The three stars are for the great beers, with fun names. The you can milk stout anything with a nipple was our fave! It's a cool location, great interior and music. The small outside patio was nice, even though it faces a major street. The rest of the missing stars are bc the bartender was quite short, almost rude to us. Their beer is so solid here, and they have a few different varieties of flavored pretzels for snacks, which is fun. We sat outside and visited with our friend, which was lovely. Great Brewery with lots of beer options to stop by on the way home after dinner! We didn't see any food options, but we had just eaten so we also didn't inquire! Rushmore and we went to Lost Cabin near Rapid City and they did a great job of social distancing and I ordered a couple smoked pulled pork tacos from the food truck outside, Every Day Jakes, so good! They even brought the tacos into the brewery! Great stuff. I got two Pale Ales and they were delish! Bruce Banner and SoDank. What a great meal and couple of beers! Got a flight of 5 and hubby and I were impressed by all 5 with the stars of the show being the coffee stout, the juicy Bruce (Bruce Banner APA infused with passion fruit), and the Dakota common. I will say, for a town of 60,000 people, Rapid City has quite the craft brewery scene, and of the craft brewers in Rapid City, Lost Cabin is by far the most well known. It's taproom is tucked away near the Office Max on Omaha St, and without phone navigation, can be a bit tricky to find. But once you find it, it's pretty likely you'll like what you see and drink. It's a great place to have a beer outside in the summer months, and has a nice cozy indoor environment for having a beer on a cooler fall or winter day. My go-to brews are the Bruce Banner (passion fruit ale) and the Hefeweizen (which has a fruity aftertaste as well), but their other styles are also very delicious, especially the scotch ale. Great place to meet up for a beer, whether you're a Rapid City native meeting some friends before Summer Nights or just visiting the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore for the weekend. read more

Fave brewery. You MUST go. They have the best barrel aged brews in the area. (Along with a list of other delicious beers.) It's a small brewery but it also makes it cozy and welcoming. They have a small outdoor seating and board games to play inside. It's the locals hang out. My fave day to go is Wednesday because my favorite food truck is there. If Smokin Hot is there, get the nachos. Also-- they recently opened 7 day's a week! Bonus! Go and try it out- you won't regret it. read more

Outstanding tap room a must to visit. The beer is unbeatable the So dank IPA amazing my wife has dreams of the hobo queen red they have in the winter. I'm a bit picky with my brews I normally like one or two beers on most brewery's. Lost cabin I like over half of their huge board of brews. This brewery blows all the others in the area out of the water. Unlike Hay Camp, Miner and the newer Dakota Point, Lost Cabin has real consistency beer to beer whereas the others can be very hit or miss. Even if a particular style of beer isn't really your thing you can trust that you're getting a good representation of what that style of beer is and what it should taste like. The beers are extremely well balanced and flavorful whereas beers from other breweries in the area may taste like hopped up cucumber water. My suggestions are the Father in Lager, Bruce Banner and Woodshop #4 IPA. But honestly every beer they have is extremely solid and worth trying. read more

Stopped here during a cross-country road trip that led us through Rapid City (we took an Uber, didn't drive there!). Lost Cabin is a small brewery but the beers are super solid. My husband and I split four beers that I think were named Woodshop series #5, So Dank, Liar's Chair, and Big Grizzly. The first two were IPA varieties, Liar's Chair was a hoppy saison, and the last was a Scotch Ale. The Woodshop (a hazy IPA) and Liar's Chair were particularly delicious...hop forward and very bright. The staff was really friendly and gave us several free stickers. The taproom is well done also and has nice local artwork for sale. This place was one of the reasons Rapid City was one of the highlights of our road trip so far! read more
