The technician, Mike, was outstanding as he recommended that I sit down with him to watch the inspection of the fireplace and explained in detail the images as they crossed the screen. Mike also inspected the chimney on the roof and the vent for the oil-based furnace in the basement. Mike provided me a complete report with pictures, and he went over his recommendations. genovese home improvement installed a wood burning stove for me in october 2012. this was a new…read morewood stove which i bought from them. it's now 6 months later, and i go to have the yearly maintenance done on this wood stove -- no one will touch it because it's not up to code! my roof asphalt shingles around the wood stove pipe have started coming up and i now have a leaky roof, there's a safety hazard for me to use the wood stove as it was installed too close to combustible material (the walls, it was a corner installation), and the grate inside the wood stove is cracked. during the installation, they cut through a floor joist/beam (above the wood stove in the living room, and below the bedroom, on the second floor) -- these floor joists/beams support the bedroom floor! even to get genovese to actually come and do the contracted work to install the wood stove was like pulling teeth!
