montana. I have made it my mission to eat breakfast here at least once a week, if not more. The wait staff is courteous, friendly, and work hard to get you your food as quick as possible. They are usually pretty busy, but they never push you to make up your mind. You get exactly what you order and for a very fair price. My go-to meal is always their biscuits and gravy, the BEST I have ever had. I usually mix in a scrambled egg and cut up sausage patty and I am in nirvana. I have never had a bad meal, the pancakes, waffles, french toast, omelets, or their affordable daily specials. You can't go wrong. I have only eaten their once from lunch and it too was excellent. Never eaten dinner there but can't imagine it would be anything less than top shelf. Don't miss this gem of the Bitterroot when you are in town. Worse experience I have ever had. Sat our party of 6 as the sign said in the only area we could find with big enough tables. Was told rudely by waitress that we needed to sit on the other side and walked away. She did not offer to go see if anything was open just demanded we move as she said the tables we sat at we're reserved for big parties. I would think a party of 6 would be considered a large group. Never the less we packed up the three kids and 3 adults and made our way through the packed restaurant just to find NO open table anywhere. So we turned around and trekked back through the packed restaurant with high chairs and all. Walked pass the rude waitress who's name was KELLY that told us to move and i said there are no open table can we please just go sit back where we were. She said I guess so. NOT SURE WHERE SHE EXPECTED US TO SIT?? we made the decision to walk out. She in a snotty voice told us to have a good day as we walked out. When we responded for her to try and have a good one too she then called us F'n B's. We had had enough at that point went back in to confront the situation as it was beyond enough to say it in front of our kids. When we asked her for the manager she told us she wasn't in and walked away. We proceeded to call her back to get information and yelling from across the room "I don't have time to deal with you". Just about the worst and rudest service I've ever had. I mean how hard is it for someone to be polite? We walked in looking for a booth to sit in and the waitress was cleaning a booth and when we asked if we could wait for a booth she turned to us and said " I don't care". Why be rude? What's the point? Your whole job and pay relies on you being polite to people. Do better and lose the unnecessary attitude. The service was GREAT! We (4 of us) absolutely loved the waitress, Rachel! She has a wonderful sense of humor, too. The food was wonderful (I had one of my favorites, eggs benedict; the eggs were cooked to perfection and there was plenty of Hollandaise sauce.) I started coming to the Coffee Cup 15 years ago, not long after I moved here outa state. It really was a great place! We loved what they called the relish tray!! The ruben burger n fries was my fav, but we ALL found something that was amazing, n always some Pie to go. The last year or so has been terrible, bad service, bad food, and high prices. My husband and I went there again today hoping things had improved. It cost us $30.00 for the 2 of us to have breakfast, n it was terrible. The bisqit's were not edible, the gravy was just ok, the hashbrowns were raw. The only polite person in the place was the lady that took our drink order. We will not go back, and recommend that nobody else waste their time or money at this place read more

I typically love this place. The servers are always sweet and easy going. The portions are large and the cost isn't too high. However the last time I went here (yesterday) I ordered a breakfast burrito. I would guess the burrito is frozen and then when one is ordered they put salsa on the top and zap it in the microwave. She was overwhelmed and she let it show. She literally rolled her eyes at us when we asked for help. The breakfast food was subpar. The waffles looked like toaster waffles and they didn't taste very good. The toast was barely toasted and came out about 10 minutes after our food. The coffee was barely drinkable. This is a typical diner menu but the food quality is far above the average diner.
