It is expensive to swim at $15 but a great center, water temp is comfortable and hours are convenient.

Tons of high school kids and classes all day long. Pool needs chlorine badly and the water temperature is not great for training.

They've got a cold plunge, a killer gym to sneak in a workout, and some really fun packages--VIP includes all-you-can-eat pizza (surprisingly delicious ), garlic knots, candy, and snacks. The water obstacle course is a riot--falling in front of everyone only adds to the fun . Seriously, such a fun way to hang out, get moving, and enjoy a little playful chaos with the beach vibes in the background. Highly recommend if you're ready to laugh, splash, and maybe take a few epic dives.

We love the pool, obstacle course, and amenities (showers, etc). We arrive at opening and always find parking. Here's why I'm giving 3 stars and may not renew my pass for next year. The fun you have is dependent on who is on staff that day. I don't know what happened between this year and last, but this year is not great. Some lifeguards and people at the desk are so rude. On one hand, I'm sympathetic because I know these jobs can be seasonal and you have to train new people, deal with customers, safety, etc, etc. But they create so much confusion and then they're rude when you follow the rule someone else on staff gave you. Then you tell them another person told you to do that and they act like you pulled this info out of your own butt. Last time I was there, I was going back and forth from the pool to the desk because the lifeguard and desk staff couldn't agree on whether my kids needed wristbands. Like I said, if this is just confusion between newer staff, that's fine, I feel for you. But they were both SO rude about it and were getting annoyed with me ‍ This is just the recent example, but it's now probably half our visits that there's some weird triangulation between me and two staff members telling me different things. There are some people who work here that are awesome and friendly. When they do swim tests, they speak clearly to the kids and give instructions/expectations clearly. They're straightforward and friendly when we check in. I think he might be a manager (he wears the pit vipers and has facial hair), he's super friendly although I don't see him that much any more. Sorry I don't know their names, but always relieved when they're there (and coincidentally they all seem to be on the same page with the rules/expectations ).

It's funny how something as simple as a warm smile and a friendly hello from the staff at the front desk can mean so much to someone, but it really did for me. The women who work in Childwatch are amazing and so kind to my kids. The staff upstairs is always patient with me every time I forget which locker I put my stuff in, which is more often than I'd like to admit. I've also never once felt uncomfortable asking someone to teach me how to use a piece of equipment I've never used before. I'm unfortunately a very sweaty woman, so the fact that they keep disinfectant, towels, and paper towels easily accessible throughout the gym has genuinely made me feel less self-conscious about how much I sweat while working out. The only improvement I can think of is that the man working in the café has the personality of a filing cabinet, but honestly, maybe every gym needs one emotionally neutral employee so the rest of us don't get too spoiled by how friendly everyone else is. We're really grateful for this place.

Not only, but I can't count how many awesome evenings I've spent there getting a great workout in the pool, then just vegging out in the hot tub while watching the sunset or admiring view of the canyon... Truly a special place to swim. The layout consists of a main building where you have to register to get in (either using your student ID or buying a membership). The main building is also where you will find a rock wall climbing center (i've never been but I know every once in a while they have days where students climb free) as well as your showers/locker rooms, and a great little gym. When i lived on this campus i used to prefer the Canyone View Gym to RIMAC simply because nobody seemed to use it, and I never had to wait on anyone to do my workout. Literally straddling the pool building are two olympic sized pools and the legendary hot tub. The pools are heated, with lights that turn on when needed, as well as 2 diving boards on the east pool. The crowd that goes here is good at respecting the "slow on the left, fast on the right" lane rule, and when it gets a little crowded people are very respectful when sharing lanes. In fact, if you are super slow like me, its totally fine to just go to the shallow end and work on your swimming for a while - thats what i did for a month or so and improved greatly! Nobody every gave me even the slightest of negative looks. Finally, I cannot stress how importantly awesome the hot tub is. Its large (you could probably fit 15 people in there), clean, HOT, and positioned perfectly so that you can go and relax after any sort of work out. In my experienced opinion, (and that of many others) this is THE best aquatic facility and THE best hot tub in all of La Jolla, possibly all of San Diego. Right now with absolutely no affiliation to UCSD you'd have to pay 120$/3 months, and an alumni pays $100/qtr. Its really not that bad - I strongly recommend this as your next workout choice.

