Colburn Plumbing was recommended through friends of ours when I asked for a consistent, reliable, and reasonable plumber who would actually work on the windward side! I know, it's crazy and ridiculous to have to preface a request with "consistent and reliable", but believe it or not, Colburn Plumbing was the seventh company we called! Everyone else charged extra for working on the windward side, or came out to look at the job and never respond with an estimate, or worse yet, never even had the courtesy to respond to my request! We had a minor communication drop for a week and a half or two where I didn't hear back from Colburn after they confirmed they were going to start work that week. I emailed and did not hear back from them, so I reached out to a friend's father who is in plumbing just in case Colburn did not come through. Thankfully, Colburn Plumbing's scheduler, Makana, coordinated to have someone come out right after the holiday. Dave Gauer was the plumber assigned to our plumbing project, and he was amazing! He was professional, on time, patient as he was training a helper, friendly, and knew his trade! By the way, he completed the job in two days, whereas a couple other plumbers felt it would take a week! Dave understood exactly what we wanted and needed for our project, and was able to suggest more efficient alternatives as well. After he had finished, he tested his system and fixed any small leaks that he found. That was proactive so that we did not have to have them come back out for repairs. I cannot tell you how pleased we are with Colburn Plumbing, and especially with Dave's work! We highly recommend them, especially if you are on Windward side. This company and ilemployees are so amazing. We had a major leak at our water main and Board of Water determined it was our issue but not sure where leak was exactly. I called Colburn in a panic due to large water flow and they were able to get somebody out quickly. There was great communication while a service person was scheduled and routed out to our house. James and Josh did the initial work and Kekua finished up after it was determined it was a defective valve. This was no easy task with all the water and soggy lawn. I asked to have the toilet wax seal replaced in my high-rise apartment and opted to fix the showerhead leaks myself (to save money). Jason showed up on time as scheduled. He was very professional, courteous and knew what he was doing. He even talked me through the repairs so I knew what was going on. We were referred to them by Handy Andy and really, we're in their debt for it. We've had a lot of problems over the years with contractors; plumbers, construction, Hawaii is a hive of shady businesses. Today, we had no problems at all. They arrived early to assess the job, were back here on time with the needed parts and equipment to get our numerous jobs done in two hours less than was estimated -- and the estimate given was five (5!) hours less than another company quoted. The other company wanted to send 2-3 people, too. Colburn handled it all with one. I guess that's the difference between professionals and amateurs looking to milk people for a quick buck. The work was solid and cost-effective -- there was no upselling or fishing for additional work that "needed" doing, either. We got exactly what we wanted and weren't pressured about anything more. Our estimate from the other company was $1850.00 to 2600.00, where as Colburn handled everything for 721.20. 721.20 compared to 1850.00? In less time, with less people and no hassle? Yeah, I'll take that, thanks. It's worth noting that the "other guys" I keep referencing were one of a few other companies we'd got quotes from over the last couple of months; they were the lowest with the 1850.00 estimate. The work was solid and the gentleman who did the work didn't take offense to my going over it and checking his work. I guess when you know what you're doing, why worry about it, right? I sound like a gushing school girl here, but after so many years of bad service and "professionals" being anything but, it was really nice and surprisingly refreshing to have some work done without any hassle involved. Can't thank these guys enough for coming to my rescue! I moved into my apartment a little over a month ago, but had no toilet installed as the previous contractor had removed it to do my bathroom flooring. Sooo you guessed it! I had to live without a toilet for over a month! So not the business with those middle of the night potty breaks.. anyway, I at least still had a working shower up until my shower drain decided to get clogged for some reason. For almost a week, I had to live without a full bathroom to use.. The plumbers came earlier in the week to try snake whatever was causing the clog but as I'm back to back with my neighbor, of course the pipe could only be accessible from their unit. But to my unfortunate luck, the tenant had moved out and was off island! It took awhile before the resident manager could get ahold of the previous tenant and find out that a new tenant would be moving in. Unfortunately that still meant no way of accessing the unit until they moved in. Hence waiting a week before the issue got resolved. Special shout out to Keone for fixing the clog AND installing my toilet. Yayy!!!! One star removed cause I had to patch up a hole in my wall from them trying to access the pipe they thought they could reach through my wall. I would still go through them again though! read more

At a time when the first three tries I tried to secure a plumber ended in utter failure, Colburn Plumbing became my savior. The first one I called took my info and said they would call me when they opened to schedule. They called in the morning, only to say that they didn't service my area. The dispatcher knew where I lived, she could have told me then. So I waited till 8am to call the others, I left messages as they were not answering. Regular plumber could not be reached in time to fix a broken pipe that was discovered near closing time at my business.. Was referred to Kalani Colburn by my nephew and was very grateful that they contacted me early the next morning. Their texting apps, maps information and invoicing all done by phone, Kalani is courteous polite and does efficient repairs, the communication with the dispatcher etc. were at the highest level. Don't be displeased by the initial estimate, local plumbers charge about $150 for the first hour. Our regular plumber charges only $120 but is not readily available to us when we need him. The repair to the pipe required sawing off the old part and retrofitting new hardware. The job was completed within an hour, cost was minimal, $218 and the speed and courteousness with which Kalani worked was nothing short of outstanding. I highly recommend Colburn plumbing for your business or personal needs. I will be very happy to refer him to all my clients, family and friends. It is very rare indeed to find anyone in this service industry that is worth every cent and Kalani Colburn's services fit the bill! read more
