THIS IS A MUST READ! My insurance covers eye exam, frames and trifocal lenses. I got the exam, picked out a frame from their store and I asked for trifocal lenses to be put in frames I already owned. Estelle told me they'd put lenses in my frames but my insurance wouldn't cover another frame... AND because my frames were half rimless the lenses had to be "shatterproof glass," which would cost me $90. I told Estelle I've been wearing glasses for more than 50 years including a number of rimless glasses and I was never asked me to pay extra for lenses. I told her I would come back after I spoke with my insurance company. Estelle said she worked at Cohen's for 22 years and the people at insurance companies never knew what they were talking about. "They know insurance, they don't know glasses." I spoke with customer service at my insurance company and was told I could use my frames AND pick out new frames from the store. I asked the insurance company to contact Cohen's. A day or two later I received an email from my insurance company that they spoke with Cohen's and explained that they covered an exam, frames and lenses. On my second trip to Cohen's Estelle says she spoke with my insurance company. So I asked for lenses to be put in my frames and I wanted the frames that I picked out the first time I was there. Estelle told me rimless glasses required polycarbonate lenses, which would cost me $60 extra. I said I'll check with my insurance company about polycarbonate lenses and I'll be back... in the meantime I'll take the Cohen's frames with me. She said I couldn't leave the store with their frames unless they put lenses in them. So I left with nothing. I spoke with my insurance company again. They told me where to go on their website to see their coverage, which I printed out. The copay for polycarbonate lenses is $30. Trip number three to Cohen's. I showed Estelle the print out of my insurance coverage. After keeping me waiting for over half an hour Estelle said they'll give me polycarbonate lenses for $30, but that would only be for single vision lenses and if I wanted trifocal lenses it would cost an extra $90, making my total out of pocket expense $120! So to sum it up, the first price for "shatterproof glass" trifocal lenses was $90. The second price for polycarbonate trifocal lenses was $60. The third price for polycarbonate lenses was $30, but I had to pay an additional $90 for trifocal lenses that were covered by my insurance. If you're going to get glasses from this place you MUST get a printout of your insurance coverage. And don't let anyone at Cohen's tell you it's wrong. Better yet get your glasses somewhere else. read more

My experience was nothing short of OUTSTANDING! the entire staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, especially when it came to the typical confusion with insurance, out of pocket expenses (if any) and very patient with my needs!!! Vanessa was able to accommodate me with every little thing from appointment availability, pricing, inventory and questions that I didn't have to wait to be answered.... I received an eye exam and ordered frames with trifocal lenses. Two days later I received a call from Cohen's. The woman said my insurance only covered bifocal lenses and if I wanted trifocal lenses I would have to pay $55. I said I didn't have $55 so the woman dropped the charge to $45. When I said I didn't have $45 the woman got angry and hung up on me. When my glasses came in they were trifocal lenses... and it didn't cost me anything. Cohen's was trying to charge me $55 for lenses that my insurance covered! I gave one star because there wasn't a LOWER value. read more

The staff & doctor were amazing at this place. Estelle Llanes was extremely helpful and patient with me while I was picking out frames. I tried on multiple frames, and she let me take pictures to send to my daughter since I needed a second opinion. She definitely took her time to make sure that I was completely happy with my choice of frame. I left that store with only great things to say, and I will recommend them to all of my friends! My copay was $20 and these people tried to charge me over $100. To the doctor, everyone is a patient. To the sales staff, everyone is a lamb waiting to be fleeced. They should get NEGATIVE 5 STARS. I'll bet Kathleen L and Crystal C are relatives or former employees. read more

My eye exam was fine. When I tried to pick out frames the woman was so rude I just walked out. I don't like being talked down to. Maybe because I'm a senior she thought she could belittle me. The people at the Department of Motor Vehicles treat me better. read more