It's a fine pool. Just fine…read more I've been on the lookout for a nice lap swim pool and have been making my way to all the local city pools, starting with Clairemont. It's a very no-frills spot: small locker room, showers, very minimal seating on the pool deck, and a dedicated 1-3 lanes for lap swim. For $4 for ~2 hours, it's a pretty darn good deal. I will say that the pool isn't in the best condition. You can tell there's been a lot of wear and tear. I also don't love that there are open deep gutters along the permitter, making it difficult to get in/out of the pool. Overall, not a bad pool, but not a great pool. I'm personally looking for a more elevated pool experience

I'm a Girl Scout troop leader, and our troop had planned to go swimming on Saturday 8/19 from 11:00…read moream to 1:00 pm. I had stopped by the desk in person to ask someone about this about a month prior. They said that for a group of our size, we should make a reservation. I asked the cost and determined it was too expensive for our troop. I asked if we could just all show up at the same time and pay the admission fee. They said that was fine but that they would appreciate a heads up. So I gave the date and time and told them I'd call again when I had a headcount. I called on 8/11 with a headcount. No one picked up, so I left a message with my name and phone number. I called again on 8/17 and talked to someone. I gave my name and number, a brief run-down of our situation, the date and time we intended to come and a headcount of around 25. The woman was very kind and told me they would have no trouble accommodating our group. I asked if it would be possible for our girls to use the diving board and she said they should have enough lifeguards to supervise that. I arrived 15 minutes early on Saturday 8/19 to find out there was a swim meet going on! They weren't even open to the public at the time I asked about! I called the front desk from my car (because I couldn't find a parking spot) and the person said, "Yeah, so we can't accommodate your group today because we have a swim meet." I was livid! Here I was with 2 little girls in my backseat and 20 other people arriving in 10 minutes, and we had nowhere to swim. The person I talked to kept giving excuses and passing the blame to other people. "We didn't have your number." (Yes you did. I left a message.) "Oh, well, we never got that message." I eventually talked to a manager. I explained the situation. He said that I should have asked to talk to a manager. (I DID talk to a manger when I stopped by the front desk in person.) "Oh, that was probably the other manager. He didn't tell me about it. For a group your size, you really need to make a reservation." (I already explained that our troop couldn't afford the reservation fee. And you could have told us previously that you wouldn't be able to accommodate us without a reservation, rather than misleading us to believe that our troop could go swimming today.) I asked if our group could swim after the swim meet. "No, because we only have 1 lifeguard on duty today. So we can't have more than 25 people in the pool at a time. And we're at capacity." I sent a group message to the troop, the beginning of which read, "I am so, so sorry. I don't know how to say this, but Clairemont Community Pool has kind of screwed us over...." And then I explained everything. Nearly everyone in our troop was either arriving at the pool or on their way when I sent this message. Our troop is a pretty amazing group of people and they were all so understanding and patient. I drove around a bit and called other pools and looked for somewhere else we could swim. Our troop did get to swim at the Swanson Memorial Pool for a few hours. I explained the situation to that pool's staff and they were very kind and helpful. Our girls had a great time, so happy ending!

I was having a rough day and, of course, forgot my hair tie, which meant I already knew my workout wouldn't feel quite right. When I walked in to check in, Mikayla greeted me with a smile. I asked if she happened to have a rubber band, to use as a hair tie. She looked around but couldn't find one, and just as I was feeling even more defeated from the day, she offered me her own hair tie. It may seem like a small gesture, but it genuinely meant so much to me in that moment. Mikayla didn't have to offer, but she did with kindness and warmth that completely shifted my mood. Sometimes it's the smallest acts of kindness that make the biggest difference. Thank you, Mikayla, for making my day a little better and reminding me how impactful genuine hospitality can be. Ironic how the front desk employee waved me over and a sales manager tried to upsell mealmost like they had a bet to see if I would buy. hilarious behavior..honestly think my 16 year old cousin is a better and more socially aware salesman Super unprofessional and quite frankly disrespectful. Embarrassing to be quite frank. The employees that have been there for a while are not too bad.
