If you are looking for amazing cake for the same price as you would buy a quite less than mediocre cake at Safeway or god forbid Walmart, do not come to this bakery. The largest size cake which feeds 8 or people is about $45, and worth every penny. Do not, do not do not forget to grab some other baked goodies while you are there! Tiny bakery inside Hmart. Has a pretty decent selection of pastries and cakes considering it's in a small corner of an Asian market. My personal favorite is the sweet bread cone with whipped cream. I always buy 2 for myself in a trip. One for the car ride and one for when I get home! I've tried the others like custard filled or peanut butter one, and they're good too but they don't compare to the whipped cream one! One of these days I'll order a cake. I love Asian style cakes. The cake itself is light and airy, not too sweet, as is the light whipped cream frosting. I love the fresh fruit they add on top. read more

The donuts were delicious! Just need a little 15sec reheat and these donuts are nice, warm and so so soft! It'll have you saying Mashigetaaaa! Reminds me of Portuguese donuts, malasada! Yummy! 2 packaged donuts containing two donuts in each bag were $10...a bit pricey honestly. Maybe it's $2 for each donut...still very pricey. I've come here twice now for the fresh fruit and whipped cream cake and both times didn't disappoint. I say this a bunch but what I love about Asian desserts is they are less sweet than American desserts. I despise frosting so I always try to find an Asian bakery in my area because they have tons of whipped cream cakes rather than thick frosting or fondant. They also carry a wide selection of various sweet and savory pastries, sandwiches and breads. We also tried the whipped cream fresh fruit tart which my toddler loved. The crust is a buttery shortbread topped with whipped cream, strawberry, mandarin orange and blueberry. They had 1 employee working and they helped box up my desserts and ring me up. The bakery is located within H Mart. It is against the left side wall as soon as you walk into the front entrance. It was quiet and not too busy both times I went which made it a quick and easy process to grab what I wanted and get out. read more

Every time I get a cake from them it is top tier. This time when I got a cake I also got a loaf of milk bread that they kindly sliced for me. My gawd the bread was delicious! I used it to make little tea sandwiches for a party. People thought I ordered the sandwiches from somewhere. The staff is friendly with a great sense of humor. They also gave me a free thing that kind of looked like a danish/croissant that was filled with cream cheese and topped with peanut powder. That thing was so good, my eyes rolled back into my head. Just as others who made a review, I needed a last minute cake. I got the smaller fruit cake and it was $34. SOOO WORTH IT. I'm not even a fruit person, this cake was for my husband but I loooooved the cake. I was surprised to eat all the fruits. The texture and taste was just amazing. I've always wanted to order a cake from this bakery. And I finally did to celebrate me and my boyfriend's 4 year anniversary! We ordered an 8 inch fruit cake with only strawberries, and it was $40. It was definitely worth the money and it's exactly what I wanted! The cake was very special and we loved it! I recommend this bakery for anyone looking for a good fresh fruit cake with light, fluffy whip cream frosting (I personally don't like heavy cream cheese frosting or buttercream frosting). Love this little bakery located inside of the South Tacoma Hmart. The cream cheese rolls and cinnamon sugar twist donuts are my favorites. My wife really likes their red or white bean bread pastry. The lady working the counter is always nice. Will try out one of their cakes the next time a birthday comes up. Prices are a little cheaper than some of the other Korean bakeries in the area. read more

Anytime I'm in Hmart, I always have to stop here. I adore macarons and they have vanilla ones. It's not the best but I think they balance the flavor better than Boulangerie down the road. My boyfriend loves the creme filled and bavarian filled bread but we recently tried these thin almonds cookies we both thoroughly enjoyed. They're great in the morning with coffee since it reminded me of a biscotti. The red bean bread is also pretty good. The lady who did my transaction gave me an extra goodie. It was a thick triangle bread with sugar and cinnamon. It reminded me of a churro and although a bit too sweet for my liking, I thought it was good and a sweet gesture on her part. We will continue to support this bakery and recommend if you're in the area. read more

Horrible cake and experience. Purchased cake for birthday and it turned out to be old, not fresh like they stated. Gave upset stomach. Cake was very dry and felt like when you leave something on the counter open for a few days. When we took it back and told owner about it she was very rude and did not want to make it right. Instead she thought it would be convincing if she ate some herself. So she did and said "This is fresh. I cannot not refund or give you new cake, sorry." We were very surprised. She is willing to risk $40, not realizing that by doing so it will have a detrimental impact on future revenue and growth. They like to lure and convince customer that they have excellent quality items and good service. But, only before turning your money over to them. How can you trust a company who will ring your cake up on the till for only 60% of actual price, take full payment from you, and then hesitate to give you receipt. Should have known better! My bakery of choice has always been Boulangerie Bakery, but since planning was late i gave these guys a try. Huge mistake! read more

Okay... I would like to comment on another thing. Macarons here are so simple and as extensive as some places at all. In fact the whole collection consists of only vanilla flavor, and yet I'm in love. While Boulangerie at Paldo did a good job at balancing the super sweet meringue outside and the sour fruity meringue butter cream inside, Olive's butter cream has a hint of savory from salt that make the whole meringue butter cream way more divine. Also, Olive's macarons' cookies are way less sweet as well. I would prefer theirs any days over the sickening and chemically sugary taste that is of the other bakery. Oh... and Olive's macarons are cheaper too. read more

First time here! I set out to find sweet red bean doughnuts. I asked the nice woman sitting at the counter and she told me they were sold out. I asked her if I could special order and she said yes. I ordered 1 dozen and picked up the next day. My order was ready on time and the items were all individually packaged nicely. Just try the white bean pastry. Or the green pea/bean. It comes inside an uber-soft, delightfully sweet, impossibly buttery brioche bread.
