The gym itself is spacious, clean, and full of equipment, so it's easy to get a great workout in without feeling crowded. ‍ That said, the biggest challenge is maintenance. Like many gyms, it's a beautiful facility, but the upkeep doesn't always keep pace. The hot tub has been down for several weeks, and a few of the newer spin bikes (from about two years ago) have minor handle issues that could be fixed pretty easily. ‍ I've heard a remodel is coming, and honestly, I'm excited -- this place has so much potential to be a five‑star standout once everything is consistently working. Still, for the friendly vibe, the open layout, the holiday hours, and the solid equipment selection, it's a strong four stars from me.

I was reading some of the reviews. And there are some customers who states in there reviews that the gym is filthy, equipment is broken and rusty. They also states that the staff is unprofessional and doesn't know what they are doing. Please tell me where that LA Fitness is in Wellington, Florida? I know the LA Fitness I go to in Wellington is always clean. That maintenance staff is always cleaning. They never stop moving , keep the gym clean and fresh. Also, as in any gym, equipment will break. What 1 or 2 machines might break and be out of service. But, overall the equipment is in good shape. The gym ( LA Fitness) at the Wellington, Florida spot is over 25 years old. So there will be some minor problems. Now, I can speak on the daycare. But, I observed the people coming out with there children. And the children seem to be happy Now, I am what you call a "gym rat ". That's an old school term that relates to the 1980's, 1990's when we lived and died by the gym rat. Some of us our jobs required that we be in the gym. A lot of hardcore lifting. And we were required to respect the gym. We made sure we cleaned after ourselves. The weight had to be put back in place, the equipment had to be cleaned after you use it. We were not leaving the gym out of order. If you did you got ridiculed. It was the law of the land. I've been injured and been out the gym about 10 years or more. I started back last year in July 2025. So maybe some of those things happened before July 2025. I wish I had a cleaning crew to clean my house like the LA Fitness cleaning crew do. I know I be in there about 3+ hours. The only problem I see is some of the new age gym rats will walk of and leave 5 or 6 hundred pounds on the bars. The women and elders have to move that stuff. Which is a workout within itself. With all that said, I have a positive experience here. Because, of my injuries some of the members come move weights for me. I mean men and women will say to me sometimes " old school, I got you ". I guess they see me struggling and come to my rescue. Now, I am very independent and I know I tend to push myself to hard thinking I can still bench press 380lbs or more. Old School Gym Rats, which is not a derogatory statement. That's slang for people that know, love and appreciate the gym. If wanted a beauty parlor. We would have went to Happy Cutz !!!

The important thing was that I was told the billing wouldn't start until my first visit. SCAM alert! I was remiss in checking my Credit Card statement (my fault), but luckily my husband eventually questioned me about the monthly RetroFitness charges. I then called and spoke with one of their reps, and the Membership was suppose to have been cancelled and Hans the Manager, was to call me back regarding refund/credit of payments. Guess what. There was no call back, instead today I opened a letter from a collection company regarding the account. Needless to say I am quite upset about this and will be getting on the phone again to get this debacle straightened out. Ugh!

Today was finally my last day at Retro Fitness after being a member since day 1 of their opening. I was one of the first to mention kids walking around the gym in flip flops and open toed shoes. Besides being a safety issue, its disgusting for other members to have to deal with this. Then last month, they decide to put up a sign " No open toed shoes". What a joke. Not once has it been enforced. They still walk around in the same flip flops by employees and management with zero enforcement of their rules. Now today I walk in and half the gym is roped off for repair. Would of been nice for a email and or announcement of this, but nope. Nothing. But ok, I can figure out a workout around that.  So today, I am working out and 4 "kids" come walking in the gym wearing pool floats. Yes, pool floats. I guess now Retro is called Retro Social Club or Retro Come and Screw Around Club. I walk up to the desk and ask for a manager. Some guy tells me he is the Regional Manager. I then inform him that it is completely unacceptable to allow this in a gym atmosphere. I also tell him that for the serious workout person this is going to cause issues. Besides the fact that most of us already have to deal with the kids standing around, sitting on machines and doing nothing but playing on their phones, this is the last straw. Now, you would think that the Regional manager would have some sort of answer and or solution but nooooo. Instead I get him defending these morons walking around the gym goofing off and getting in peoples way who just want to workout. I even told him that guys like me are going to leave and go somewhere else. His response. Nothing. Well, thanks for nothing again Retro Fitness. You have lost one of the long standing members of your gym. I will be more then happy to go and spend my hard earned money elsewhere to workout. You on the other hand can continue catering to the goof off kids and your absolute woke policies of not enforcing anything in your gym. I will certainly be making my opinion known to anyone who still works out there or ask me my advice on Retro. I have seen other gym fail and go out of business because of poor policies. Retro is on that path. No serious gym person will put up with it. And the kids won't be enough to sustain your gym.

She gave me a great exercise and training program and now (even though am carrying 10lbs more) I am running a better pace than I was 5 years ago. I get warmed up and into my stride feeling comfortable much faster. My stride length has increased slightly so I cover more ground and I feel like less effort. I look forward to my tempo runs!

Randa Alami is such a caring and dynamic trainer, she is just as focused on safety and cleanliness as she is strength and fitness. In addition to being back to group fitness, she has limited class size, installed a Reme Halo air purification system for added safety and she still does LIVE classes too. She always has her members' well being as a priority. Despite having to work out in the garage during this crazy time with LIVE sessions, I still see great results -- I can't believe it. The machines are mostly 10-15 years old. I waited for the manager to finish his work out yesterday so I could use one of the only 4 cardio machines downstairs. The manager told me he can work out anywhere at anytime he wants.. He was disrespectful and very unkind. The machines are old and very basic. The music is so loud you can't talk to other members. I was able to have my membership canceled today and I am so happy. Hopefully the new gym in town opens soon.
