Nothing was more satisfying back in the 90's than going into an arcade and dumping quarters into games like Metal Slug, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter etc. Not only does this place scratch that itch, but you can drink while you play lol! There are numerous beers on tap here, all craft and local brews. It's self serve so you don't have to wait to fill up again. This is a really neat spot to try all types of different beers! You can pour as little or as much as your cup holds! You pour it yourself! They really have a wide assortment of beers and not all big name crafts, actually most of the ones I was able to try were my firsts. The bar as a whole especially the gaming area can be alot more spacious. read more

I really love CoinHaus, the beer can get a little pricey if you are trying to drink a lot but it's one of the best places to go to play some games and have a few drinks, they also have wine on tap. The new Mario kart game is my favorite! read more

I was pretty excited when I learned that a friend of mine wanted us to meet up at Coon Haus. I really liked the concept of having a spot where you pay per ounce and then also has games. What I wasn't expecting was having to wait nearly 40 min outside in line as a "crowd control" measure. If it was due to crowd control the doorman would have let people in based on how many exited, this was the case. If a group of 5 left only two could enter, why couldn't 5 enter? When we finally entered I was pretty disappointed that the place was half empty and then it became clear to me that the line was there to entice people to stop by. Too bad it came at the expense of people waiting outside in the cold. I can't say that I'll stop by again because I don't know if I will have to wait outside again. read more

Love this place! Really laid back located in la Mesa, with a great variety of drinks and also video games.

The idea of this place is great. Lots of beer, wine, cider and even some mixed drinks to try. I got to try some drinks I never would have because I wouldn't want to order a full sized version of the drink. The games were really fun and my friends and I had a great time. The downside is it is so small! It gets really crowded, you have to wait around for the favorite games and the games are limited because of the space. There is so much potential of they are able to expand. The people working there are also very nice and are willing to answer any questions you have. read more

This place is great for me because since you just pay for what you poor. I was able able to try many different things and found a couple new favorites. Very cool concept. You're given a lanyard with a card in exchange for your debit/credit card. You pick and pour how ever much beer or wine you want in your cup and they charge you by the ounce. The arcade games are fun to play with friends while hanging out. The only thing was there's really not much to choose from on the menu for food and my friends and I came hungry. We came on a Saturday night and it was packed and there was no place on the tables to sit or hang out so we stood around or played games. Not a very great experience but I'll probably go again but with a full stomach next time! read more

After wanting to come here for months and months.... I finally get here with my best friend, excited for a night off with video games and beer. Instead I was greeted by the most incredibly rude woman who seems to have a vendetta against the world with anyone that has a smile on their face. In all honesty I can't spend any money is establishment where I'm treated so poorly. I immediately turned back around and got my credit card back. Whoever runs this place.... you have to handle your employee. The girl with the purple hair that wears a backwards hat ( think avril lavigne minus the arm socks) ruined this place for me and here's the best part...i was only here for 4 minutes!!! new record! I feel TERRIBLE for the guy that has to work with her (She was chewing him out for no reason) and everyone else that works here. My sincerest condolences :( Thanks but no thanks. As someone who is in the customer service industry, I find this to be extremely unacceptable and I'm never coming back. Nor will I ever recommend this place any of my friends. Coin Haus is Awesomely amazing! What a great looking beer selection and super cool setup. They definitely did the most with what that had. This place is jam packed with cool and fun things to do, from all the throwback retro arcades with there sweet line-up of OG Nintendo games like Duck Hunt and Mario, to some new school throw down games like 2k and Mario kart, all the way down to there overzealous Zoltar machine hiding out in the corner. Super friendly staff members, Chris was great with explaining how the whole system works and letting us know about all there weekly specials. Side note if your really looking for a place to hangout on the weekends this place has a 6 hour happy hour on Saturdays and Sundays! Desiree was also really great at check out! Had a lot of fun here last night! Loved travelling down memory lane with all the old arcade games and getting down on some air hockey. I also love being able to pour my own drinks and sample them before I pay for a whole glass. They had some great craft beer selections! My ONLY complaint is that it is super crowded; I wish the games spread out just a little more. read more

There are selection of games to choose from which are fun to play as well. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well. Great idea, poor execution. Staff were friendly and helpful, for sure, but there wasn't enough of them. Long waits for food (20 minutes to heat up a pretzel?), cold nachos (which are just cheese and jalapenos), and long line to pay. I was there on a Friday night, and there were more people waiting in line to check out than there were playing games and drinking. This place is pretty awesome. They have about 50 taps. It's mostly beer but they have wine, cider and hard root beer. Coin Haus is definitely for people in their 30's with the type of arcade games they have here. I like this system of pouring your own beer. This place is awesome! It's Barrel Republic meets Coin Op, just like everyone else is saying. Difference is that everything is paid with a card they give you, including the games! It's really nice not having to mess with ATM fees and quarters. They're partnering a with a restaurant to add food so that's a plus. Only bummer is that I live so far away from the location! read more
