This place is sooo adorable! The atmosphere both inside and outside is AMAZING! Clean, but not stark. The girls who work there are amazing, and the FOOD! Also, does this have any relation to the famous Cafe Rani? I got the Pesto Crusted chicken without tomatoes, and it was so delicious. The bread was decadent, and perfectly toasty and crisp, yet warm and soft. The chicken was fabulous, and the pesto wasn't too garlicky (this is a major problem in most restaurants). The portions were huge! And the sides are great. The little salad was sooo good. And the potato salad was amazing! It had swiss cheese in it (I think). This is our go to Sunday Breakfast place. Great casual atmosphere (recently updated) with a very nice menu. Every thing is made to order. Healthy and vegetarian options available. Favorite is the veggie egg white omelet. It is large and full of flavor. read more

This is by far my favorite little café for breakfast. I normally get the 3-egg omelette with bacon. I love Sundays because you also get some hash browns as well. We've also gotten the biscuit sandwich which was slightly under in the middle but not still tasty. Their coffee is SO good. We had a disappointing dining experience at Coffee Rani, Mandeville the other evening. Disappointing not because of the food (it's always good) or the service (always friendly and attentive) but because of its new business practices. Raising prices and not posting those prices for Daily Specials and other selections is deceitful, if not downright sleezy, especially to customers that must queue up, oftentimes in long lines, to order food. Same for the wine: Splits are a nice option; even more preferable to wine-by-the-glass, but not when the purpose is to disguise outrageous prices for average quality selections, once again, unaccompanied by posted prices. If the owners of Coffee Rani hope to keep their loyal following they should re-consider these new business practices. Meanwhile we will be out sampling the overwhelming number of other dining options in the area. read more

Food is awesome and environment is nice....the staff come across as rude and awkward. Had a barista bring my my cappuccino full of coffee grounds and told me "I made it with extra love" I guess that made it ok... I didn't say anything but, I left without drinking it, money wasted. read more

My wife and I own Blue Willow Bed and Breakfast located about 5 blocks from Coffee Rani and our guests love this restaurant. This family owned business has several restaurants in the mix and they have developed a formula for consistent good food and service. Coffee Rani has a kind of "California feel" both in decor and menu. A delightful menu selection and a Sunday brunch that is most often accompanied by live music. We walked in and stood @ the counter while the crew just stood there talking amongst each other. After 3-4 minutes, one of them finally decided to address us. The paper tablecloth is dirty. My glass was very dirty. I told the worker and she pored the water from the dirty glass into another glass. I had to ask her for clean water in a clean glass. She was actually offended by this. When I thanked her, she just turned around. There are 3 flies flying around us as I type. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla. The salad is dry and old (old lettuce & carrots from the bagged salad @ the grocery store). The shrimp is not fresh and smells horribly. My son ordered the crawfish monica. It contains only 8 small crawfish. I will NEVER eat here again. read more

I really like this place. A great place for a quick breakfast, or lunch. Can get a bit busy at times, but that is no big problem. Parking can be an issue at times, but there are "Ox Lots" (parking lots) near the restaurant. Never had a bad meal here, and I recommend Coffee Rani with no reservations. read more

LOVE this place! I come here with my family all the time. Consistently great food and friendly service. Their drink choices are really great: lots of varieties of iced teas to chose from and coffee drinks. Their iced coffee is the best! They also have a dessert case by the register. Loaded with lots of different pastries, cakes, cookies, etc from a local bakery. i've eaten lots of things from the menu and I've enjoyed all of them. The salads are huge, really fresh and delicious. The sandwiches come with choice of chips or potato salad. Both are great...but the potato salad is super yummy...and they add a pickled okra to your plate..which I love! They have daily specials and soups to chose from. I recently had a sweet potato soup that was excellent. The kids menu is good too. I've even asked for just a side of chopped turkey and grapes for my toddler and they were happy to do that. They also now have a food truck. I believe it comes to the Covington Farmer's Market at least once a month. If you're ever in downtown Covington you should check it out! read more

This is my go to place. I have never been disappointed. Food is consistently good and ALWAYS fresh. Alot of the food is made in house with quality ingredients and it's the reason people keep coming back. My biggest pet peeve with alot of restaurants is the lack in food prep and laziness in the kitchen, BUT THIS PLACE DOES IT RIGHT! The staff is always great and helpful. The sandwiches are unique, full of flavor and never greasy or dry. My fav items are the Odyssey Chicken Sandwich, Veggie-filled Roasted Sweet Potato and the Caribe salad. My husband loves the burger. It's always cooked right. My kids love the grilled cheese. We always compare new lunch spots to Coffee Rani and usually Coffee Rani wins. The only negative thing I have to say is that the desserts are way overpriced. read more

I would give this locating a 5 star because of the food and atmosphere. The staff really bummed us out both times my husband and I came here. We felt like they were doing us a favor by taking our orders. This restaurant has a much nicer staff in mandeville and the New Orleans staff was also much better. The last two times were our last at this location. Girls....remember your customers want to feel as if you actually enjoy your jobs. And don't sweep around tables at 7:30. The food is so good but it is pretty expensive and the service from the front counter is not ideal. The place is always packed and with that in mind the kitchen does get food out pretty quickly. This is not the place to be "waited on", so go there understanding that you order at the counter and will only get a refill if you go back to counter. Really the only complaint I have with this place is the attitudes of the people working front of the house. They have always acted like it's a burden to take your order or for you to stand in line. Sorry but there is nowhere else for your guests to stand. If you try to pay for separate orders, it blows their minds and they will more or less tell you how inconvenient it is. If it is troublesome for your wait staff to separate orders then make it a policy to not separate checks. They will roll their eyes and very loudly complain to their coworkers about you if you are getting on their nerves. They are very very rude!!!! read more
