Super friendly and very helpful!! We stayed across the street at the Hilton Palm Springs and walked across the street to this cute pet shop. The owner is welcoming and helped us get new leashes for our dogs. He gave our dogs treats and allowed them to play with the toys in the store. Since we had just adopted our 1 yr old pittie, he was happy to help us in selecting new treats that were perfect for chewers. Cute little shop in downtown Palm Springs and I adore the name! They only take credit cards for payment. So much variety of toys and other accessories that were fun to see. I personally don't have a dog and I wasn't sure what to expect for the price point, but the toys were so clever. There is also a variety of dog treats and cakes, which is fun. I opted for some cookies for my friend's dog and they were ~$6. The bag is sealed and the staff mentioned they could last up to a year in the bag in the fridge. Overall, adorable store! read more

While the store is small, it sells all of the basics and then some. They offer gear for dogs of all sizes, but it does seem like smaller dogs are their main clientele. Dogs are welcome to shop here with their owners (duh). If you're lucky, you'll see the owner's pug Bunny behind the register. If you are a dog lover, or know someone who is, I highly recommend you stop here while in Palm Springs. The cutest little shop for our little pups. Picked up a new collar for the Fredster. The selections of gifts, toys, treats, accessories are incredible. So many fun and cute things to choose from. Outfits for the baby, fun collars and leashes, and so on. Whatever your needs are, I'm sure they carry it. The guy working was the sweetest. Not sure if he's the owner though. We like going into stores for doggies. Lots of attractive and usually funny stuff. CNWH is a little on the expensive side, lots of merchandise for doggies, but the shop is very small. Somehow they found a way to pack a lot of inventory in there. Even so, we had trouble finding anything for our dogs, both around 20 lbs. Everything was too small. The gentleman working was very nice and wanted to help. I like to shop small businesses and don't mind paying a little more. We found just one thing to purchase, a doggy sweatshirt. Nice but unremarkable...except for the price, $30. This was one of the few shops in downtown Palm Springs that we went into. Not impressed with the shops in general. read more

Very helpful staff and lots of great products for your pet. We walked from our hotel to get a brush for our dog. He's blind and this was our first foray since he completely lost his sight. He was shedding a lot more than normal possibly from stress, or possibly just because the hotel is a small space there seemed like a LOT of fur floating around. Felt terrible for the cleaning staff. We discovered that Cold Nose didn't have any brushes. When we mentioned why we needed it staff member promptly gave us his own dog's brush. He had his St. Bernard puppy there that day and happened to have it with him. It was a wonderful gesture we really appreciated. We picked up a good assortment of grain free snacks and chews. We were in search of west paw toys for our little dog. This shop does have some selections to fit various dog sizes. We purchased a stuffed sling shot duck, a couple of west paw chew toys, dog bones, and even a bandana. The prices are reasonable however I recommend reviewing their return policy. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. This is a dog friendly shop. They even have a couple bowls of water near the front door for thirsty pets. I first stumbled upon Cold Nose Warm Heart in the spring of 2012 when I was visiting Palm Springs with my two dogs. I found two adorable tees for my pug: a gray one that says "I Love My Mommy" and a purple one that says "Spoiled Rotten and Loving It." We still have those shirts but they are looking a little ragged from years of use. I decided to visit the store again on my recent trip to Palm Springs to look for replacement shirts. Sadly, they didn't have the same kind of selection as before. There were several pretty fancier options but I was hoping for more basic, everyday dog tees. It would also be great to see big dog options as I also have a 100+ pound mastiff who occasionally dresses up too. Instead, I decided to get my dogs, who were home in San Diego this time, a couple of treats. First, I noticed the cookies on the counter that read "Palm Springs" and I decided to get my dogs one cookie each. Then I saw a table with lots of bones and chews and found a gigantic beef knuckle bone for my mastiff and a smaller version for my pug. My dogs were very happy with both of their Palm Springs surprises and they quickly forgave me for deserting them for a day and a half. :) read more

Yes she was with a customer but she still could of at least said hey, hi or hey black guy I'm watching you but nope. Bought a "diamond" studded collar for my dog. On the very first day I was stepping on studs that had fallen out - returned to the store and exchanged for the identical model (not much else to choose from). Well, the same thing happened with collar #2... when I returned it, collar #1 was hanging back on the rack. There are "no refunds" only exchanges... and nothing to exchange for. This is a small business and survives off tourist impulse purchases - very disappointing they are so greedy, self-centered and shady!
