I've been following Historic BBQ on Yelp for a couple years and there's not been a 2nd review in six years? I followed Historic on Instagram in hopes they'd announce a day/time/place for me to come chat and brisket. I was a bit hesitant as his web page states that they are official bbq competitors and honestly, I'm not here for the show, I'm here for the flavor and texture. Finally got to talk to Tony(and his dad!) and as I'd expected, they are super friendly and we could talk about bbq for hours. Service was immediate and pickup took maybe two minutes even with me and all my questions. Tony and his dad were incredibly informative in the process and you can see how much they love to make people happy with their bbq. The trailer was parked right off Main St at a local beer house called the Common Beer Company. They mentioned they will be here on the 4th Sunday of every month so I know when and where I can find them. The brisket was absolutely delicious. That day we are brisket for dinner. Last night we used leftovers to make brisket/cheese quesadillas and again. Delicious. The meat is perfectly cooked; faultless bark, juicy and very flavorful. They mentioned as I walked up at around 2p and they had just sold their last few bones of the ribs so plan accordingly. I'll be back, I love supporting a local family.

Pretty cute truck with a nice setup and easy to read menu and ordering instructions. When I arrived there were about 5 customers ahead of me that already ordered their food and was waiting. I went up and after waiting a reasonable couple minutes, one of the two guys stepped off the grill to take our order. He was friendly and quick; we ordered two Philly cheesesteaks and asked about the chocolate chip cookies. He told us they were totally out of the cookies. He pointed out the two deserts on display at the order window and I told him we would try out the carrot cake. Our total was $25 and we added a tip. He advised us it would be about 10 minutes for our order to come out, which we appreciated the estimate. It was about 10-15 minutes when he called us to the pick up window to grab our food. He handed us the two boxes with cheesesteaks in them with some napkins. We asked about our carrot cake and it said they were all out he apologized and gave us two brownies...unfortunately they didn't even look very appetizing. I opened my box up and was immediately disappointed and skeptical--the meat looked overcooked and dry. When I picked it up oil dripped from the bottom of the sub buns and each bite caused oil to drip down my chin it was flavorless, and the overcooked meat was hard and dry. Definitely could improve with more seasoning, less oil and some more mayo. Very disappointing. Hubby agreed and after trying the brownies he said they weren't very good either. Unfortunately, this won't be a food truck we return to.

I ordered the Brisket sandwich with Mango Habanero sauce. My husband ordered the Brisket Beans and I ordered the Slaw as our sides. We both liked the sides. The brisket beans were very flavorful and the slaw had just the right amount of sweetness. Unfortunately, the sandwiches weren't as good. The meat on both sandwiches was dry and fairly tough. They had a good flavor. It was just really dry. And so little sauce was put on the sandwiches that it looked as if none had been put on the my husbands at all. I had very little on mine. So little that there was no discernible flavor from the delicious mango habanero sauce that I taste tested at the truck. With such dry meat - some bbq sauce would've been helpful! Also, when paying $31 for two sandwiches with a side - I expected a better quality. The service was friendly and the music playing was nice. Quicker run down: Waited in line to put an order in, finally got to the front, put in an order for a single Land and Sea BLT slider. It seemed like the perfect little compliment to the bbq plate my GF and I had split, a nice little piece of salmon and fresh high quality bacon. Couldn't ask for more right? After they swipe my card they let me know it'll be about a 20 minute wait. I would have left had they not already taken my money. It wasn't twenty minutes. They lost my ticket, along with the one for the couple in front of me. As I said, I got my food about 35 minutes after I placed my order, after the initial wait. I get it that mistakes happen, but had the couple in front of me not said anything they never would have even noticed, and they offered absolutely nothing to make up for it. A brief "sorry" was all they managed. And I get it, like you'reworking a rally and you're standing in this metal box over a hot stove and it SUCKS. But so does waiting outside that box while you pump out delicious meals and none of it makes it my way because of a mistake. It was a good BLT though.... Small, like very small. Flavorful, rich, and very high quality. I'd order it again, but only while eating something else, or a few days in advance.

Tin Man Grill Review…read more Tacos are among the world's most perfect food. The taco offers a culinary canvas of unlimited possibilities and incredible potential. Tacos, like pizza, can be be good even when they are bad. They can be authentic or creative but they are almost always delicious. Tin Man Grill, a food truck based in Anderson Township, is a revelation. While not authentic, you'll want to head to Tacos Locos in a parking lot in Pleasant Ridge for the best authentic tacos in town, they are unique and delicious. Tin Man Grill is no ordinary food truck. Instead of being housed in something resembling a repurposed UPS truck, Tin Man is operating out of a gorgeous refurbished 1950's era Spartan Manor camper. The shiny metal glistens in the sun, a shiny beacon summoning hungry diners. But this is not just a fancy trailer. As you approach you are tantalized by the unmistakable aroma of smoked meat. It fills the air around the silver trailer upping the anticipation. You see, Tin Man is serving delicious, fresh chicken and pork tacos smoked to perfection in dual Big Green Eggs. The results are stunning as the pulled meats are moist, flavorful, and infused with smoke. The menu is simple, but do not think that will make your decision easy. Grilled Pork Tacos. Pineapple pork tacos. Grilled strawberry chicken taco. Chicken avocado taco. And Sweet. Potato. Taco. Yes, Sweet. Potato. Taco. It's as weird and delicious as it sounds. The smoked meats and tasty potatoes are paired with delicious, fresh, house-made toppings, salsas, veggies, sauces and cheese. Everything on the taco tastes clean, fresh, and serves to add to the flavor of the taco. Despite having strong flavors like pineapple, strawberry, and cilantro the flavor of the smoked meats still stands on its own. It's evident that these recipes were carefully thought out to let every flavor work together and for each one to shine. I did not ask for any substitutions, nor would I recommend any unless of course you do not like a specific ingredient. I cannot stress how fresh and clean everything from Tin Man Grill tastes. It's also worth noting that after eating here I felt great, not like eating a cheap, greasy Taco Bell taco. This is fresh, real food. It's also worth noting that everything is prepared quickly. Often food trucks can take awhile as the foods are freshly prepared, but here the prep was fast and efficient and the result was delicious. Tin Man Grill is doing some interesting, compelling, and delicious things with the taco medium. I'd highly recommend checking them out if you enjoy tacos or just enjoy delicious food made by friendly folks, in a cool camper in a parking lot, office complex or festival near you.

The lady who was working inside the ice cream truck and handing out the ice cream to everyone was not friendly at all. I deal with social anxiety and was recently diagnosed with coronary heart disease, so this was going to be a treat for me that I desperately needed to try and take my mind off of these things. I walked up and told the lady what I wanted, and she became nasty towards me and told me that she was going to watch me "drown" because I was stuttering what I wanted. I repeated again what I wanted and even said the color of the ice cream (two flavors- strawberry (pink)/ chocolate(black)) since she did not seem to understand when I said "strawberry". She was once again nasty and said- "we have strawberry and chocolate, what do you WANT". I again repeated it, and she finally handed it to me. My friend was next to me and witnessed all of this. As soon as she stepped up, my friend said what she wanted, and the lady, still referring to me, said, see you figured it out. I feel that this company needs a course in customer service and how to deal with the public. You never know who has a disability by their appearance or better yet, you never know what that person is dealing with in life. This was supposed be a fun treat, but instead it was anxiety provoking.
