Although we were very hesitant to make the change to memory care, we couldn't be more delighted with the unit. All the caregivers are excellent and treat us like family. Heck, we feel like family. I have never seen such an array of stimulating and enriching activities that Violet and the exercise and music therapists Diana and Kaiya provide. And it's written all over the residents' faces when they sing and participate. The movement therapist also is excellent and gets everyone moving with great songs! Additionally, the unit brings in special speakers for enrichment learning and other musicians for great song sessions. Overall, we are so pleased with Memory Care and glad we made the move. And from the looks of Dad's face, he is too!

The care givers were wonderful but the management communication is awful. Calls and emails go unanswered and never acknowledged. Even our move out communication wasn't any better. They are now in an adult family home with more staff and less expensive. If you decide to stay there be sure you have some kind of a view and not an unmaintained basement walkway.

My family member has lived there for 5 months and hates it. The food is not good and often served cold, the staff is on burnout from being short staffed, the front desk employees are very young and immature and seem to only care about getting paid. When we looked at this place a few months back it felt warm, the residents seemed happy, and staff seemed caring, that feeling is gone. Seems like corporate policies have taken over with high rental increases, no support to the community, and staff turnover issues. We are in the process of looking for a new place for my loved one.

The caregivers are first rate and have been there for a long time. They are so warm, funny personal, and observant. Each time I visit, I feel great leaving Mom in such caring hands. Aegis of Kirkland appears to be a wonderful place to leave your loved ones. The building is nice…read moreand the rooms are comfortable with ample entertainment for the residents. The entry price is higher than comparable facilities but somewhat justified by the extras. The community (move in) fee is significant and you should ask that it be waved as other facilities will. The feature that earns the low star rating, is their business model. After you have made the considerable commitment to moving in, they start adding service points. In 18 months, with little change in the services needed, they added approximately $3,000 per month in new fees. There was a period where increased care was actually needed, but the added service fees were not removed when the condition improved. If your loved one is cranky and occasionally declines their help, they charge for that also. The result is an upward spiral of charges that are buried in a convoluted spew of numbers on their cryptic billing statements. Don't be fooled by the fancy facade. This is an aggressive wealth transfer machine that delivers no better care than other fine assisted living facilities in the area.
