It was delicious. I usually enjoy the salt bread on its own, but this time I tried the salt bread with red bean. The buttery, salty bread paired with the sweet red bean created a really nice balance. The owner always kind and welcoming. I arrived a bit late on this visit, so I didn't order coffee. But next time I'll definitely come earlier to try their new ube latte. read more

I stopped by Coffee Kitchen in Tacoma and was so pleasantly surprised! I ordered their strawberry matcha and honestly, this might be one of the best matcha's I've ever had. Instead of using syrup like most places, they blend it with real strawberry purée, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It's fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The shop has a cozy, inviting vibe, and the owner was super friendly and quick. You can tell they take pride in their drinks and ingredients. If you're a matcha lover (or just love a good strawberry moment), do yourself a favor and try their strawberry matcha. My first time at this strip mall Korean coffee shop was so pleasant. I tried a sweet potato latte with a shot of espresso added along with a custard bun- both were great treats. Final stop for the Lakewood 3.0 road trip was Coffee Kitchen (10/19/24). It was a good sign on the window that they featured Victrola coffee beans. I was so full from lunch that I had to pass on any treats from the eye catching pastry case, display bins, and the speed rack. I stuck with a 16oz mocha. Well crafted and balanced. I also bought a cube of milk bread. A day later, it was sliced and tasty whether toasted or not. CC had a 12oz mocha and a chocolate chip walnut cookie. However, as we sat at one of the last available tables at this popular, lively cafe, her attention was diverted to something an adjacent table was sharing. It was so compelling that she had to order The Mammoth too. I have to admit it was well named. An aside, turns out a nice couple from Olympia also dined at the same earlier lunch spot. They were very gracious, shared their culinary faves, and opinions regarding spots in Everett, Seattle, Federal Way, Lakewood, and Olympia. Coffee Kitchen had a friendly person dealing with the volume of customers. Upbeat vibe. People with laptops. People having convos. People having group meetups. Very lively! Amazing selection of fresh baked goods from Leia Bakery. Had a mocha, but managed to have a full on cafe experience at Coffee Kitchen. This place is a hidden gem in South Tacoma Way, Lakewood, located in commercial complex behind 7-11 store, so it's not easy to see from the main road but the commercial building itself is very large. It's also across the street from Pal-do World and across the other street from Boohan Korean Market. I'm so blown out of water by the quality of breads, pastries, and most importantly, their coffee. All of the breads are baked right in their kitchen by the owner and they're fresh, warm and after trying a few of their bakery items I can tell they use high quality ingredients. They use Victrola Coffee beans from Seattle and I love Victrola, and the coffee is AMAZING. I've tried just about all basic coffees from Americano and different Lattes (both iced and hot) and the consistency and quality is there. See how many times I used the word "quality" already? : ) time to try it for yourself! The two ladies (one lady who takes order and the other lady is a barista) are so kind and they never stress even when there's a rush of customers. Batista knows what she's doing and will make your coffee and matcha drinks aaaand smoothie right. One more plus is that the parking lot is ample and huge. We stopped by Coffee Kitchen about two weeks ago while driving back home, and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. Since we were passing by and totally new to the town and surrounding, we just google/yelp but we are so glad that we picked this one over others. The owner/barista was incredibly kind and welcoming. We both have specific dietary preferences and usually prefer drinks with very low sugar. She took the time to listen carefully and recommended something that would suit our taste. I honestly couldn't believe how perfectly she balanced the drink--it had just the right flavor with minimal sugar, exactly the way we like it. What really stood out was her hospitality. The shop itself was neat, organized, and very clean, which immediately made the experience feel comfortable. When she handed us our coffees, she made sure to check that everything was according to our taste and preference. That personal touch meant a lot. Their **menu also looked very unique**, with some really interesting drink options that you don't usually see at typical coffee places. If we ever drive through that route again, we will absolutely make it a point to stop at **Coffee Kitchen**. I've gone here twice since discovering this absolute gem of a coffee shop. I've gotten the salt bread twice, garlic toast, and basque cheesecake and they were all excellent. Coffee Kitchen is a delightful coffee shop/cafe in Lakewood. I wish I lived closer to it so I could visit more often! It is located on South Tacoma Way in a little retail plaza. There is plenty of free parking here. We went on a Friday morning and it wasn't busy yet. I ordered the Ube latte which was neat because I rarely see that on a menu. My husband ordered a Matcha latte. They also offer a wide variety of food like salads, sandwiches, and waffles. The lady who took our order was nice and she brought the drinks to our table. The best pastries I've had! I was in town visiting family and we stopped by for our morning coffee (Americano is amazingly smooth--Victrola beans!) We also ordered a sweet squash & cream cheese pastry and the salt bread with red bean. Both were so delicious! I especially loved the squash one! I'm from the NJ/NY area and have been to so many good Korean bakeries, but I have never tasted pastries like this. DO NOT wait to check this place out! One of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Tacoma! I love the vibe and aesthetic of this place so much. Their employees are also super friendly. This is also a great place to study as it's not too loud and the music is very chill. It's open until 11pm most nights, making it a great place to stop by for a treat and to chat with friends. They have very good drinks here. My favorite has to be the white peach sparkling ade, and I noticed that they also have many other syrups that you might be able to use in their drinks. The sparkling ade is super refreshing and not overly sweet. Their coffee drinks are also good as well. I really enjoy the food items they have. Their sandwiches are delicious and the bread is crisp just like how I enjoy it. The best sandwhich has to be the turkey and avocado one. There is also cheese, tomatoes, and pesto (which I love!). Visited on a Friday night for coffee ane chit chat as we didnt want to end the night so soon. There were only a few people in here, but it was so quiet and peaceful. Some stayed for a while and some just went in to grab some coffee and talk as well. The ambiance was somewhat quiet with all the talking and soft kpop music playing in the background. I ordered something simple, a White Chocolate Mocha 12 oz for $4.60. You can either have it hot or cold. I chose it hot. They have multiple sizes as well ranging from 8 oz, 12 oz, 16 oz, 18 oz. It tasted perfectly sweet. The right mixture of dark and sweet, melting into my tastebuds. The barista made this in at least 3 minutes. Plus since we were already seated, the barista delivered it to us. Barista was nice, greeted us when we arrived and had no attitude as he spoke to us. Overall, we will come back. I heard their breakfast is delicious so i might decide to visit one of these mornings when I want to eat, drink coffee, and work. read more

