Ordered delivery because I needed a pick me up. Can't comment on service or ambiance, but I feel their Vietnamese drinks (namely coffee) are tasty while the tea is just alright. Sample size of one drink each, so take it with a grain of salt. House Green Milk Tea w/ Boba - a very basic green milk tea. Tea was slightly floral, not too sweet, and balanced with the milk. Boba was chewy but lacked flavor. Would probably skip boba here in favor of their other drinks like the einspanners. Black Sesame Einspanner - black sesame cream was smooth and the actual black sesame slowly dropped to the bottom, since grounded sesame will result in physical bits. Slightly sweet but not too much. Similar sweetness with the coffee, a solid ca phe with a perfect amount of condensed milk added to soften the bitterness. The flavors weren't super strong nor too weak but just the right amount. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious and I definitely need to try more of their options. I'm from LA, and this place reminds me a lot of Koreatown. I used to really like it and recommended it to a lot of my friends. The only downside lately is that the staff can be really hit or miss. Some are super friendly and welcoming, but others make you feel like they don't want you there. My friends and I even joke that coming here depends on our luck, hoping we get the friendly staff. I'm surprised I never wrote a review about this place. One Day Cafe is my favorite cafe in Tacoma! I love everything that they have on their menu. I have tried the matcha and sparkling ades and I enjoy both. Their sweet cream matcha drink is my favorite! The matcha flavor is decently strong (which is more than some other places can say) and the sweet cream makes it more creamy. The sparkling ades are very refreshing and I am glad they now come in the larger size only. They do add new drinks on their menu - I recently tried the Korean pear ade and it was so good! Their drinks are sweet if you like sweet drinks. Their croffles are good too! Warm and crispy. I love that they have both sweet and savory options. Their bingsu is also very solid, however most of the condensed milk seems to be at the bottom so the last few bites are extremely sweet. Very ambient cafe. I would say it is good for studying as it tends to be one of the more quieter cafes that I have been to. I love coming here whenever I am in Tacoma :) read more

It was well mixed in & you can taste the brown sugar and not just milk. They did put a lot of ice so next time i'll just have them add less ice. I like One Day but I hope they figure out their matcha supply soon! It's been several months where matcha has been intermittently available, and I'm well aware that there are shortages. Just seems like for such a busy spot, there are alternatives you could use or find a supplier that can meet the demands. 3 out of 5 times, I call ahead to ask if there's matcha and they don't have any so I don't go. That's 60% of visits where the shop could have taken my money haha. I understand holding out for quality matcha so that the drinks don't suck or maybe there's a good relationship with their supplier that they don't want to ruin, and again I understand, but sacrificing 60% of business is a tough trade off! Like I said, I just hope it gets figured out sooner than later. The Dubai chocolate matcha is my favorite out of all the places hopping on the Dubai trend. But when I forget to call ahead and they're out of matcha, I get the Sunrise Americano with sparkling water. Still delicious! read more

I've been wanting to try One Day Cafe for a while now, but every time I'm in Lakewood it's for quick errands and then I forget. However, today I made a point to make stopping by my first task - and I'm glad I finally did! When you walk in you immediately notice the earthy/minimalistic decor. Next, you have the menu and the dessert case with freshly made cheesecakes. Their menu includes an assortment of drinks such as signature einspanners, coffee, boba and ceremonial grade matcha beverages. They also have freshly made to order croffles (both sweet and savory options) and shaved iced desserts. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha and it tasted amazing. I originally asked for oat milk but was informed they use non dairy milk for all their beverages, which was a bonus. The matcha was smooth, grassy and flavorful (no sweetness whatsoever!), when you mixed the drink (strawberry layer at the bottom) all together, the natural sweetness of the strawberry gave the drink a perfectly balanced and natural sweetness. I really appreciate that the matcha itself had no added sweetness like other coffee or matcha places have, takes away from the flavor and point of matcha. My sister ordered the Banana Split Einspanner Latte and said it tasted exactly like a banana split in liquid form. No syrups were added to artificially enhance the flavor so she was pleasantly surprised of the flavor and the texture of the foam. Overall, I'm glad we finally stopped by and will definitely be back soon to try other drinks and dessert options! read more

When you walk in there is a full menu to the right. So many yummy things to choose from. Cashier was great. I asked for literally 5 boba, I always ask that, and never has someone fulfilled my request. But the cashier immediately did it for me. My order came out immediately. TLDR; I will not be supporting anymore due to continual disrespect from staff over a period of months. Food is great, drinks are mediocre (as of recent) but, if you don't care about customer experience, this place is still enjoyable!! ------ I've been going here since they've opened (when they didn't even have bingsoo on the menu) and loved their food and drinks. They've been enjoyable and I've recommended this place to all my friends, thus putting them on. However, my experience in the last few months has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I used to come in during the school quarter and study but, stopped after some uncomfortable experiences. Spring 2025, I notice the staff would frequently start walking past where I sit and I had made eye contact with them on multiple occasions, with one female staff member in particular. I ignored it. The staff started being really brief with me, cutting me off at times, different from their usual great customer service. I ignored it. One day, I noticed the same female staff walk to the back and loudly start speaking to another staff member. Another staff member comes out from the back, look directly at me, and laughed before walking to the back, resuming their conversation. I immediately left as I was so uncomfortable. Today, I go back for the first time in months and I was treated the same. I was rung up wrong and waited in line to heat the right order. Once I'm at the register, standing two feet in front of it, the same female staff member, who was in the lobby turning in the menu screens, walked right in front of me to get back to the bar. I had to back up so I wouldn't touch her. All while she blankly ignored me. I came in with a group of 8 total and understand it can be frustrating with large groups (I'm a Starbucks barista so I've ever empathetic). However, they made 5/8 of our drinks wrong and only called out 3 of our orders. We had to stare at the counter to check and see if our drink was ready. Each time, many of my friends met with attitude from the staff. One of my friend's asked for a remake of their drink and one staff member said "yes". They got to the register and another staff member said "no" and explained that their coffee grinder had broke, hence why it tasted weird, didn't offer a remake, and told them to drink it. I felt bad that my friends had an experience like that. I don't want to support a company that treats my friends like that. As most of us were black, biracial, and southeast Asian, I would hate to think that this shaped our experience. However, I've noticed that they don't interact with other customers the same way. But!! Matchas, ades, and pastries are bomb. read more

One Day Cafe was our second stop during our road trip Shoreline to Lakewood (8/3/24). The interior is very clean and spacious. The cafe is also well staffed to deal with onsite and takeout orders. Shared parking lot with many businesses and an Asian grocery store. CC selected a black sesame einspanner. Definitely looked tasty! I decided to go big before heading back north, lol. I had the Nutella Oreo Croffle ($9.50). Nicely plated. Managed to coax CC to also give it a try. Nutella is plated first, then the on-point croffle, topped with a creamy scoop of Oreo ice cream, and of course, an Oreo cookie. Surprisingly, not cloying sweet, it was a delicious treat!
