Drove across town to find out they closed early. If business hours are reduced the should be posted as so. Big deal in my book.

The…read moreshop has become a central hub for me to meet new people and foster a welcoming community for social gaming. I regularly introduce new participants to both games, encouraging a broader and more engaged player base. For Dungeons & Dragons, I often seek guidance from Rubin, a staff member, whose advice has consistently helped me improve my gameplay. In the realm of Magic: The Gathering, particularly Commander format, my playgroup regularly consults Mike for strategic insights and deck optimization. We've even made special trips to the store specifically to play against him. Many of my military-affiliated friends--who make up a notable portion of the local Magic community--appreciate that Mike is also a veteran Marine, creating an added layer of camaraderie and trust. Personally, I've always found Mike to be forthright and exceptionally knowledgeable. He is a key reason why my friends and I attend Commander Night on Tuesdays; his expertise and willingness to help players refine their decks by identifying the most synergistic card choices is invaluable. I also proudly support At Ease Games as a Patreon member, which grants me access to special events. This system helps foster a dedicated and respectful community, and I've had numerous positive experiences because of it. At Ease Games is a cornerstone of the local gaming scene. Should the shop ever close, it would be a genuine loss to the community--a deeply felt absence for many of us who have come to rely on it as a space for connection, growth, and play.

I didn't run out of space to display my new hobby, I simply did not have anything. Display Geek is a great solution. My shipment arrived about 3 days after ordering, and it came in a flat white "Ebay" taped box. Upon opening the box, there was a flat of unassembled cardboard plus 2 other flats which were the shelves. I'm not the savviest person in building stuff but after about 15-20 minutes tinkering with the first of 3 displays, I got the kit built. The 2nd and 3rd one took a fraction of the time. Overall first impression? Not bad. Sure its cardboard, but its a display, not permanent furniture. 3 stacks of the displays comes to about 5-feet tall (I'm 4'9" btw) and fits perfects in a little nook in my bedroom. The FAQ on the website recommended using a certain screw to mount the display, but someone said they used the Command Hooks and it worked just fine. I realized even though I am a "newbie" I quickly ran out of shelf space displaying my Funko Pop toys inside the box. So I mixed it up and took some out, and turned the box sideways, while the ones that are more "rare" or I didn't want out of the box displayed perfectly facing outwards. I could squeeze 35 Funko Pop! boxes per shelf when I mixed the orientation. 3 pack cost about $75 and free shipping. I lucked out and they had a post comic-con discount code, saving me $11. Great solution if you want to display your Pop addiction.

This is the best place for Pokemon in San Diego county, period. They host fantastic events and…read morefoster a great community, they have great inventory while keeping their prices fair (and discouraging scalpers!), and the staff is fantastic with kids (my son is nine, everyone is so welcoming and friendly). We've been coming here for a year and a half now, and it's a pleasure every time. If you're a parent and want to find cards for your kids, this should be your first pick. If you're a grandparent of a Pokémon player and want to find a great a birthday gift, this should be your first pick. If you're an adult player and want to find a strong community, this should be your first pick. And if you're a scalper looking to buy up inventory to make a quick buck, don't come here because they can see you coming from a mile away and you'll waste your time (also, just stop scalping, it's so lame).

The locals tournament organizer/judge was efficient and very friendly especially to kids which I really appreciated. Staff for buying products were also friendly and helpful. For the other comment about the kid selling a card and feeling like the kid got lowballed -- I haven't seen any card shop offer 100% market price or even close for people selling cards to any LCS. 40-60% seems the norm, and IMO reasonable given the risk that the shop is taking, and the convenience for the seller. If you want full market price, go ahead and grade it with someone like PSA and then sell on TCGplayer directly yourself. Bashing the store for a typical practice just seems petty. Value: I thought it was fair. Most Pokemon sealed products were at market price and I think it's worth supporting a small business that's part of the local community, especially with all the time/effort/expense of running events. The hours on Yelp are not accurate. I would follow them on Instagram since they update that regularly with hours and event info. I think it's worth coming here, and I would definitely come back when I'm in the area again.
