Absolutely unacceptable. I ordered a simple black coffee and was yelled at by the cashier "What kind of coffee?!" in an aggressive, demeaning tone. There was no attempt at basic courtesy, only hostility. The way I was spoken to made me feel singled out and discriminated against for not being Korean, which is disturbing and not okay. What made it even worse is that this visit was supposed to be a nice moment with my family who are visiting from abroad, and his behavior completely ruined what should have been a positive experience. This wasn't a misunderstanding it was outright rude. The cashier's attitude was as bad as his tattooed eyebrows: loud, abrasive, and impossible to ignore. If you can't treat customers with basic respect, you shouldn't be behind the counter. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I really enjoy having bingsoo and this place didn't disappoint. I've been here before and wanted to take my parents since they've never tried. They really liked it. It's similar to the Filipino halo halo and Hawaiian shave ice! Both of best worlds to make this Korean treat. The ambience is hip and different- saw people having group talks, families, Students working on assignments- which was cool. They have water if you ask, and different foods but mostly friend. T-town has become a Lakewood staple! The vibes are always so relaxed whenever I visit. The bulgogi fries are a must order and portions are great. We were excited to stop in today, as I have been wanting to check T-Town Cafe out and we happened to be in the area. What a cute place! It's very relaxing and much bigger on the inside than you'd think when driving up. We tried the potato corn dog with just cheese (it typically comes with meat and cheese, but you can specify just cheese for an extra $0.50), and 2 Nutella Taiyakis. Wow! Everything was so good. I was blown away by the Taiyaki. Not overly sweet at all. The corn dogs do come with toppings. I thought there was going to be ketchup and mustard, but it appeared to be ketchup and another sauce. T town is a fave! We live about 30 minutes away but still make a point to come here for fresh taiyaki and delicious food. I've also had the black sesame toast and it's amazing. I'm SO glad we came by! We were driving through Tacoma to get lunch nearby and decided we wanted to find somewhere for dessert before getting back on the road again and found this place. We ordered two versions of the soft serve - one with the taiyaki cone (with red bean inside) and the other with hotteok and chocolate sauce. I LOVED IT. The texture of the soft serve is unique and it's so hard for me to find places that don't have a creamy, milky, soft serve - it's hard to explain but it's my favorite texture. The taiyaki and hotteok were also pretty delicious and reminds me of my childhood as these were pretty common snacks. I saw that you could buy just the taiyaki or hotteok if you didn't want the soft serve but the prices were wild to me ($9 for two pieces of hotteok?? Just make it yourself or go to Boo Han or somewhere that makes them street food style). The prices for the soft serve were more reasonable and I think you could get more than one topping without additional charge but I'm not certain. Overall I loved this and would gladly go back again whenever I'm down that way. read more

We liked the custard taiyaki but it wasn't incredibly flavorful. We liked the Nutella taiyaki much better. They had only four filling options for taiyaki. We've had taiyaki at one other place and they had at least 2-3 times more filling options. I sampled the green tea ice cream because I was curious and it was yummy! This place is located across from our favorite Korean restaurant and we have been wanting to try it out for SOOOO LONG and finally stopped by. Casual restaurant with a nice interior. You go to the counter, place your order, and they give you a pager that beeps when your food is ready. Great spot to scratch your snack cravings. They have a Korean theme to the snacks and also serve expresso and boba tea. We came for the ice cream and they have 3 options: Standard ice cream by the scoop 2 - Asian flavored soft serve ice cream 3 SNOWFLAKE ice cream. We came for the snowflake option and got the big bowl to share. They don't have as many flavor or toppings options as I have seen at other spots in bigger cities (like HOUSTON, TX for example) and we went with the mango flavor. It consisted of a vanilla shaved ice cream with a scoop of regular vanilla ice cream on top. Mango and other toppings and we paid extra for some strawberries as well. We really liked it and have already been back another day for another one. Friend got a salad and coffee. The guy at the register seemed new, transaction was a little slow. We were handed a beeper and sat ourselves. The ambiance is casual, several larger tables and several smaller ones and a few in between. It gets kind of loud in here since folks tend to come here to gather and socialize. I personally did not care for the coffee and thought the food prices are kind of high for basically snack foods. Most of what I saw had nice presentation.
