The moment we walked in and said it was out first time the staff greeted us and took time to explain the entire process and even walked over to show us where to find pricing on the taps. Will definitely be back if we are ever in rapid city again.

The ambience is definitely one of the highlights the brewery is located inside a repurposed firehouse, which makes it a really cool and unique space. Overall, we had a good experience. The guy was friendly, and introduced me to a few things I'd never tried, such as coffee kombucha. I'm an amateur brewer, we had a great conversation, and he generously shared a couple tips with me. The kombucha I bought was great, and I regretted not getting more, so I made a detour back there on my next trip through town. This time, though, the woman tending to customers was pretty unfriendly. She acted like my request to try 2 flavors before I bought one was an imposition (last time, I was told that was standard, or I wouldn't have asked). She responded defensively to my (very basic) question about how one of the flavors was brewed, saying she had nothing to do with the production. She messed up my order, but corrected herself before she handed it to me -- then seemed angry with me, as if it was my fault. She was clearly annoyed when I used coins to pay for part of my order, and then shorted me a dollar for my change, which I had to explain the math on 3 times before she fixed it. I am all for supporting local businesses, especially ones that have such a great product. I would've given 5 stars after my first time through. But the woman who helped me the second time made the experience so unpleasant that the next time I'm in Rapid, I'm going to look though the window to check if she's working before I decide to come in. In summary: excellent kombucha, but the customer service can be either great or terrible, depending on who's staffing the front.
