My husband was out of town, so I was in a bit of a bind trying to get everything taken care of quickly. I know that Sturdevant primarily handles commercial work and larger HVAC projects, so the fact that they took the time to find us a replacement unit and make sure we were taken care of meant so much. But what really stood out to me was Miles. Miles came out with Justin on a Thursday evening, and these two had the entire replacement installed and working in about an hour. Watching Miles work was honestly impressive. He had an incredible amount of energy, worked nonstop, and clearly takes tremendous pride in what he does. His work ethic was exceptional, and his attitude was just as impressive as his technical ability. He was friendly, professional, incredibly efficient, and genuinely seemed to care about getting the job done right. Miles is the epitome of a hard worker. He is exactly the kind of employee any company would be proud to have representing them. Sturdevant should feel incredibly fortunate to have someone like him on their team, because his attitude, and willingness to help speak volumes about the kind of person he is and the kind of company he represents. And while this review is really about Miles, I would be remiss if I didn't also recognize Sturdevant for going out of their way to help us when they really didn't have to. It is genuinely refreshing to experience that level of kindness and willingness to help these days. It feels like that kind of personal service and simply doing the right thing has become harder and harder to find. What could have been a very stressful situation turned into an experience that reminded me that there are still good people and good companies out there who are willing to step up and help when someone is in a bind. EXPERIENCE: I just so happen to check on the filters on the bigger and older of the two units and was shocked to see that they hadn't been changed in years as they we either sticky, torn or simply obliterated. Luckily they stocked the filters and changed them ASAP during the service. We were told that the unit had some life left in it but was pretty rusted inside of the indoor unit as I heard the tech scraping and prodding away at something. Total bill for the two was a whopping $580 and change. I've never paid that much for the central unit in our other home! Wowzers. SERVICE: They did do a no call/no show on us prior to this visit. I hear the a/c business on Maui is good, especially with the blazing summer we're currently having, so lost business is really no loss to them. Another phone call brought a tech over in a few days, who was friendly and professional. OVERALL: Good work but I'm not sure if we'll use them again due to pricing.

Their suggested next step was to hire someone else to remove tile and look again. Over $1,000 for two visits that ended with no diagnosis, no fix, and a damaged ceiling is not reasonable value for the work performed. The technicians were polite, but the pricing for what was essentially "we couldn't find it" twice in a row is hard to justify. If you're getting a quote from this company, ask exactly what you get for the diagnostic fee and what happens if they don't find the cause -- in our case, the answer was pay again.

I called Terry in the AM, he came by a hour or so later, gave me a great quote (~2000 less) and was able to install it the next day. The whole process was so easy and now I get to sit in my cool living room and write this review. All I have to say is this company is so professional, made sure my condo was cleaned up before they left and I was happy with their service. Their name guarantee AC is definitely what they provided. Checked in again 2 months later after multiple attempts to get the thing loosened and change myself with no luck. I paid over $200 to have him install it and they refused to come loosen it for me as you can see from the messages. The filter is supposed to be changed every 6 months and I notified them when I first tried to change it. I am a single mom and now have to spend additional money to get a filter changed that I paid him to install in the first place. People are disappointing and this is what you get if you hire them.
