I wasn't planning on reviews while on my vacation, but Hubs asked for this one. While there are several places in Cape May to get a Lobster Roll, we chose Cape May Fish Market because it had lots of seating indoors & out. It was quite chilly while we visited Cape May so we really wanted to sit inside. First, the positive: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean and the staff is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Lobster Roll is delicious and the Shrimp Cesar Salad tasted good, but this is also where it goes bad. It is a huge salad and only had 3 shrimp. The cost of the salad is the same as the Lobster Roll. There is no way a salad should cost 26.99 and only have 3 shrimp. A pound of shrimp market value is approximately $25.99 depending on size & location. When it was expressed to our server, she quoted market price increases and that we could order more shrimp at an upcharge. If market price for shrimp is that bad, take it off the menu or offer alternatives like adding chicken that won't result in an upcharge or advise your customers upon ordering that they'd only get 3 shrimp. Hubs probably would have ordered something else. It's Cape May Fish Market so they should be upfront about their seafood. I didn't really care for the fact that we asked about it and were brushed off. While we'll definitely return to Cape May, we may not return here. . read more

This was actually my second time coming here and I just wasn't wowed by the food, unfortunately. It was all decent just not great and for how good it was I thought it was a bit overpriced. Went to this seafood spot ready to live my best New England fantasy, bib and all. Naturally, I ordered the lobster roll, expecting a life-changing, ocean-whispering experience. We went there on a Saturday night around 7pm and we were seated right away, they do have indoor and patio seating. I have been going to this place for years. I think it's time to find a new fish spot. New England clam chowder wasn't as good as it once was but it's really not the food. The service is always awesome. They have some of the nicest servers around. It's the prices $29 for a shrimp roll ya gotta be kidding me. Look at their menu before you go. I've had two bad experiences in a row. Last time the service was horrific. With our specials we were each supposed to have a salad and bread with it. Half way into the meal we realize it never came, so we asked the server. She replied "Oh you want them?" Then she almost never came back; no refills and we walked out way after they closed because she took 40 minutes to come back for the check. Tonight we walked in to be seated at 8:08 and are told they closed "10 minutes ago." I check online and say Google shows 9pm, is that wrong? The employee says no it's 9pm but they close early if it's not busy. Meanwhile there are 4 tables I can see with customers. She then suggested Fin because it's the same owner. Great attentive and friendly staff sat us immediately in a crowded restaurant. Delicious clam appetizer and chowder were brought out almost immediately. Came here for dinner the other night and it didn't disappoint. The menu had a nice amount of things to choose from. I had the lobster roll which came with coleslaw and fries and my husband had the crab cake grilled cheese. The lobster was fresh and wasn't chewy. One of the best lobster rolls I ever had. The tartar sauce was so so so good. It had chunks of pickles! Cold Combo ($27.99) with smoked salmon, three clams on the half, two jumbo shrimp, five crab claws, and a monster pile of crab-meat. This was excellent! Caesar Salad ...($13.99) Romaine lettuce and croutons dressed with Parmesan cheese with added Blackened Salmon for $9.99.