Customer service was great and it was empty at noon on a weekday so I easily found a spot to sit. The latte and almond honey toast were amazing. My husband had a chai tea latte and that was phenomenal.. I definitely recommend that. I really wanted to try their waffles, but the waffle maker was broken on the day I visited so maybe another time. Drink prices are fair, but the food prices are a pretty steep in comparison. I've finally found a late night spot for Bingsu!! I live in Kirkland but usually go to Tacoma on late nights when the traffic is over to visit some relatives and this is the place that I will go to every time I am in Tacoma! This place closes at 11pm and it has a very relaxed chill vibe at around 9:30pm and onwards. I would usually arrive here at 9 30pm, get some work done until 10:45pm and leave. I have pretty much ordered all of their menu, but my favorite one would be the coffee and fruit bingsu! The service here is also awesome! The employees are super friendly and pretty much knows me and my go to order every time which is something I really appreciate! 11/10! Parking is also never a problem as there are multiple parking spots and I've never seen it full, but then again, I've only been here at night. read more

First thing... Some places you go to, the wait is long but you don't mind because its worth it. Coffee Kitchen was that place for me. After all there was only 1 person working and it was busy. I was impressed because he didn't seem stress and focus on quality and presentation still. I had a pistachio latte and shared the honey almond toast. Both was amazing. Latte was smooth and creamy and better than Starbucks pistachio. The honey almond toast was huge. And I thought the bread would be too dense because thickness but no, it was perfect. Even the vanilla ice cream was creamy and it all balanced the dessert out. 4/4/23 they should get their replacement waffle maker. Will go back to try that next time. read more
